Anyhow, if anyone hasn't seen it, below is a link to the documentary Food Inc. They used to air it online through PBS, but now they only have the interview with the director. The only version I could find has Spanish subtitles, but it is an EXCELLENT movie... a must see for everyone, IMO. If the subtitles are driving anyone batty, I believe it's available on Netflix (as well as some other really good docs. on food).

This documentary covers some of the same topics as the book "Salt, Sugar, Fat." My doctor recommended I read the book Wheat Belly, which has much to do about genetically engineered wheat and the connection to celiac disease. I started following the principles of fresh fruits and vegetables and no processed foods and I dropped my cholesterol 36 points in 6 months. Only lost about 5 pounds so far, but feel so much better. This is the first dietary information that makes sense to me on social, environmental, nutritional, and physical levels. I would love to see everyone watch this, read some information, change their lifestyle, and enjoy better health.

only mine dropped 53 points (266 to 213) - I did all the things you talked about and added flaxseed meal to practically everything. The weight hasn't come off as fast as I would like, but like you, I feel so much better! Isn't it weird? I mean, I grew up eating white bread and now I wouldn't touch the stuff with a 10 foot pole!

You could talk at me about calories and energy until you are blue in the face, but when I realized how the corporations, ConAgra, Smithfield, Monsanto, Coca Cola, etc., have manipulated all of the food we eat, the lightbulb went off for me. It made me literally sick to see some of the people on this board defending the pop manufacturers right to sell nonthinking consumers "big pops" of pure sugar water.

Just kidding :) I am actually quite liberal when it comes to social issues and with things like this. Now, I still "slip" sometimes and have a brownie - my FAV thing ever!!!

My daughter, who's 8 and hasn't developed a filter between her mind and her mouth, told a friend of hers that we don't eat McDonalds because "My mom says that stuff is garbage." Guess I need to work on the "promoting of good health WITHOUT seeming insulting" thing with her :)

MTStars has a limited control over the Ads being shown to it's visitors by Google AdSense. I was wondering exactly what kind of "faith" board this is.
