OMG! Alan GRAYSON??? Who was crazy enough to vote him in?

He was so hateful during his last stint in Congress. Did people forget how bad he was? He really had gone off the deep end. I can't believe he was voted back in. By who? Young people who never saw his antics? People who didn't want to spend time splitting votes and just hit straight D?

A serious question: Why did they call the election for Obama around 11:00 or so, when some states only had 3% of the vote in? That doesn't seem right to me. What do they do--put a time limit on vote counts? Do they count it by who gets to 270 votes first? If on or the other of my last 2 questions are true, then why? It definitely means that the people really have no say.

In fact, FL, SC, MI, CA, and OR are still counting ballots, some as late as 10 a.m. EST. All those states (excluding CA) have a total of 67 electoral votes. Romney would have had more than 270 votes.

Would someone like to explain this (especially about calling the election for Obama that early).

Sounds like people in his district thought those were GOOD things after all--after dabbling with a tea-partyer and not liking it so much.

BTW, did you read my post about studies finding that the Tea Party was now mostly made up of authoritarian followers and their leaders? If you did, you can imagine--NOT a good thing.

(Not the mention the little reality that these days the Hunt brothers and other wealthy white men are largely financing the tea-partiers and pulling their strings. Of course. Where there are auth followers, there will be opportunists eager to put them to use.)

I remember watching CSPan and seeing him throwing "hissy fits" and they weren't pretty. I remember hearing him spew such hatred for the other side that I was so glad he was gone. I was hoping that, with him gone, things would settle down in Congress, but that surely didn't happen. Now he's back and I wonder if he's going to keep on his destructive nasty side. Only time will tell.

to float a TP candidate against him in a brand new district who's demographics break down to 42% non-Hispanic whites, outnumbered by the cumulative count of Hispanics and non-Hispanic minorities. Grayson's comeback is quite stunning, regardless. He lost in 2010 by 18 points, then proceeded to come back with a 24-point lead (according to latest counts)....an incredible swing of 42 points. He outperformed his challenger in terms of fundraising 44 (2012's magic number)-to-1, small donations for the most part which, in case you haven't realized by now, represents larger numbers of actual voting folks than huge non-voting corporation contributions. So, who's crazy now?

The explanation for the early call was a simple matter of the math, which was explained in excruciating detail to a stunned Karl Rove by one of his more level-headed Fox sidekicks (yes, I switched channels to watch that phase, after grabbing a refreshed bowl of hot buttered popcorn). Rove was in utter denial, which is understandable considering how much money was lost under his watch in the midst of the losing strategy of superpacomania. The outstanding votes remaining in the count were heavily weighted in democrat saturation zones by more than a 3:1 margin. Impossible = impossible. It was the right call, as we can all now see.
