Media in Republican's Pocket

Posted: Nov 24, 2014

Why isn't the newest development on Benghazi being blasted across the media? Why haven't this board's Republicans acknowledged and apologized for their rabid criticism of Susan Rice and the Obama administration on this? The embarrassed House Select Committee sneakily released the latest Benghazi report last Friday, the Friday before Thanksgiving. That is a well known media trick to bury a news story. (The Michael Brown grand jury outcome will probably be handled the same way this week). During holiday weeks, the media runs on minimal staff and mostly prepackaged news stories as they take the holidays off,too. In my estimates from what I can find online, the House has wasted at least $17 million on this Benghazi witch hunt. Really. If you can't find the story, here it is . . . * * * Michael McAuliff WASHINGTON -- "Yet another detailed investigation into the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya, has refuted claims that there was a coverup or that officials didn't do all they could at the time to save the four Americans killed that night." "The latest findings, released Friday, come from the declassified two-year investigation of the House Intelligence Committee, which conducted an exhaustive probe into the incident, including claims that the White House cooked up phony talking points for then-UN Ambassador Susan Rice." "Among its findings, the report says CIA personnel responded not just well, but heroically; that there was no "stand down" order, as some critics have claimed; there was no intimidation of witnesses by superiors; there was no intelligence failure prior to the attack; and that a "mixed group" of individuals, including some linked to al Qaeda, participated in the attack." "But perhaps the most significant conclusion is its finding that Rice's talking points -- a key focus of the Benghazi Select Committee empaneled by House Speaker John Boehner -- were not part of an attempt to conceal the severity of the incident. . . . ;

That's crap. What about the 18 witnesses who have - mysteriously died? (sm)

THAT'S why they don't want to report on it.

He is an American. You don't have to be a Barbara Walters or Wolf Blitzed or O'Reilly or Matthews to observe and understand what is going on.

Blogs are the best places to get information when doing research. If I do research on how to make an apple pie and post the recipe on my blog it doesn't mean that the recipe is not true and will fail.

People need to start realizing that just because someone writes a blog about issues does not mean that what they say is a bunch of crap. I've done research on this guy and what he writes is indeed correct. The reason I know this is because I cross reference with other sources and the information he posts is found to be true from other sources not related to each other than I can trust that this is true. It's called research.

And if you are going to cut down every source just cos you don't agree with it there will be no sources to get information from.

are they dead or have they disappeared, as - in never existed? - nm

Does this logic really work? The "witnesses" are dead, but we don't know if they knew anything, but it is certain they won't help now because they are dead, we aren't even certain Gowdy would have called them, but they might have been important, who knows who knows anything??? If, if, but, well maybe somebody knows something to keep this conspiracy theory going.

from source:
"It’s unclear how much the 15 dead witnesses knew about the attacks, whether Gowdy planned to call them, or what their unavailability means for his investigation, but it certainly seems unlikely that their absence will assist the committee’s efforts to uncover all the facts.

Also unclear is how many Libyan witnesses remain alive and available to testify. If 15 witnesses out of, say, 300 have been killed over two years in a nation wracked by civil war, that is sad, but not terribly surprising.

On the other hand, if the original total was more like 30, that’s quite a different story."

Romney politicized the attack - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
I recall the night of the attack, Romney jumped the gun and put out a statement criticizing the administration.

The situation was all confused by a minister in the US releasing a film against Islam and there were protests all over the area.

It is never good form to publicly criticize the leadership when a crisis is in progress. It certainly reflected badly on Romney's character.

Because Lindsey Graham's "on the case" now - I know I feel better *snicker*

[ In Reply To ..]
Lindsey Graham, the original main accuser in Congress, was on "Face the Nation" yesterday, angry and fit-to-be-tied, now wanting to go through the Senate for another investigation because he believes the Houses's bipartisan investigation is "garbage" and "full of crap."

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/11/23/graham-critical-new-gop-house-report-on-benghazi-calls-findings-garbage/

As if we don't waste enough taxpayer money already, let's re-investigate through the Senate because we didn't find the dirt we wanted, even though the first investigation was bipartisan with a Republican majority in the house, presided over by Boehner (R)!

Thank you for this post - had I known you were going to post this, I would've waited on my post above you, sorry about that :/

This was mentioned in a thread below, too, but all the comments underneath were removed (including my reply to someone else that included a PDF of the actual report, which I guess to the wayside along with their removed comment)? Maybe a good thing because I typoed the word "report" as "repoort" in the title and came back to make fun of myself.

Speaking of which, you're right, it's not a big deal to admit your wrong or apologize or laugh at yourself. I've done it a couple times on here myself. We're all human :)

Here's the link PDF Benghazi report (can't get it in the link slot because it's an https vs. http):

Haven't read all of your post, but - sm

Reading the title alone, it's a pretty sad day when somebody has to gloat over no resolution in a case involving the deaths of four Americans. But then again, what difference does it make? Right?

Gloat. Yes, they do it so well. Who cares about the dead? - Not them, for sure.

[ In Reply To ..]
What difference at this point does it make? Ask Hillary.

I believe the OPs point was there was much gloating over "uncovering" this story by the pr - that appears to have disappeared

[ In Reply To ..]
And unanswered questions doesn't mean you can assume the worst either.

We'll never find out what happened, we're dealing with spooks and special ops. If they don't want you to know, you'll not know, but that doesn't mean anyone was doing anything wrong or that they shouldn't be.

I have a family member who was Army Ranger. Sometimes, we're better off not knowing because it could compromise current infiltration operations and national security to have that information.

Where was all this "demand to know" when George Bush Sr and others kept putting Noriega, a huge Latin American drug lord, on the payroll, off again/on again, put him in power and then took him out, killing roughly 50,000 civilians in the process?

Excuse me, but it seems that history has shown us Republicans tend to look the other way on their own, but create unprecedented drama and lynch mobs when it's a Democrat in office suspected of doing the exact same thing.

You've gotta be kidding - Shirley

What's that saying surely you jest. The media IS and always HAS BEEN in the pockets of the democrats. The internet, Google, everywhere it's all praising democrats and you know whating on the republicans with obvious lies.
