Occasionally come here just to view different opinions on current topics. It is amazing to read this board today and what is important (or entertaining) to people. I understand that different people look at things differently, and I understand people have individual opinions. What I don't understand is the actual topics of conversation that some seemingly intelligent people consider important to discuss/debate.

and I too am amazed at the strange tangents of interest. It is as though the rest of the world does not exist. I have quit "debating" on this board, as there is no real debate. For heaven's sake, they are still stuck on Sanders' sociology/philosophy paper he wrote when he was 19.

My BIL is from Canada, the land of the govt owned monopoly on beer/liquor, car insurance and medicine. Try buying a six pack of beer for $20 minimum and only at govt owned stores. He said he was in tears the first time he came to America and they sold a 12-pack of beer for $6.

The only people who support socialism are the ones who have never experienced it. Garry Kasparov, a chess master and former Soviet citizen was being lectured by Bernie Sanders's supporters about socialism. They think they know more than he does.

Attitudes like yours are why American is not #1 in anything anymore. Education is key. A college education is today what a high school education was 50 years ago. It is time for us to advance with the rest of the civilized world.

getting away with NOT paying their fair share of taxes. Meanwhile, OUR taxes are going toward that CORPORATE welfare instead of "supporting the GENERAL welfare" of all US citizens. The middle class is being screwed from both ends.

People need to educate themselves on the government bodies and understand what president can/cannot do, and what they are/are not responsible for. They also need to understand how many decisions will lie soley with Congress, no matter what party is in the white house. I see so many debates on here where people are grossly misguided in who is responsible and who can actually change things. So what Bernie is a socialist. He can not do anything without the go ahead from Congress. So what, Cruz wants to abolish the IRS. That is never going to happen. These folks have congressmen from their own parties who are totally against what they propose. And BTW, no president can "repeal" Ombama care or anything else for that matter. I hear so many things blamed on Obama which he has absolutely nothing to do with. Then I hear so many people gung-ho for Cruz or Trump, who simply do not have the power to impose what they propose. The whole election process goes so much deeper than just a presidential vote.

I suffer from debilitating menstrual cramps, like I cannot even stand up straight. I usually take Toradol, which helps me. Had a job interview on Friday. Really liked the manager and would love to work there. I was 1 of 7 people he interviewed for his assistant. Today, Tuesday, he is to go over his "notes" and make his decision. I am in my late 50's and not expecting to get the job. Too many "younger" people with better computer skills.
