Meanwhile Mitt toured the Southern CA - country club circuit

[ In Reply To ..]
hob knobbing with Riverside's Inland Empire Victoria Country Club snobs for lunch, then joining Balboa Bay Club & Resort zillionaires for cocktails in Newport Beach. I feel quite certain those folks could care less about the jobs report. IMO, Marilyn Katz and Bill Ayers sound like a whole lot more fun than those stuffed shirt stiffs. Never much cared for golf shirts, tennis skirts, yacht caps and rooms full of plastic surgery nip-n-tucks showing off the latest in swim suit fashions and sporting tanning booth outcomes.

Eeeeeeewwwwwwwww.

LOL, I know, right? - NM

Heh, if you don't give enough - Bill Ayers just bombs you

[ In Reply To ..]
Yeah - Sounds like a real "fun" guy. Who cares that he actually has blood on his hands. If you don't know Ayers history, explains the lack of sensitivity of your comments. If you do know Ayers history, sad statement, but hey let's crucify Mitt for AN ALLEGED hair cut 47+ years ago, and celebrate a domestic terrorists with blood on his hands that is close buds with the prez.

Obama $40,000 a plate - Hollywood fundraisers

[ In Reply To ..]
with actors/actresses, rich "folk", communists and socialists gets a total pass. Find it interesting how the libs on her skipped right over the "private" fundraiser Obama also had where everyone had to turn in cell phones, no pics allowed, no recordings so Obama could speak "freely" without "worry" of being repeated. What is Obama saying that the Americans paying the price Obama stupidity cannot hear?

Funny how the country club types only offend those that hate Romney, but Obama can play golf there endlessly, fund there endlessly with all the country club types, but then it is totally acceptable. Never saw a lib yet that was not a complete hypocrite.

It was $38,500. Prez a cheap date compared to Mitt's - $50,000 Chateaubriands at the SF Chateau

[ In Reply To ..]
Perhaps the $11,500 difference is insignificant chump change for his supporters, but for others it's worth a mention. Personally, I think the overall campaign donor comparison is a lot more interesting. As of March 2012:

Donations under $200:
Obama 53%
Romney 13%

$200 to $499
Obama 9%
Romney 4%

$500 to $1499
Obama 14%
Romney 19%

$1500 to $2499
Obama 4%
Romney 6%

Max donation of $2500 (here's where it get interesting)
Obama 19%
Romney 57%

Total donations
Obama $196,900,097
Romney $87,452,399

Obama raised more than twice the amount Romney raised with the overwhelming majority of that money coming from small donors. The opposite is true for Romney. What this means is Obama is getting a whole lot more money from a whole lot more people, and Romney is getting much less money from fewer folks, doesn't it?

The cell phone ban only applies to fundraisers held in private RESIDENCES, where the hosts have invited large crowds of complete strangers into their homes. It would make sense that, out of respect for that intimate setting, the campaign organizers decided not to turn the hosts' living rooms into a live press conference. Along those same lines, Romney might want to consider such a policy so as to impede leaks of some of his most notable gaffes, such as this doozie he unleased on a crowd of supporters down South in Alabama back in March. The degree of cluelessness is positively stunning:

"I understand how difficult it can be for an African-American in today’s society. In fact, I can relate to black people very well indeed. My ancestors once owned slaves, and it is in my lineage to work closely with the black community. However, just because they were freed over a century ago doesn’t mean they can now be freeloaders. They need to be told to work hard, and the incentives just aren’t there for them anymore. When I’m president I plan to work closely with the black community to bring a sense of pride and work ethic back into view for them."

This may come as a surprise to you, but President Obama does not join country clubs to play golf. He plays on the White House course, which was built by GOP golf enthusiast Dwight Eisenhower back in the 50s, following in the footsteps of John Kennedy, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George HW Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W Bush, who were also avid golfers. I guess they are all outrageous slackers in your estimation, huh?

As for your parting shot, it is impossible to run for office without megabucks...especially ever since GOP SCOTUS activists instituted Citizens United....so it seems perfectly logical for the president to use any and all methods and opportunities to raise cash for the campaign. President Obama has demonstrated time and time again through his efforts to promote policies aimed at addressing middle class issues where his loyalties lie. Mitt's claim that he is "concerned with the middle class" is as disingenuous as the day is long, which he clearly manifests in his lifestyle, his past record, his form of thinking, his behaviors, the company he keeps, his policies, literally every single move he makes. He is hypocrisy on steroids personified. The plantation master/slave owner comment cited above leaves no doubt in my mind.

It was $2,500 up to 50,000 - $2500 is still cheaper than $38,000

[ In Reply To ..]
Some people paid only $2500 or a little more than that. Some paid up to 50. Kind of forgot that little detail, dincha.
O appears at events where prices start at $250. - That's no typo, just one less zero.
[ In Reply To ..]
One of those $250 soirees was a prsidential 2fer where both Clinton and Obama appeared together. Like I said before, the prez is a cheap date compared to the richie-rich contender.
Cheap date only in your assessment - Obama has had
[ In Reply To ..]
plenty of multiple thousand plate dinners...try employing your Google button. Pretty sure you won't though because Obama has so many fundraisers, listing all his fundraisers at thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars a plate could turn into a full time job. That would be 1 job created by Obama's trilion dollar stimubust.
Never said he doesn't - In fact
[ In Reply To ..]
this was addressed previously when talking about how GOP SCOTUS activists' Citizens United decision took money corruption of our democratic process to a new level. What did you expect the president to do? Sit on his hands and watch the GOP try to buy and steal his seat out from under him? I think you are just miffed because he's so good and tapping into funds from both ends of the economic spectrum.

