A conversation with a staunch democrat...

Posted: Dec 7, 2015

I had the occasion over the weekend to have a conversation with a former neighbor, a staunch liberal democrat from New York.

We used to have many discussions over the past years about politics, always polite, always respectful. In fact, she is one of the few liberals I know who is not full of vitriol and hateful rhetoric.

What she told me this past weekend shocked me. She admitted to me that I had been right all along about BO and his ineffective leadership. She said she never felt so helpless in her life and was no longer going to go along party lines with the democrats. She does not want Hillary as president because she feels HC would follow along the same wreckless and feckless course as BO. And she definitely doesn't want BS because of her experience of living in a socialist European country years ago.

So, there you have it. A leopard can change its spots if it opens its eyes and ears and sees the wisdom in the truth. Good luck to all of us in this time of Islamic terrorism and a weak commander in chief.

3 for me, 1 for you. - +2

Had a similar experience this weekend, however, a group of 3 at the dinner I was attending stated the can't believe how crazy the Republic field has gotten. No way would they vote for Trump. They thought foreign policy would be good with Hillary and economics would be good with Sanders. These were educated Republicans, though

If a leopard can change his spots, then we must - all hope the GOP comes to its senses.

And SOON. Because every single day they seem to be getting more and more "out there", and are starting to go from just being amusing, to potentially dangerous.

The entire gvt is corrupt - sm

Which is why I no longer follow any party exclusively. Obama could not get away with the crap he is pulling if the now GOP controlled House and Senate was not going along with it. There is a reason we have checks and balances in this government, to keep this from happening. So the entire gvt is failing. Power and money absolutely corrupt, should never have been allowed to become this powerful and being a politician should never have become a career...Better hope Trump or Cruz gets elected or we will be at war inside this country very soon.

False equivalency. Whenever Pubs get caught - see message

in their pants on fire lies and hypocrisy, they always blame it on "all government".

However, it is obvious the Pubs are the corrupt (and now nazi-ish) ones who are always trying to blame others.

So you are better off today than you were - 7 years ago?

Yes! I am! Health insurance, 401K - aren't you?

7 years ago the restaurants were empty and there were no jobs around. I and everyone else was pretty much terrified about how far the economy could collapse after Bush and the Bear SteArns and Lehman Brothers collapse.

I was terrified that if I losT my job I would be out of health insurance because I have a pre-existing condition.

7 years later, my retirement account looks very healthy and so am I because even though I switched jobs, I was able to get health insurance.

There are advertisements running on TV for $2000 sign on bonuses for good jobs. There was a recent hiring of 150 medical billing personnel here.

'Oh, freedom of speech . . . - These are foolish people."

[ In Reply To ..]
Isn't that old freedom of speech thing like in the constitution? I believe we have some constitution experts here.

The above is Trump's latest plan to thwart those Muslins. You know, first we ban them from coming to the US (including US soldiers?) (Freedom of religion?) and now he wants to call Bill Gates and have him shut down the internet.

OK. Where are all the Pub/conservatives who are all fired up about constitutional rights?

show me the constitutional right someone - has

Long-time Democrat Pollster And Staunch Clinton Defender Says Oct 30, 2016
Doug Schoen dropped this bombshell on Fox this evening. He explained that it's a matter of governance and stability. In his view, Hillary Clinton would not be able to govern because of the ongoing slough of criminal investigations and likely indictment or indictments that would cripple a Clinton presidency at a time when the nation is in crisis both domestically and internationally. Anyone who's followed Schoen knows this is a very significant indicator of how the revival of Clinton ...

White House staffer, about the party’s illiteracy on and hostility toward white evangelicals. There aren’t many people like Michael Wear in today’s Democratic Party. The former director of Barack Obama’s 2012 faith-outreach efforts is a theologically conservative evangelical Christian. He is opposed to both abortion and same-sex marriage, although he would argue that those are primarily theological positions, and other issues, including poverty and immigration, are also important to h ...

Entire Democrat Party In DisarrayNov 11, 2016
It isn't only the Presidency, House and Senate the Democrats lost, they also lost at the state and local levels across the board.
