Though I'm glad Garland, Texas, police acted quickly, IMO, it is never a "moral" thing to do to applaud the ending of human life regardless of circumstance. Most police officers and soldiers don't come home stating how proud they were to have to end someone's life in the line of duty, even in a legitimately threatening situation; in fact, it usually haunts them for life. But then most of them have a moral compass and conscience. It's the ones that don't that worry us.

Since no source refuting OP post, - nothing here but opinion, no facts

My opinion above stated that most military and law enforcementwith conscience feel guilt over ending-life decisions made in the line of duty, even when legitimate threats occurred. For the basis of my opinion, I use the increasing number of members of law enforcement and soldiers with PTSD (which by definition includes guilt from line-of-duty decisions and survivor's guilt), verified by the fact the VA has now created a special program for them:

The same programs are available for law enforcement in each state, city and county, but that's a Google search according to where a person lives.

Additionally, I base this opinion on personal experience as many members of my family, friends and neighbors are former soldiers and/or members of various levels of law enforcement.

Not sure who "they" is, but the only dissenting opinions I see here at the time this was written are people disagreeing with the OP's 2nd opinion about being glad Texas killed people, not Obama's quote.

I'm quite sure people frowning on others cheering on ending life is not party specific. Everything is not always "either/or", "always/never" or "black/white." People definitely don't deserve to be lumped into some derogatory "they" group just because they disagree on a single aspect of a comment.

Once I better understood the OP's context for the quote, I understood their opinion and my opinion is that particular opinion was valid.

I'm interested in debate, not fighting, especially not over semantics, but have a good day:)

Otherwise, I guess we see the need for Operation Jade Helm in Texas after all. So Greg Abbott and the far right can chill, knowing now that because legitimate terrorists were found in Texas, perhaps the far right isn't the target of Operation Jade Helm after all.

However, if anyone needs further reference/brush up on the difference between opinion and fact, as well as the difference between basis for forming an opinion vs. fact, please refer to any middle-school English class.

However, if anyone would like to debate the actual opinions expressed/basis for opinions expressed, rather than arguing word choice and semantics, please let me know.

Otherwise, perhaps it's best to accept that I probably won't always agree 100% with everyone on everything and don't have to, and further, no amount of nitpicking the semantics in comments is going to change that. However, I will always respond reasonably to people that present opposing opinion reasonably:)
