Please Pray for Our Nation!

Posted: Mar 22, 2010

After visiting several online sites, I am relieved to know that so many Americans, both Democrats and Republicans, GET IT.  They understand the significance of what happened tonight, and they KNOW that Obama and the Democrats just sold out the citizens of this country in a huge way.  They understand that if this monstrous, unconstitutional bill is allowed to stand, their children and grandchildren will carry a heavy burden indeed.  It's unfortunate that so many posters here DO NOT get it.

The evil has shown its ugly face and is now casting an ever-growing shadow over our liberties and freedoms.

This nation needs our prayers during this dark time.

I believe health care is a basic human right. It is shameful that our country allows 30 million people to be uninsured.

Our children and grandchildren are already carry a heavy burden of debt in order to pay for the immoral war in Iraq. That monstrosity, I believe, was pure evil. And I prayed during that time, as well--still do.

Our nation always needs our prayers.

AMEN. I believe that having health insurance is better than having none. Why is it that so many people hate what Obama is doing but loved Bush for 8 years? Are you people racist are just stupid?

Insurance for those millions of people - will be at a cost.

[ In Reply To ..]
It will be not be free. We were without medical insurance for 1 year because of husband laid off back in 2002. It was horrible. Could not afford 1,200 a month for insurance.

Now, if you will be laid off, you will get coverage at a reduce rate. Still, I have to come up with the money to try and buy insurance because if I choose to not have insurance like I did in 2002, I will have to pay a fine since the IRS will be covering each one of us to have insurance.
TO HAVE INSURANCE OR NOT.....THAT IS THE QUESTION - MargoMT

......Everything is at a cost! There is a cost to live.....nothing comes free! I must say, everyone that I know and speak to is excited to have an opportunity to purchase healthcare. Our current state governor is filing a law suit (paid for by the taxpayer's of the state of VA) saying that the government should not penalize a person who does not wish to obtain health insurance. So far, I do not know any of these people! Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon and trying to slam our President, but I applaud him because he just did not "kick the can" to the next president to handle. He stepped up to the plate and decided to tackle healthcare for ALL AMERICANS! Call, it Obamacare, call it what you like, but I paid some pretty healthy insurance premiums as an IC working as a MT and when I was self-employed. So, yes I do support my President for "stepping up to the plate." I'll take some of the Obamacare insurance! Anyday, anytime! Thank you Mr. President!

are getting tingly all over because they can now buy insurance and won't be turned down....great...more power to them. However, no person should be forced by our not-so-wonderful president and cronies to buy a product he/she doesn't want or need. To me, that is a monstrosity.

There is a cost for everything but at least we have always had the opportunity to decide if we wanted to "buy" or not. This forced legislation is just the tip of the ice berg. What will this administration force on us next? If they get away with this, our freedoms are slipping away. You should wait before you start the celebration. The wolves are licking their chops. The lambs are delirious right now. ;)
So...sad - MargoMT

So sad...that you THINK being uninsured is a good choice. Well, when/if you need medical care who do you think will pick up the tab? The taxpayers (me) and the rest of us Americans. Because you have healthcare does not mean that you can AFFORD it! Most people cannot be without because of family or their own personal health issues. Me personally have health insurance for dental benefits, vision and my yearly GYN appointments. To date no health concerns. It is my choice to have health insurance because you never know when you are going to need it! I applaud the regulations being set so the insurance companies cannot continue to deny people because of pre-existing conditions or deny a claim because of an illness/disorder. OUR PRESIDENT may not be so wonderful as you put it, or feel as though everyone is being forced to obtain healthcare, but seriously I do not know anyone personally who does not want healthcare! So, some people may be a little upset about being "forced" but I really do not want to pick up the "tab" because you choose not to be insured!
I'm not talking about... - nnn
[ In Reply To ..]
not wanting health care. I'm talking about not "needing" health care but "disease care" or "accident" care. And don't go moaning and groaning about picking up the tab for those of us who don't have it. I've been picking up the tab with MY taxes for the past 20 years for all those who have refused to take care of their health. I haven't needed it. When I DO need it, I expect to pay my own costs so you really should stop all the melodramatics. It is MY choice not to have it just as it is YOUR choice to have it. You get to have "your" choice. I don't. That's what upsets me. I don't believe any one should be denied accident or disease care but neither should people be forced to buy something they may never need or use. You or no other Americans have NEVER picked up my tab so that should ease your conscience. ;)

and I quote you, "I haven't needed it. When I DO need it, I expect to pay my own costs". So then you are planning to wait until you get sick to get health insurance??? And now thanks to our "not so great" president and his new healthcare bill, you will be able to get it when you NEED it. You will not be denied it because of the pre-existing condition you waited to have before you got insurance.

I'm not real fond of the idea of being forced to have insurance either, but someone needed to reign in the insurance companies a bit.
Formerly laid off - MDLady
[ In Reply To ..]
Last year, I was laid off from my job after working there 5 years. After I was laid off, I got sick and needed to see a doctor but could not afford one because I did not have insurance. Speak for yourself. People get sick all the time, healthy or unhealthy. If you get sick, you will be your health care provider? Jesus? I have never heard of anything so ridiculous as to not want healthcare because you take care of yourself. That is BS!!!
LOL... - nnn
[ In Reply To ..]
Healthy people get sick less often and the rare times they do, they don't need to rush to a doctor because their immune system is a lot stronger and they get over it quicker without medical intervention. That's why it's termed "healthy." The better we take care of ourselves, the less sick we are. It's just common sense. No rocket science there.

Obamacare - onlyhuman

[ In Reply To ..]
People hate Obamacare because it is not about healthcare insurance, it's about sticking their nose in our individual lives, slowly stripping away our individual rights. They will not only ration my care, they will ration yours. You will one day regret that you voted for Obama. Doctors will have to deal with so much red tape and will be restricted from doing certain tests because they will be too expensive and unnecessary according to the government. And this certainly is not about healthcare, it's about insurance. It's about putting insurance companies out of business and forcing you and every citizen in America to pay for insurance or be fined. The racist comment is just a desparate argument Obama lovers use because there are millions of Black people that know exactly the evil that is going on here. Socialism, Marxism. You are being fooled, just as the Germans were fooled by Hitler.

Health care... - nnn

[ In Reply To ..]
is not necessarily a right. When our health is compromised by events that are unavoidable, then yes health care should be provided. In certain circumstances yes. But not all.

Do you believe health care should be provided for irresponsible females who use abortion for birth control?

Do you believe health care should be provided for alcoholics who refuse to stop drinking?

Do you believe health care should be provided for the drug addicted because they refuse to stop using drugs?

Do you believe health care should be provided for those who smoke because they refuse to stop smoking?

Do you believe we should provide gastric bypasses for those who go back to their bad habits of overeating and eating the wrong foods? How about CABG for those who refuse to eat right and avoid more stents?

I don't want to carry partial burden for people who refuse to take the necessary steps to protect themselves and avoid "disease" care. It's ludicrous and down right unfair!!!!!

I'm uninsured because I choose to be. Don't feel that it's shameless. Most of those uninsured always had care because they were on welfare anyway. The insured are those who can afford it. Only those who are uninsured and will be forced to buy insurance are those who usually don't see a doctor anyway for various reasons--they either take care of themselves and don't need insurance or don't believe in getting care in the first place but rely on God. The monstrosity is this huge bill Obama has left my grandchildren with and the takeover of the American people's freedoms. Only God can help us now.

This is the first time in American history that young people—32.1 percent of millennials—have been most likely to live with their parents.
