Eric Holder to State Attys Gen -
Posted: Feb 25, 2014
You don't have to enforce the laws if you don't agree with them.
Say what, Eric?
;
no, that's not what he said - sm

Mr. Holder said when laws touch on core constitutional issues like equal protection, an attorney general should apply the highest level of scrutiny before reaching a decision on whether to defend it. He said the decision should never be political or based on policy objections.
“Engaging in that process and making that determination is something that’s appropriate for an attorney general to do,” Mr. Holder said.
It's the O administration double speak. - You interpret it how you like. I will do the same

I didn't make an interpretation; I quoted the article - nm

Ok, I guess I need to explain myself re doublespeak - Here's one for you = an example: (sm)
[ In Reply To ..]
I read this one in numerous places, newspapers, internet sites, etc. etc. and heard it ad nauseam. It was exact words:
IF YOU LIKE YOUR INSURANCE, YOU CAN KEEP YOUR INSURANCE. PERIOD.
See what I mean about the O's administration interpretation of things?
I think he not only took responsibility for that - but 'fixes' were instituted and explanat

were made.
If I understand it right he MEANT that if you like your insurance WHICH also COMPLIES WITH THE NEW LAW, you can keep it.
Many of the policies canceled were because they did NOT comply with the new law (and were actually more of a rip off when it came to coverage).
Obama should have been more clear about this - AND deserves a lot of blame for the initial roll out of the plan. I have no problem criticizing Obama when he deserves it.
The other side, in contrast, would apparently rather die a slow a painful death before they would concede even the teensiest, tiniest credit, positive statement, etc. And THAT is where they lose credibility... :))
I see you're right in lockstep with what they tell you (sm) - me again
[ In Reply To ..]
With this administration's penchant for doublespeak, they always come up with excuses and reasons and explanations, hoping against hope that people will believe them and excuse them for it (some call it doublespeak, some call them outright lies - I'm the latter, but I was being nice calling it doublespeak). Evidently some do believe them.
Thanks for nicely making my point. - speaking of 'penchant'
[ In Reply To ..]
And SOME call it a reasonable explanation for a mistake.
Even while shaking our collective heads wondering how they could have made such mistakes....
Reasonable people understand that the implementation of MAJOR policy changes come with headaches as evidenced by history (also known as research).
You would have more credibility if there was a real public outcry - but right now the lone voices hollering about "falling skies" are hollow.
I think the most upsetting thing to those who oppose Obama/O'care, etc., is that his policies are (so far) NOT the utter failure predicted, and horrors of horrors SOME of the policies may actually be good ones.
can't have that, can ya?
LOL - which ONE is a good one? - She said in a lighthearted tone.

nm
No answer would satisfy - you.
[ In Reply To ..]
We'll just have to agree to disagree.
You didn't ask me - NK

but I'm pretty happy that my great-nieces and great-nephew can stay on their parents' plan while they finish their education.
I also think it's pretty cool that people with pre-existing conditions are no longer denied coverage or required to purchase a junk plan that pays nothing (voice of experience).
And the icing on the cake is that because of the ACA people are now able to seek treatment and my workload has increased because of patients either establishing care or being lost to followup and now re-establishing care because they have insurance coverage. Of course, better than my having more work is the fact that there are people who don't have to ignore their medical conditions now and can actually see a doctor.
Love the last line especially! - VERY well put!
[ In Reply To ..]
Here it is again: Of course, better than my having more work is the fact that there are people who don't have to ignore their medical conditions now and can actually see a doctor.
And I am one of these people no longer having to pray I don't get a catastrophic illness.
Riddle me this: How does the party of FAMILY values, the GOP stand in the way of this type of progress?
Does it occur to this party that FINALLY, Americans all across the nation can TELL THE DIFFERENCE between a slogan and a POLICY that delivers?
I know I know - NK
[ In Reply To ..]
It really has nothing to do with the ACA or any other policy put forth by this administration, as evidenced by the criticism of even policies originally supported by Republicans. The disdain (I don't think I'm allowed to use the other word on this board)for President Obama has reached pathologic proportions.
Pathologic proportions for some... true - and how smart of you to
[ In Reply To ..]
concern yourself with choice of words! So much for freedom of speech and 'limited moderation of board.'
I am entertained by the creative reasons biased moderation comes up with in order to remove my comments.
Nice try, but offering clarify won't help here - because it interferes with

the agenda. Like when the 'talking points' or 'headlines' are believed without question, or even worse when a story is 'mined' for only the parts that DO meet the agenda.

Eric Holder Possible ReplacementsSep 26, 2014Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick.
Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick
Deval Patrick is one of the names consistently floated as a hypothetical replacement for Holder. Patrick worked as an assistant attorney general in the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department during the Clinton administration, and is a friend of Obama. The timing is also convenient for Patrick. He's not seeking reelection in Massachusetts and will be out of his job come January. Patrick would likely face a to ...
Eric Holder/fast And FuriousOct 04, 2011Documents obtained by CBS News prove that Holder had been receiving regular briefings on the botched sting operation as early as July, 2010. This revelation runs directly counter to testimony that Holder gave before a Congressional committee in which he claimed that he had no knowledge of the scandal before the press broke it.
Seems to me like Eric Holder may have bitten off more than he can chew on this one. Curious to see how this plays out. ...
Did Eric Holder Lie To Congress? Not Old News.May 28, 2013Why does Holder think he’s above the law? Why does he think he can get away with lying and survive? Because he’s Obama’s pal? Well, both sides are now outraged over his testimony. I certainly hope they look back into F&F again….because he was lying then, too.
The first story was posted 23 minute ago. Can it be that journalists are waking up and realizing that they have been lied to over some of these "scandals?"

11 Facts About The Eric Garner Case The Media Won't Tell YouDec 06, 2014Sources in the mainstream media expressed outrage after a grand jury declined to indict a New York City policeman in the death of Eric Garner, but there are 11 significant facts that many of them have chosen to overlook:

Silent HolderApr 10, 2012So, why is Holder so quiet? Is it another case that, as he said in the New Black Panther voter intimidation case, "demeans my people?" Holder's Not In The Clear Yet With F&FSep 22, 2012"Even if we put the best possible face on the Inspector General’s report about the “Fast and Furious” gunwalking scandal — and assume that embattled Attorney General Eric Holder knew nothing, nothing about a cockamamie operation that funneled thousands of American guns to murderous Mexican drug cartels until very late in the game — we’re still left with one stunning conclusion: Why the hell not?
