The House votes Holder in contempt.

Posted: Jun 20, 2012

Holder really messed up, big time. He stonewalled and did not comply with submitting the lawfully requested documents. Now this. ;

Good, about time the total disregard this administration - has for the rule of law/Constitution

catches up with them They are disgraceful. No regard or respect for the lives lost with their attempt to politically manipulate the gun regulations. This is the absolute most incompetent, arrogant (right up there with Clinton), inept, inexperienced, lying (again right up there with Clinton), deceiptful, manipulative bunch of baffoons housed under 1 roof.

Sounds just like the dems complaints under Bush - a few years ago. LOL!nm

Even Alberto Gonzalez wasn't censured - when he was forced to resign

[ In Reply To ..]
after bipartisan calls for his ouster over "misstatements" he made in his testimony during the Congressional probe in the attorney firings. Despite Ws unwavering support, they did initiate no confidence vote proceedings in both the House and Senate which ultimately failed, but not before 7 GOP senators sided with the democrats in a cloture vote. Ultimately it was a moot point, since he left his position with no clear explanation.

Gonzales very clear about reasons for leaving - Try a little research nm

His announcement even caught his closest top aides off guard.

I guess we are expected to accept your backtalk and research admonishment simply because you say so, without even stating the alleged "clear" reason or citing a source. So do tell. What did HE say HIS reasons were for skipping out after the no confidence dust up?

No they didn't. The oversight committee RECOMMENDED - a House vote that

hasn't happened yet.

Actual vote was taken to put before entire House - Yeahs 23 - Nays 17

[ In Reply To ..]
Was not a "recommendation", but an actual vote by the committee to proceed to the floor with a vote open to entire House. Big dfference between that and a "recommendation".

No they didn't. The oversight committee RECOMMENDED - WRONG VOTE WAS TAKEN nm

.

It goes without saying that committees vote before - making recommendations, but

[ In Reply To ..]
the fact remains that the HOUSE has not voted on this, as was erroneously stated in the original post. There is a BIG difference between a vote taken in a 40 member committee versus one involving more than 10 times that number of reps (435 to be exact), all of whom are up for re-election in the fall.
Does not "go without saying", many on this board - have no idea what occurred
[ In Reply To ..]
or may not know what the process is. The fact is still: Committee voted, yeahs 23, nays 17 to move it to the House for a full House vote for contempt of Congress.
I'm sorry. - sm

I didn't realize you had taken it upon yourself to educate all the clueless posters who need guidance through the committee process, don't realize that committees vote, and haven't heard today's lead story out of our do-nothings in the House....who no matter how you try to slice it... Have. Not. Voted. On. Censure.

Your attention is directed to the very top of the thread. That would be the entry with the big fat blue star in front of it, that reads as follow:

"The House votes Holder in contempt."

That would appear to be in direct conflict with your assertion that "NO.ONE.SAID.CENSURE.WAS.VOTED.ON. TODAY," assuming that you realize this thread is not only about you and your posts. All I tried to do was correct that misconception. I trust we can now agree on this one single point I have been trying to make. ***

Anyway you spin it, - Holder is in deep doo-doo.

The House committee voted to hold him in contempt, it's going to the full House next week. Yep. He's in for it.

Good, sick of him/Obama picking and choosing - what law to enforce..

Former Attorney General Rips Comey, But He Was Held In ContemptOct 31, 2016
The Democrats are in full crisis management mode over the decision by FBI Director James Comey — whom Democrats were lining up to praise a few short months ago — to inform Congress that the investigation into Hillary Clinton's illegal private email server has been officially re-opened due to the accidental discovery of potentially thousands of undisclosed emails. In response, the Democrats are doing what they do best: orchestrating a take-down. One of the most notable figures leading th ...

It's about time. WHen you don't have respect for Congress and thumb your nose at them when investigating, those on the committees need to get tough. It's just like criminals do when confronted and arrested by cops and they refuse to follow their commands.  IT seems there is NO respect for the rule of law anymore and it has to change.BTW, if you saw Sharpton's interview on MSNBC, it sounds like he's pushing the predjudice act against black on black police shooitngs ...

House Leaders Plan Separate House VoteMar 20, 2010
Democrats edged closer to finding 216 lawmakers to back a landmark health-care bill Saturday, as party leaders and White House officials were working on an executive order that they hope will win over a substantial number of antiabortion Democrats. The House Rules Committee continued its session on the third floor of the Capitol, where the panel is tasked with setting the terms of Sunday's floor debate. House leaders have decided to take a separate vote on the Senate version of the healt ...

So, why is Holder so quiet?  Is it another case that, as he said in the New Black Panther voter intimidation case, "demeans my people?"  Come on, Mr. Holder, I'm just dying to know your feelings on putting a dead-or-alive bounty on a man's head in our civil society.   What's next?  A public stoning?  Please condem this publicly and, at the very least, investigate it.  In other words, do your job. http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2012/04/zi ...

Holder's Not In The Clear Yet With F&FSep 22, 2012
"Even if we put the best possible face on the Inspector General’s report about the “Fast and Furious” gunwalking scandal — and assume that embattled Attorney General Eric Holder knew nothing, nothing about a cockamamie operation that funneled thousands of American guns to murderous Mexican drug cartels until very late in the game — we’re still left with one stunning conclusion: Why the hell not? He certainly should have known, and it&rsquo ...

Eric Holder Possible ReplacementsSep 26, 2014
Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick. Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick Deval Patrick is one of the names consistently floated as a hypothetical replacement for Holder. Patrick worked as an assistant attorney general in the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department during the Clinton administration, and is a friend of Obama. Eric Holder/fast And FuriousOct 04, 2011
Documents obtained by CBS News prove that Holder had been receiving regular briefings on the botched sting operation as early as July, 2010.
