Long-time Democrat pollster and staunch Clinton defender says

Posted: Oct 30, 2016

Doug Schoen dropped this bombshell on Fox this evening. He explained that it's a matter of governance and stability. In his view, Hillary Clinton would not be able to govern because of the ongoing slough of criminal investigations and likely indictment or indictments that would cripple a Clinton presidency at a time when the nation is in crisis both domestically and internationally.

Anyone who's followed Schoen knows this is a very significant indicator of how the revival of Clinton's worst nightmare (of her own devious making) is likely to affect voters if it can pry Schoen off the Clinton bandwagon. Although I've disagreed with him, I've always thought he was a pretty straight shooter. Good for you, Doug.

It's Schoen, not Cohen - sm

I couldn't find any links to Doug Cohen on Fox News. It's Doug Schoen and he is, indeed, pulling his support from Clinton. He says he's known and been friends with the Clintons since 1994. He says at this point, he cannot support her in her bid for the White House because if she wins and is under intense investigation, it would cause unprecedented Constitutional chaos.

Thanks - edited. I'd just been online buying Leonard Cohen's - new album. Brain fart. :)

okay with Trump winning with all his lawsuits pending??? And wait until all the backdoor deals he made come out. What a country, we'll have a pervert rapist as president and a nude model as the first lady. Then one day he'll just be bored and start a war with someone like Bush did.

The fact that someone as crude and vulgar - old and burned out

as Donald Trump has made it this far is sickening. Both he and Hillary Clinton have multiple skeletons in their closets but DT has absolutely no qualities or experience that make him fit for the job. What a role model for our kids - making fun of minorities, disabled, women, telling their friends and teammates if they don't like someone to punch them in the face or go f--k themselves. And once again, where are those tax returns and what are his ties to Putin.

Yet you're ok with the abject corruption rampant in - anon

everything the Clinton's touch? Apparently libs feel hearing mean things is far worse than utter corruption. What must it be like to live in that manner? Glad I don't know!
It's amazing, isn't it? - Glad I don't know either.

I think they just want some more gimmies.
It's not the mean - things

he says that scares me. It's the fact that he is crazy that is scaring me. He's already basically put a hit out on Hillary. His rallies are more like a cult leader getting his cult pumped up to fight. If he gets in, men will think it is okay to talk to and treat women like he does because if it's okay for the president to do it, it is okay for them. I bet if his emails were hacked, we'd find a lot of shady stuff. He is telling businesses it is okay to shaft us by not paying taxes and filing bankruptcy. It is okay to start a scam like the education scam he created. He is making a mountain out of a molehill with these emails that were hacked. What about the fact that one, they were hacked, two, there is nothing in them that is any different than what would be in any politicians emails and the fact that secure email servers are hacked all the time yet nobody seems to care because you have to grab at anything to get Hillary. Why don't you all get ticked about the fact that your dictator is using the Russians to win an election by hacking? Why aren't you ticked about your dictator putting a hit on his opponent? Why aren't you ticked about your dictator talks about women like they are a piece of meat and bragging about it? and the list goes on.
Yet you're OK with voting for....sm - VTMT

a person who has zero moral fiber whatsoever. I use the word person because he is by no means a real "man". Whatever you can put out there about how terrible Hillary Clinton is, nothing compares to a child rapist/pedophile, a businessman who is on trial for fraud, who uses bankruptcy laws and intimidation to avoid paying small businesses what he owes them, cheats on his wives with impunity, lies about his charitable donations, who cannot ever having recalled asking for forgiveness for anything he has ever done?? He is a narcissist and a clear and present danger to our country and our democracy.

Don't forget his fraud and child rape charges. nm - VTMT

A Conversation With A Staunch Democrat...Dec 07, 2015
I had the occasion over the weekend to have a conversation with a former neighbor, a staunch liberal democrat from New York. We used to have many discussions over the past years about politics, always polite, always respectful. In fact, she is one of the few liberals I know who is not full of vitriol and hateful rhetoric. What she told me this past weekend shocked me. She admitted to me that I had been right all along about BO and his ineffective leadership. She said she never felt so helpless ...

First Time Ever (long-time Voter) Had This ProblemFeb 16, 2016
Every one of them has serious flaws, either of character, personality, world view, experience, or philosophy - and in most cases more than one of these - that I simply cannot stomach. In my experience, it's always a choice between the lesser of two evils, but this election cycle seems to have brought out a spectacularly miserable collection of candidates.  And yes, Sanders and Trump supporters, I mean them too - or perhaps especially them too. It looks like I'll be sitting on my ...

The Most Powerful Democrat In Congress Could Be Unseated For The First Time In Nearly 3 Decades.Mar 03, 2015
The most powerful Democrat in Congress could face his toughest reelection race yet next year. Last week Gravis Insights released a new poll of Minority Leader Harry Reid's (D-Nevada) 2016 race and found him trailing two lesser-known challengers: state Attorney General Adam Laxalt (R) and former Lt. Governor Brian Krolicki (R). Gravis has a poor track record as a pollster, but its results here are in line with other surveys that have repeatedly suggested Reid ...

On A Lighter Note, A Pollster's Observation Of AOct 10, 2012
From E. J. Dionne in the Washington Post: "I was talking with an old friend who is with one of the nonpartisan polling outfits (and who also happens to be a very good and fair-minded pollster). We were discussing the large shifts in some of the polls on the presidential election and the feedback he receives whenever he puts out new numbers that make one side or the other unhappy. He offered an observation so priceless that it needs to be widely shared. 'When you give conservatives bad news ...

Advice About Long-time FriendshipSep 15, 2010
I need some advice. I have been long-distance friends with someone for almost 40 years.  I married and had kids, etc.  She is single and having a rough time.  She seems to always make terrible choices.   Well, to cut to the chase - whenever I talked to her I have to screen what I say.  If I tell her about the "good things" in my life she gets depressed and compares my life with hers.  If I tell her about the "bad things"  fights with hubby, illnesses ...

Clinton's Big Lie: OBAMA HASN'T HAD TIMESep 06, 2012
Take a look at the dire situation that America was experiencing in 1981, when Reagan took office, and take a look at what the economy looked like 3 years later. What Clinton meant to say (his teleprompter malfunctioned) was "No president who's as inept as this one could fix the economy in 4 years - and I doubt he can do it in 8 years either, if he keeps on going the way he's going."   ...

I had seen an old newspaper article called "Gridlock shows signs of thawing" by Robert Novak back in 2011 so I've been mainly focusing on finding info on gridlock and the effects on lawmaking, Congress and the Presidents in the past few days.  I did compress the various articles I found, trying not to be partial to one side or the other. Why I Voted DemocratNov 04, 2009
Wednesday, November 4, 2009 THIS IS ABSOLUTELY CLASSIC...   Why I voted Democrat: I voted Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want. I’ve decided to marry my horse. I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t. I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I ...
