Personally I get a kick of those wild stories that end

Posted: May 15, 2011

Sometimes I'll get fairly deep into one of those weird stories before I see the comment, "Coincidence? I think NOT!" or something similar. Then I realize it's one of those conspiracy theories and I almost fell for it. It's easy to do. Sometimes I really want to believe them. It would be fun. My common sense won't let me though.

I'm unsure which post you are referring to. Also not every news story is a conspiracy theory. Reading a lot of posts below people are posting links and news stories and when others don't believe it they'll accuse the poster of belonging to a "conspiracy of the month club" or a "conspiracy theorist" all in an attempt to ridicule them just because they don't believe it, when in truth if they did a little research they would find the news story to be accurate.

Which post are you referring to?

The one that made me post about it - See message

The incident that made me post about it was an article someone had written. I was pretty far into it, thinking it was kind of a far reach to the conclusions they were making, then I saw the,

Coincidence? I think not!

That just made me think of how frequently recently I've been seeing similar conspiracy theories with that comment attached to them. Not referring to any specific post. It's kind of a 'gotcha' tagged onto the end of a message usually, in which the writer is trying to push a far out agenda. They seem to think that if they put that tagline on it, that will convince people that their strange theory is really NOT AT ALL a coincidence, but...a CONSPIRACY! Just trust them. They know more than you and I do.

Jesse Jackson Jr. does not want to answer the parlimentary rules of the house. Slaughter started yelling at the  rep from CA that he's lying. Now, Jesse is ignoring some questions.  He just ended the debate and they are voting on the Point of Order on Earmarks to Legislation (Louisianna Purchase, Cornhuskers, etc.).     ...

Wild Mushroom SoupNov 24, 2012
Just curious if you made the mushroom soup recipe I posted and that we made.  It turned out soooo good.  I did find out that hubby puts a few more doo-dads in there that aren't in the recipe.  He LOVES to cook, so he plays around a bit. He also put some mushroom powder in there, but I don't think he deviates too far from that recipe. ...

Fans Go WILD After Trump Does THIS… But Then He Was Met With Something He Never Expected This is one of the biggest Trump rallies that took place in Kissimmee, Florida. This is the same town where Hillary Clinton recently invited the father of the Orlando shooter to the rally. Not many people showed up for Hillary. Of course, Trump sold out the arena that can hold 8,000 people. The polls may be saying one thing, but this turnout says quite another. Scroll down past half page to see ...

The Wild And Free Pigs Of The Okefenokee Swamp.Oct 23, 2015
trapper from North Dakota hitched up some horses to his Studebaker wagon, packed a few possessions--especially his traps--and drove south. Several weeks later he stopped in a small town just north of the Okefenokee Swamp in Georgia. It was a Saturday morning--a lazy day--when he walked into the general store. Sitting around the pot-bellied stove were seven or eight of the town's local citizens. The traveler spoke, "Gentlemen, could you direct me to the Okefenokee Swamp?" Some of the oldtime ...

Sorry, But If The FBI Putting Out False StoriesNov 04, 2016
Was supposed to make me want to go over to the dark side (Trump), then that sure backfired for me at least. What? A bunch of old FBI guys hate Hillary (big surprise) and they are trying to screw with the election by feeding garbage nonsense to that eternally spewing idiot Giuliani (and other idiots like Rupert Murdoch, Fox News)? I can tell you this makes me even more determined to vote for Hillary. With all this talk of such corruption that all you Trumpies seem to think is going on, what th ...

7 Stories Obama Doesn't Want ToldNov 30, 2009
John F. Harris John F. Harris – Mon Nov 30, 5:45 am ET Presidential politics is about storytelling. Presented with a vivid storyline, voters naturally tend to fit every new event or piece of information into a picture that is already neatly framed in their minds. No one understands this better than Barack Obama and his team, who won the 2008 election in part because they were better storytellers than the opposition. The pro-Obama narrative featured an almost mysti ...

Watching The "debating" Here And Reading The Newspaper Stories On Gun Deaths, Etc.Jan 21, 2013
Those in the country that are for gun control seem to lump all gun deaths into the final total. I just read today where the editor of the paper pointed out that there are 30,000 gun deaths a year...but (s)he doesn't break it down to non-criminal or criminal.  Most of those deaths were caused by drug deals gone bad, drug deals, gang turf wars, etc. All people are thinking about are the 1% not caused by criminal actions, but the recent tragedy in CT has zeroed in on lumping LEGAL g ...

Are Those "Obamacare Saved My Life" Stories Jan 19, 2017
As soon as Republicans took the first steps toward repealing ObamaCare, stories started popping up all over about how ObamaCare "saved my life." CNN ran an Op-Ed called "ObamaCare saved my life. What now?" and Salon one titled "ObamaCare saved my dad's life — and then he voted for Donald Trump." Another reported on how a "Sedona cancer survivor tells Paul Ryan: 'ObamaCare saved my life'." Huffington Post had a piece about how "ObamaCare Saved My Mom's Life." The list ...
