Trump's Florida trips hurting local businesses

Posted: Feb 18, 2017

When Donald Trump jets off to Florida just the flight costs taxpayers 3 million dollars but it is also hurting local businesses.  Roads are closed, local airports are closed and customers can't get to businesses.  Some of said that if this continues every weekend they will go out of business.  Way to make America great again.

...while Obama snarled his vacay sites in knots - over and over.

All conservatives whined about was vacations the last 8 years. Now your guy is doing it and it's okay? Get over Obama. He's gone now and you have what you wanted. Every time someone speaks up about what is going on presently, why not try posting an opinion about that instead!

Let's keep our powder dry. It's just a tad early to start - this kind of carping.

I think after the month of work he's put in he's entitled. No one complained about Obama UNTIL the vacationing became excessive.
...and when the costs of Obama's vacays became ridiculous, flying - separately even a flight for his dog etc.

Do you think the American public doesn't know that the left has nothing but this kind of silliness to offer?

Wait, I'm wrong: There's violence, nastiness, outright lies, misrepresentation...

I guess the left does have more to offer than sheer silliness.
Next they'll be bitching because he dares to sleep 5 hours a night. - They got nothin so they make fools of themselves.

Obama was all mouth. Trump is all action.

And THEY CAN'T STAND IT, much less understand it.
Wow, you guys must - anonon

really miss Obama because you just can't stop talking about him. i miss him too. The sanity in the White House would be a nice change, and it's only been a month!
Since he hasn't left and has started to meddle (OFA) - like some deposed tin-horn 3rd world dictator

...who doesn't have an ounce of class in his entire body, there's every reason to talk about him.

You might remember that y'all talked about Bush and blamed him for everything during the entire Obama administration, so you've got nothin to say on that score.

"Sanity in the WH" under Obama? If the relentless destruction of America is what you call sanity, we don't need it. We barely escaped that sort of "sanity" with our lives...and I'm still not sure we'll ever recover.
Bad action is not better than no action - Resist

He may only sleep 5 hours a night but he watches cable television for many hours each day which is where he gets his information since he admits that he doesn't read. He also seems to spend a great deal of time tweeting which is a heck of a way to govern.
What work? - Resist

Poorly thought out executive orders? No legislation? No national security adviser? Hundreds of unfilled positions. He has had three vacations in a month. Is it only excessive when a Democrat takes a vacation?

That is ridiculous. Trump's FL trip doesn't hurt business. - mel543

Farther down the board someone said that Trump's weekly visits to Mar-A-Lago are not hurting local businesses.  I think I posted this link before but here it is again.  Of course that person may not read it because it comes from NPR.  Nevertheless, a number of businesses are suffering and if he keeps doing this every weekend, they will go out of business. ...

Trump Bad For Local BusinessFeb 20, 2017
For some of the businesses and government agencies that surround President Trump’s “Winter White House,” the effects of his frequent weekend getaways to Mar-a-Lago can best be told in numbers. $200,000 in lost fuel sales at a large local airport in a single four-day visit this month. 75 no-shows at a new restaurant in just one night. $60,000 a day to pay overtime to sheriff’s deputies who guard the many closed roads, a tab that is about $1.5 million over all ...

The administration's inability to “degrade and destroy ISIS,” or even to “contain” the terror plague, as President Obama so inappropriately claimed just last Friday, is an embarrassment. Taxing BusinessesDec 13, 2012
An article on NPR talking about how added tax on some small businesses could lead them to hire more people or buy new equipment.  It also talks about the flip side, how for some small businesses, the tax would make it harder for them to expand. "For some 97 percent of small business owners, that higher rate is irrelevant. They make less than $250,000 a year. And for those whose income works out to be just over that threshold, one way out of paying that higher tax rate could be to hire on ...

Florida ColdFeb 19, 2015
At the risk of getting tomatoes thrown at me for those people in the north, here in SW Florida, we're not used to cold weather. It's 56 today, and going into the 30s tonight. I can't stop shivering. The heat in many of the homes is not efficient at all (it shouldn't have to be!), and our windows and doors aren't insulated. We have an open floor plan and high, vaulted ceilings, so heating it is almost impossible. And it's windy out so all the cold here is coming in t ...

A Bill To Provide An Incentive For Businesses ToJul 31, 2014
Blocked by 42 Republicans (see link below for senate roll call). This is a bill that would have potentially helped our profession of medical transcription by disallowing tax breaks for such as the big MTSOs on their overseas operations. They won't even let the teeniest incentive to get jobs back here come to a vote. I have come to the conclusion Republicans do not want Americans to have decent jobs, they also want to cut any benefits due to them taking away our jobs. What exactly do the ...