Regarding Hollywood celeb events, prices typically run high on those since the stars are hosting them in their private homes and space is limited. In spite of that drawback, I understand George Clooney's bash raised almost $15 mil, and the brilliantly inspired $3 donation raffles for prize tickets help to sweeten that pot considerably. You certainly won't find The Mittster being able to even think about competing in this particular arena, though he does have a sparse smattering of celeb supporters. I think Sarah Jessica Parker's Obama blow-out is up next in mid June.

I say back atcha. Go engage your Googler and see how many $250 events you can come up with where Mitt Gatsby actually deigned to appear in the flesh. You'll need to devote a couple of hours to this endeavor before throwing up your hands in sheer frustration, unless of course you add that zero back onto the amount you enter in the search bar. Happy hunting!

PS: $250 is not Obama's rock bottom cheap date price.
Spin, Spin. Spin - You got all the talking points

just the way Debbie Wasserman-Schultz gave them to you. She'd be proud of what a dollar can buy these days. :)
You now how the Maytags love - their spin cycle

Obama has a crap A _ S record so Obama has to attack what Romeny brings in for fundraisers. Yet Obama can have 6 fundraisers a day, hobnob with all his commie elites, charge thousands of dollars a plate, and a poster gets all hung up on knocking Obama plate charge down to $38,500 instead of $ 50,000. For these hollywood elitists, does that poster really think $ 11,500 makes a difference to them. They spend that much on their shoes, purses, suits. Obama totally out of touch.

So, Did Everyone Hear Obama's Open Mic Night?Apr 16, 2011
It was all over the news and all over the 'net. To me he sounded pretty egotistical in the one paragraph, but the comment that shocked me (highlighted in yellow) was later on in this article: CHICAGO - President Obama gave supporters in Chicago a glimpse of insider Washington during a fund-raiser the other day, privately critiquing House Republicans, government workers, even the White House telephones. The words weren't that newsworthy, but their delivery had the White House a little ...

Afghanistan And Horse Comment By Obama Last NightOct 23, 2012
Here's a story and link of the following: Although the glory days of the United States Cavalry are long gone, horses still serve the military. At Smith Lake Stables, adjacent to Fort Bragg, N.C., 36 horses are owned by the U.S. government and serve their country in two assignments. In one assignment, they act as equine ambassadors, linking the civilian public to the military. The horses are used in an annual summer camp program and in weekly day camp activities for home-schooled kids. But ...

Rules For RadicalsOct 12, 2013
Can you not see how they abuse their power yet? This is what I am sure they keep in their desks. Here is the complete list from Alinsky. * RULE 1: “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.” Power is derived from 2 main sources – money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood. (These are two things of which there is a plentiful supply. Government and corporations always have a difficult time appealing to people, and usually do so almo ...

Dick Armey Distributes Saul Alinky's "Rules For Radicals" To Tea Party LeadersMay 08, 2015
*Edited - I originally stated it was Dick Armey instead of William F. Buckley who called Saul Alinsky an organizational genius and that is inaccurate, my apologies. However, the rest of this post is accurate (according to the Wall St. Journal) Tea Partier, Dick Armey, distributes Alinksy's "Rules for Radicals" to Tea Party Leaders. Adam Brandon, a Tea Party protest organizer, also distributes the book to Tea Party leaders, and even created a shorter guide to distribute to the entire ...

I Think Both Parties Are WrongJan 02, 2013
Not only did they extend the tax cuts but they pushed back spending cuts.  Both wrong in my opinion.  Get rid of the tax cuts...let them expire for everyone.  Why are they pushing back spending cuts?  Isn't our biggest problem our debt and yet they push back spending cuts?  HUH?  Isn't that a tad counter productive to getting down our debt?  I am so disgusted with any and all politicians.  I'm to the point where I don't believe either p ...

Starting a new thread because the old one is too hard to follow any more. You've got me doing more googling than I ever intended but that is a good thing.  Total cost of health care in this country was up to 2.3 trillion a couple of years ago and undoubtedly higher now.  Frivolous law suits accounted for only 1 to 1.5% of the costs and unnecessary tests an even smaller percentage at 6.8 billion.  I couldn't copy the link but if you google frivolous lawsuits health care ...

Date NightDec 11, 2011
About to head out with DH for a nice Italian dinner. Just wondering how many MTs try to fit in a date night with the DH/SO/partner every month or so. We definitely try to, although sometimes turns into two, three or even more months. It's certainly something I look forward to! Last Night's SOTUJan 29, 2014
Well, I thought the President basically lacked passion last night. Nothing he said was with conviction like we've seen in the past. I did not find him believable. The only positive thing I really heard was that he seemed to acknowledge that the economy had not improved during his 5 years in office and he wanted the CEOs of the country to pay their people more money (obviously, I'm paraphrasing here). Hopefully, the CEOs of the MTSOs will take heed and listen to the Commander in Ch ...
