Please pray for me

My heart is just aching and I am feeling so lost at the moment. I am asking for prayers for clarity as I honestly do not know what to do?... My fiance (well ex as of today) was out of work for a year and a half after being laid off from the sheriff office. He searched daily for a job during that time and now has found work with another sheriff office, which is good for him. During that time, I worked my fingers to the bone just trying to keep us afloat. Sadly we lost our vehicles, because it was either my home or our cars and I wasn't going to live in a car. Now, I am being sued for the balance owed on my vehicle (rightly so I guess since I agreed to pay for it and defaulted on the loan) and they are going to garnish my check. We went to see an attorney this morning who informed me flat out that I need to file bankruptcy and include the house to keep the garnishment from happening. So basically, I am going to lose my home because of a 6000 dollar balance left owed on the car. Then to top it all off, my transcription position is slowly going away. I work fulltime for a 500+ bed medical facility here in town. Our manager said "don't be a dinosaur. Get to college and learn a new trade before you have no job. More money I don't have. I have been searching for another job to work along with this one, but to no avail as of yet. Long story short, I took care of him when he was down and out of work, now that he is back on his feet and I am facing all of this... he decided to tell me today "I am leaving you, I don't think this is going to work out for us and I just want to start over on my own." What a kick in the face after all I gave up while he was out of work. After I took care of him and supported him while he wasn't working. Now... I am facing all of this and looks like I am on my own to deal with it all. I have been praying all day and I just cannot figure out what to do or where to turn. Could sure use some clarity at this point. :( Thanks for listening to me and keep me in your prayers please.

Things are really hitting you from all sides and I'm sure you feel at the end of your rope. It's hard to face the end of a relationship even when it's with someone who is so obviously undeserving of you, but now you can concentrate on yourself and not be concerned with emotionally and physically supporting this other person. I would try to put getting training for a different career on the back burner and try to get through each day. At thist point you still have a job and some income, so you may be down but you're not out. I know the laws vary from state to state, but is Chapter 13 an option for you? It is a way for wage earners (which you still are) to reorganize and keep their home. Could you rent out a room in your house for extra income? I treasure my privacy, but I've had to do that and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Hang in there and I will be praying for you.

My job is going away at the end of September so I am dealing with a layoff too. See if your employer can place you in another position, there must be something in a facility with 500+ beds. If your position is slowly going away, hopefully you'll find something before it's completely gone. If you have a 401K, look into the possibility of a hardship withdrawal, most plans have that in place when someone is facing the loss of their home. Don't worry about school now, deal with the issues at hand. If you sold the vehicles, couldn't you have used that cash to pay the 6K loan or refinanced at a lower rate? I'm sorry your fiance left but he might have done you a favor. I'm looking at this from a practical standpoint, I really am very sorry and I will keep you in my prayers.

As far as bankruptcy, check with your lawyer but I think you can re-claim your house after the bankruptcy. Ask him about that. It means that you will re-assume that debt and keep house.

I know you are hurting. It was lousy of your fiance. Maybe you are learning something from his leaving that will save you years of pain by being married to someone who won't hold up their end of a relationship.

Which state are you in? That makes a BIG difference with your house. - beentheredonethat

I am in Florida. We had to file bankruptcy last fall. Too long of a story. We don't want the house (underwater, can't afford it when I retire, blah, blah - should NOT have refinanced it in 2006).

BK and foreclosure are 2 separate things in FL. Just because you file BK in any state, you have the RIGHT to fight for your house. Yes, it'll cost you a lawyer but you'll need it if you want the house. Make sure it's worth it. Are you underwater in value? Can you afford the payment even 1 year from now? You need to consult a lawyer.

Also, quit making the payments and save that money for the attorney, which you need to consult with ASAP regarding the house. Get a couple opinions too. Don't just go with the 1st lawyer's suggestion. Get 2 or 3.

First of all breathe. Regarding your car call the company and see if you can work out a deal to make more affordable payments. Some companies rather than repo them and lose money will actually work with you. Second regarding your education. Think of what it is you like to do in life and see if you can do an assessment test at your local college. Loans and funding are out there and I won't lie to you sometimes the financial aide departments at the school are a bit useless but if you persevere it works out. Lastly the ex, all I can say is been there done that. If you don't count on anyone you can't be disappointed. I am sorry I know that hurts. There are classes online for different things too. See if your job offers any kind of education assistance perhaps you want to get into coding or tumor registry even. More $$. Bless you!

