It's time to finally grasp the truth about Islam, which is that in terms of the end-goal of establishing a world-wide caliphate, there is no disagreement between "radical Muslims" and so-called "peaceful" or "moderate" Muslims. Around 75% of Muslims worldwide believe in and yearn for a worldwide caliphate.
Among Muslims, the only difference between "radicals" and "moderates" is disagreement about what method(s) should be employed to achieve this objective, but what is not in dispute is that the infidels must be brought under submission to the law and will of Allah.
This is the goal of Islam, and it is the duty of Muslims to work toward that end.
While spectacular methods such as bombings, beheadings, etc. draw our attention, we must not be distracted from the fundamental nature of Islam. Islam is not "one of the world's great religions" as is so often stated - at least in the eyes of Muslims - and is not interested in coexisting with any other belief systems.
Islam considers itself to be THE religion, as well as THE ideal form of government.
While some Muslims will use terroristic methods, others will use methods of deception, deceit and even the infiltration of non-Muslim societies and the subversion of their democratic processes. The Q'uran blesses any and all means of "conversion" of infidels, whether by force or otherwise, that a Muslim might find necessary or useful.
While we focus on the horrific activities of "radicals", others are quietly, patiently but determinedly and systematically hijacking the instruments of democratic governments.
Be not deceived. Islam IS the enemy of democracy, Islam IS the enemy of every other religion on earth, and Islam INTENDS TO PREVAIL.
We in the West cannot conceive of the idea of any religion forcing itself on others (we do not even think it is possible) and we find the idea itself abhorent, presuming that others do as well. As such, we are inclined to ignore warnings regarding Islam in this regard, believing such warnings to be misguided at best, or "hysterical", "alarmist", etc. at worst. We are far more ready to slay the messenger than to heed the message.
Know this: Muslims do NOT find the idea of coerced conversion abhorent, and if we fail to grasp this fundamental fact about Islam, or to realize that coercion can take many forms which are not violent, the caliphate will be built bit by bit, one brick at a time, while we sleep.
The next time you see or hear a "moderate" Muslim in the media, piously decrying the acts of "radical" Muslims, you must not interpret this to mean that they disagree with the basic motivation that lies behind such acts.
