The mix of players and issues is unique. You have a corrupt black abortion doctor primarily dealing with black patients for decades in a city long ago controlled by liberal politics. What we have here is a “Newton massacre” five times larger in body count, yet NO national coverage is occurring.
Why? Simple. Newton fits their agenda. Gosnell flies in the face of their agenda. Given the choice on whether to act with ethics or morality or with a desire to tell the truth or hide the inconvenient facts they don’t want to share with the country, the MSM chose to be unethical cowards. They don’t want to talk about abortion or race or the abuses. They don’t want to talk about how Pennsylvania stopped enforcing basic health regulations in abortion clinics due to liberal political pressure. How many people have been injured or killed because of this PC madness?

[ In Reply To ..]with using this case as an argument against abortion. It's a decent example of abortion gone wrong. It doesn't win the argument for me or convince me that my policy was wrong. It doesn't make me want to overturn Roe v. Wade. I only want justice done. Like with the Newtown families, I don't feel it's inherently wrong to take exemplar stories fresh off the news or to tell the side of the victims in any given case. Sometimes putting a human face on things is required to get social justice.
However, once you've put said human face on a subject, you then have to prove that the problem is recurring or endemic and then that your solution is better than the condition. In other words, there's nothing wrong with saying "We've got a disease," but after that it's time to find a cure that's significantly better than the illness.
If someone has a suggestion to prevent future incidents such as this that doesn't involve outright banning abortion or in any way compromising the legal integrity of a woman's right to choose under medically sound circumstances, then I'm all ears. I can't guarantee you'll convince me, but there's no harm in trying. No one wants to see men like Gosnell do these kinds of heinous acts. Since it's already extremely illegal to do what he did, it's more about enforcement.
As for media coverage, I agree with the thread below this about how this is a perfect example of an anti-choice outcome. A world where men like Gosnell will be the only refuge for women with unwanted pregnancies. The media is a fickle creature. Here's a story that's bloody and horrible and ripe for exploitation, but some networks don't want to run with it, probably because of its political connotations.
The problem is that every network has an agenda these days and each network's agenda completely alters the news you get. If MSNBC covers a story it's because it's pro-Democrat. If Fox News covers a story, it's because it's pro-Republican. If CNN is covering a story, it's because it's really stupid and they didn't spend 20 bucks on cheap holograms not to use them. The only thing they all have in common is that the top stories must be gruesome and horrifying.
So, I have to wonder if it really matters whose covering it or not covering it? No matter what, they're doing it for all the wrong reasons. We see so many horrors on a daily basis through the news, would one more change anything?

I do think that sometimes it's hard to decipher liberals. I think many of them are like conservatives and want the same things (jobs, good health care, etc), but I know the democrat party has also been infiltrated with communists who I think are more of the ones you might be directing this too.
I may be a conservative now because of the destruction and ruins the democrats are bringing on our country and the people in it. There may be a few good democrats, but only less than I can count with one hand. The rest of them have lost the faith of the people when they started putting their own greedy wants before actually doing things to help the country (i.e. the people who elected them). However, I've voted for more democrat presidents than I have republican presidents (but that was before the communists infiltrated the party and we no longer have democrats from Kennedy's time.
But I just really wanted to know if you are talking about posters on this board or just the people in the media and politicians. I think this case proves that there are evil people in this country and some are masquerading as doctors (and lawyers and politicians too for allowing this to happen).
