Iraq

I'm glad the president has FINALLY decided to do something about ISIS in Iraq and hopefully stop the genocide of the Christians. He never should've withdrawn ALL the troops. I hope we're not too late in our aid.

;

I thought he told us we were leaving behind a stable and - self reliant Iraq? This chaos

[ In Reply To ..]
One of the main reasons king, dictator, or whatever you're calling O today got elected was to get most troops out of Iraq,which was a promise kept not only to us but to the Iraqi people as well. If you blame anyone in Iraq for the mess there, maybe it should be the (puppet?)government that I believe the Iraquis themselves "voted" in. Whether you like it or not, Iraq did not become our 51st state.

Yeah, a 51st state that is getting most of the infrastructure money ... - me

It was because Osama Bin Ladin took down the twin towers, right? But he was in Afghanistan and something about weapons of mass destruction--oh, it all gets too complicated.

Let's just blame it on Obama.

[ In Reply To ..]
Does the President really tell the children to pick up their toys and bring them home with them or is that possibly some other division of government that might be responsible for that decision and military equipment?

We apparently left plenty in Afghanistan with the Afghani rebels fighting Soviet Union that have been used against us later also.

Oh, wait, maybe we left it with the Iraqi government to use to keep control of their country.

Once we were put into the position of having to determine another puppet government for Iraq (after Pres. Bush destabilized Iraq to begin with) we then had to try to train and arm a government and finally leave them there to govern themselves (with advisors still left behind). Iraq is not an American colony, we do not own them and we will not decide their lives. I, for one, have no interest in American citizens guarding and protecting the people of Iraq permanently. At some point they will have to sort this out on their own. Can't believe the oxymoron - but Humanitarian bombing is appropriate at this point.

Can you imagine if this man had been president during - the Holocaust? How far

[ In Reply To ..]

Nine months ago Obama was begging Congress to be ISIS’s Air Force in Syria against Assad. That should be shouted from every rooftop!

Maybe BO can negotiate with the terrorists overtaking Iraq and broker a deal to reduce our fuel prices. He didn't listen to all of the military opinions before his premature withdrawal and look what happened, just what many military experts predicted. Thanks, Mr. President, for undoing what was done. Also, Iraq was apparently recently begging the WH for military strikes against the terrorists, but he declined. I guess he was busy on the links that day. ...
