Obama Faces Potential Rifts With Democrats In Mounting Immigration Fight

Posted: Aug 17, 2014

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is facing potential rifts with members of his own party in tough re-election contests as he barrels toward a fall fight with Republicans over his ability to change immigration policies.

If Obama takes the broadest action under consideration — removing the threat of deportation for millions of people in this country illegally — the short-term risks appear greatest for Senate Democrats in conservative-leaning states. Weeks before the November vote, they could find themselves on the hot seat for their views not only on immigration but also on Obama's use of his presidential powers.

Wary of what could be coming, some of those lawmakers have said Obama should act with caution.

You can follow through on this by googling that German phrase shown at the bottom of the video. It's completely taken out of context. Some of you on this board may know that I'm not a fan of our president, but this is an unfair assassination of his character.

I tried to Google it and got nothing which - is why I asked

My guess is that he is describing some part of German history.

Just because you can get the words to come out of someone's mouth, does not mean that is their belief, and I am disappointed that we are wasting our time on this sort of discussion.

If you want to discuss real socialism and whether or not the policies of the current government or the upcoming democrats/libertarians or others have socialist leanings, do so, but this is nonproductive.
Try googling some quotes of his speech. - NPC

I had received this in an email in the past and I don't remember exactly how I was able to debunk it, but I know that I googled a German phrase. As far as your other comments, I think they are misdirected. I did not post this original message. Therefore, your other comments should be directed to the original poster.

Evidently, you didn't read the article?

A Florida Republican congressional candidate’s campaign sign was vandalized with whiteface paint last week in a district with overwhelmingly Democratic voter registration. The attack follows a string of bias incidents against black Republicans.

Please note "IN A DISTRICT WITH OVERWHELMINGLY DEMOCRATIC VOTER REGISTRATION." Also note that Smith (the Republican candidate) is running against Brown (a DEMOCRAT) that has been in office for 20 years.

"The incident follows a recent pattern of racist attacks by both liberal media and anonymous thugs against black Republican candidates, officials and office holders."

Before you posted the article, I think you should have read it or else understand it. As one liberal put it to me a couple months ago, "Reading is fundamental" yet, the liberal (a/k/a she)was bombarded by others who read the article in question too (not on this site) because she totally misread (to put it nicely) the article. She tried to "twist the facts" as truth. She later apologized to everyone and admitted She was wrong.

Have a nice day.
Here's the Rush Limbaugh quote - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Despicably attributing the purported unhappiness of the left with Robin Williams' suicide, equivocating the two because Robin Williams had such liberal views. And, just to cover all the despicable bases, his divorces, his puported financial distress, having to take "lesser" roles...anything but depression and then later it comes out he had first stages of Parkinson's.

What the right doesn't like is that we listened to it and we made conclusions and then retold our view of what we heard. That is a reaction to his words.

The above-mentioned words from Obama are just bizarrely taken from some unknown speech, somewhere that cannot be defined. No words around it, no meaning. I'd said somebody put together a string of words and made up a video.

it was cut off before he finished talking about Robin Williams. Strange, too, that another video cut the sound track off at the SAME point. Something is funny there. I don't listen to Rush, I don't watch his videos, and I don't (usually) go to his website but I wanted to find out what was said after those videos cut out at the same point. IMO, Rush wasn't bringing out anything despicable....it was the MEDIA.

Here are the sentences after his ".....leftists judging the country" line: It's outcome-based education: 2 + 2 = 5. "That's fine until the student learns it's 4. We're not gonna humiliate the student by pointing out that he's wrong. If he figures it out, cool. We're gonna take the fast learners and we're gonna slow them down so that they don't humiliate the kids that don't learn as fast as they do. It's just not fair."

Then he goes on worried about the media glorifying his death and states:"I just really hope that this coverage does not spawn copycats, because the coverage is fawning and glorious, and positive. You have so many people on social media who so desperately want fame. You know it and I know it."

He went on some more about some of the stupid questions asked by the media at the press conference, especially this one:
"Well, uh, is it possible he could come back to life and -- and...?"

"Sir, he committed suicide by hanging. That's the preliminary information we have."

"Well, what do you mean, 'preliminary'?"

"Well, when we finish the investigation, we'll have a final determination."

Does the above show stupidity in the media? I think so.

He's calling out the media on glorifying Robin Williams' death.
So he's calling out Faux News, since that's - his source for this? - nm

want copycats to Robin Williams suicide.

He pointed out during the PRESS CONFERENCE (IOW, more than one reporter was there), questions which were truly stupid that the media asked the man holding the press conference. He DID NOT state it was Fox News that did that. He did point out a STORY that Fox News ran, and oddly enough, I went to the link he posted and it did NOT have the Fox logo, which made me suspicious. It was called Fox 411 and the story was by Holly McKay. Now, SHE reported this:

"Robin was very depressed. His TV series got cancelled, his last film 'The Angriest Man in Brooklyn' hardly opened," one insider told FOX411. "He was in a funk."

So, this reporter quoted "ONE INSIDER" and she wrote the above, plus other stuff. Maybe you should ask HER who reported the above quote?

If you didn't understand what else I had posted, here it is again:
RUSH: This poor guy out in San Rafael, California, who's having to deal with questions from the media? He said, "Last question," about five times, but he keeps getting such stupid questions, he feels duty-bound to answer them. The last question I heard before I had to return here to the busy broadcast was,

REPORTER: "Was his death accidental?"

"Uh, no, sir. Suicide is an intentional, intentful act. It isn't an accident. Last question."

REPORTER: "Well, where was his wife at 10:30 last night?"

"I don't know where Mrs. Williams was, and I wouldn't tell you if I did."

REPORTER:"Well, uh, is it possible he could come back to life and -- and...?"

"Sir, he committed suicide by hanging. That's the preliminary information we have."

REPORTER: "Well, what do you mean, 'preliminary'?"

"Well, when we finish the investigation, we'll have a final determination."

REPORTER:"You mean -- you mean...?"

"Sir, it just means that everything is normal here.

Now, in another column, he called out a few more media reporting Robin Williams' death and they were taking Rush out of concept just like posters on this board did:

"...Media Matters types and the American left, including Politico and Mediaite, just revel in taking me out of context and misrepresenting me purposely and on purpose because it feeds their template or narrative about me."

Obama's Incoherent Immigration SpeechNov 22, 2014