Everyone has a connection to our HIGHER POWER, GOD, HIMSELF, whether you belive it or not. I am sure there was a small voice inside of you warning you about different situations that you were encountering as you were trying to decide what you were going to do. Example: No matter what religion you do or do not practice you were warned "instinctively" not to fornicate. Of course you were warned not to live in sin by living with someone with out being married to them "shacking up". On top of all of those things were you praying from the beginning? I bring these things to your attention not to put a damper on your life neither to criticize but to let you know that I went through all of those things and even worse than what you may or may not be experiencing today. We often forget to keep GOD as our NUMBER 1 source of Love and Guidance while we are busy "enjoying" our lives and doing "what we want to do". Unfortunately we forget that we were created. We were created to not only live and enjoy life but first and foremost OBEY HIM, GOD, OUR CREATOR. so when we lose sight of HIM and get caught up in the worldly life we want to run and turn to HIM for shelter and answers when out world begins to crumble around us. It that any way to treat THE ONE WHO CREATED you and I for HIS purpose? Of course, not. We should always HONOR, LOVE, RESPECT, ADORE, and first and foremost TRUST HIM. Trust the HE has all of the answers seeing that HE created you and knows the secrets of the universe. But don't lose sight that HE is a MERCIFUL AND OFT MOST FORGIVING GOD. HE LOVES YOU AND KNOWS that our physical being can sometimes take hold of us and place in the worst of situations in our lives. So...All of that being said, Turn back to your, our LORD and first take responsibility for the situation that you are currently in. Secondly, get on your knees and repent by asking Him for forgiveness of all of the things that you know in your heart and mind that you did knowing that HE disapproved of them and even for the things that you thought that didn't matter but the truth was that to GOD they did matter. Thirdly, ask HIM to allow you to only hear HIS voice and any Guidance that comes from HIM alone and to block out any other voices that may try to misguide you. Fourthly, ask for clear directions as to how to correct the errors that you made in your life. Fourthly, accept anything and everything that HE tells you to do even if it may seem strange to you. Fifth, TRUST HIM to guide you to the path that leads back to HIM! Sixth, Remember you have been living the life that you chose and now it is time that you let go and allow GOD TO GUIDE YOU. HE HAS ALWAYS LOVED YOU THAT IS WHY HE CREATED YOU AND NOW YOU NEED TO RETURN BACK TO HIM AND OBEY HIM. YOU WILL THEN KNOW WHAT THE WORD "LIVING" REALLY MEANS. GOD IS ALWAYS WAITING FOR US TO COME BACK TO HIM WHEN WE HAVE STRAYED AWAY FROM HIM BUT IT'S UP TO US TO RETURN BACK TO HIM AND ALL TOO OFTEN IT'S WHEN OUR LIVES HAVE SPIRALED OUT OF CONTROL AND WE NO LONGER FEEL THAT WE KNOW WHAT TO DO. I know that this was posted in August but GOD has HIS own timing which means HE IS ALWAYS ON TIME. Perhaps there are others out there that may need a LIGHT to help guide them back to OUR MERCIFUL AND LOVING GOD. MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU AND ALL WHOM GOD LEADS TO READ THIS MESSAGE. We are at a very crucial point with our finances. I have had swelling in my ankles and feet and legs as well as my abdomen. Have gained an awful amount of weight suddenly. I have a heart problem, but I really think I am going into congestive heart failure. I am scared. I went to my doctor last week and he did blood work which showed I had low potassium at 3. My dad is having an angiogram on his leg this Thursday to see if they can put stents in to open blockages and get some blood flow back to his foot which has an ulcer that is getting worse and will only get better if they can increase circulation to the area. I do reports for a big hospital in the midwest and see a lot of cancer reports, anorexia, car accidents and sometimes I just feel so overwhelmed by it that I have to stop and pray for the people in the report. I don't know if this helps them, but it makes me feel less depressed. Anyone else do this? ...
