We have an older neighbor (probably in his mid to late 70s.). He has a leaf blower and boy is it loud. Every day (with the exception of maybe 1 or 2 days a week (2 if we are lucky, usually just 1 day off) he's walking up and down our street blowing the leaves in everyones yard, the sidewalks and the road. He's also hunched over and when he's going at it he doesn't look at anything except the leaves on the ground. He doesn't look up, around, nothing. Just concentrating on all the leaves he keeps blowing around. When there are no leaves he's out using it to blow the dirt out of the middle of the street. This is so loud its like listening to vacuum cleaner all day (he wears industrial sized ear gear - like what you see at an airport what the guys where that direct planes. Anyway....last week we were having severe storms. Rain and high winds (got up to 45 mph). Branches of trees were falling off into the street and yards. Well guess what.... Yup...there he is out there blowing the leaves off the side walk and out of the street (we have a street sweeper that comes by once a week), but guess he felt the road was too dirty and so he is blowing all the dirt down the road. He's out there from early morning until dinner. I thought it was bad enough when he was blowing the leaves with the high gusts of wind and tree branches falling. No tonight (in the dark - we also have no street lights), he is out in the middle of the road with his lawmower mowing over the leaves that are in the street and on the sidewalks. It's freakin dark outside!!!. There are no lights on his mower, he's not wearing head gear with a light or anything to see. We look out and all we see is this dark figure going up and down the road (we know its him because he has been out there all day doing this), but in the dark? Really? How can you see? There are rocks in the road. If you hit one of them with the blade there is a chance it will bounce off the blade and go flying through someones window (or worse a human if they are walking by). It's now about 7 pm (pitch black) and he just stopped. Does anyone else have anyone like this? Do you think this is crazy or normal behavior? Just was curious and needed to vent my frustration.
