I sure hope Trump runs

His canidancy would be the best thing ever!!!

Trump is tied for second place in WS Journal/NBC poll - for Pub candidate. nm

[ In Reply To ..]

That is so laughable. Surely there is someone better qualified - Unbelievable!

[ In Reply To ..]
This is just too hard to believe. Surely there has got to be someone credible. The guy makes money being a joke. He makes money talking about how he's the best. Nobody actually believes it or is supposed to believe it.

When Trump was trying to drum up publicity - he used Martha Stewart and Rosie O'Donnell

[ In Reply To ..]
Guess he needed to move on to a bigger celebrity to boost those sagging ratings.

Did you see his latest Apprentice show? - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
I was going to watch it, but it was vulgar. Even the commercials for it were tasteless. I think we can do better.
I LOVE Apprentice! - nm

Trump to run please - that would be the best - not republican or democrat - just want to work

[ In Reply To ..]
nm

I was just watching his interview with the Today Show - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
and honestly I liked what he said. I was just sitting here thinking I think I would vote for him if he ran for president. Never thought Trump would be a president candidate, but this world is forever changing right before our eyes.

We need someone like Trump - see message

Seems like this is so far down on the board unsure if anyone will see it, but wanted to reply.

I've listened to Donald Trump interviewed many different times. I do like what he says. He's a straight forward business man. He knows how to run a business. He's had his ups and downs (no worse than the down the country is in right now), but what's more important is he learns from his mistakes and he knows how to fix them. He is very intelligent when it comes to politics and issues. He knows foreign policies and deals with other countries all the time. And most important is he knows how to create jobs. Something no career politician knows how to do. He is the only person that would work with both parties because he isn't "party line". He would do what is needed to be done and not give a hoot whether its a republican or democrat thing. We need someone to work with both parties because we don't have that now. Also, Mr. Trump isn't a "career politician" so therefore would do what is the best thing for the country and the people of the country instead of worrying about his own career and providing only for himself. He would hire the best people for the job in cabinet positions, etc. and not who gives him the biggest payoff (not referring to money). He wouldn't be the puppet of the puppet masters who are running our country.

Right now the last four years have been h*ll and it just keeps getting worse, and after the Bush years it just keeps spiraling downward. We need a good leader and I think Mr. Trump is that person. He knows how to lead and is an inspiration for our children. I truly hope he is serious about running. He is what our country needs to get us back to being a prosperous country and the country that everyone wants to immigrate to. He truly cares about the country and that is just something we need right now.

And who cares about his hair, the apprentice or any of the other personal attacks on him. I like him. He's smart and honest and we really need that change right now.

If Trump can't be honest about his HAIR... - ME

[ In Reply To ..]
If Trump can't be honest about his HAIR... how are we supposed to trust him on anything?

Please no primadonna's in the White House.

Here we go again with politics of personal - destruction. What the

[ In Reply To ..]
heck matters about the man's hair or the lack thereof. Obama has been caught in lies, Wasserman-Schultz has been caught in lies about important issues, they get a buy. Trump can't be honest about his hair? Seriously???

Trumpâs Hawaii Investigation - sm

Trump’s Hawaii Investigation

Magnate tells “Today” he has people in the Aloha State conducting on-the-ground research into the president’s birthplace.

MEREDITH VIEIRA:
So, is the time right now for you?

DONALD TRUMP:
Well, the time certainly is right. We’re a laughing stock as a country throughout the world. We’re being taken advantage of by other countries

***

MEREDITH VIEIRA:
If you were President, would keep a military presence in Iraq indefinitely.

DONALD TRUMP:
Let me just say something. There’s nobody more militaristic than me, but it’s also called attack the right target. Iran is going to take over Iraq, because we have de-neutered Iraq, you know that, in terms of their military. They’re gonna take them over very quickly as soon as we leave. If that’s gonna happen, they’re gonna take over the oil fields. The second biggest oil fields in the world. And if that’s gonna happen, I say we take over the oil fields…I would take over the oil fields, because otherwise, Iran is gonna take over the second biggest oil fields in the world. I would absolutely, without question, not leave that section of that country. I would take the oil. To the victor belong the spoils. You know, in the old days, you’d have a war. And you’d be in there. And you’d win. And you’d take over the country. Whether it’s oil or gold or whatever. You take over the country.

MEREDITH VIEIRA:
Okay. Are you saying if you were President, you would take us out of Afghanistan?

DONALD TRUMP:
Well, nothing’s simple. Because I don’t believe in foot soldiers. They get blown up on streets. But I do believe in airplanes that are 50,000 feet up. And when we see through intelligence what’s going on, knock the hell out. Oh, by the way, I’m much more militaristic than Obama. He got the Nobel Peace Prize, but, you know, I think they’re probably rethinking that one, every time he seizes a country. The problem is he seizes countries, but he doesn’t win….I’m not gonna have soldiers walking down on the street and get blown up and get shot at by snipers and killed, so we have to call the parents and say, "Your son was just killed on a street in Afghanistan." But those people will have a lot more problems with me than they’re having right now. But I do it through the air and we’re not gonna have casualties.

***

MEREDITH VIEIRA:
Do you think given all the issues that this country is facing that this is something that resonates with the public? That they care about this?

DONALD TRUMP:
The Constitution of the United States…great document. And you agree with it?

MEREDITH VIEIRA:
Yeah, sure.

DONALD TRUMP:
It says you have to be born in this country. Essential. Have to be born in this country, okay? If he wasn’t born in this country, he has conned the whole world.

MEREDITH VIEIRA:
But you’re saying it’s a con. That’s what you’re saying.

DONALD TRUMP:
I’m not saying anything. I’m saying--

MEREDITH VIEIRA:
Sure you are.

DONALD TRUMP:
I am saying I want to see the birth certificate. It’s very simple. I want to see the birth certificate. How come his own family doesn’t know which hospital he was born in? How come-- forget about birth certificates. Let’s say there’s no birth certificate. How come in the hospital itself, okay? This is one of the…in the hospital itself, there’s no records of his birth. In other words, it doesn’t say how much they paid, where is the doctor, here’s your room bill. You know, all the

MEREDITH VIEIRA:
You’ve been privy to all of this to know this?

DONALD TRUMP:
Well, I have people that actually have been studying it and they cannot believe what they’re talking.

MEREDITH VIEIRA:
You have people now out there searching-- I mean, in Hawaii?

DONALD TRUMP:
Absolutely. And they cannot believe what they’re finding. And I’m serious--

***

MEREDITH VIERA:
You criticized Obama quite a bit in this interview and in the past. What do you think he has done well?

DONALD TRUMP:

I think the thing that he did best of all, is get elected. Get elected. He ran an unbelievable campaign although, in the end, Hillary was beating him in every state. It was pretty-- I mean, by the end, I think people were maybe getting wise. And, you have to understand, I want Obama to do well. I don't dislike him. I never met him….

If I had my choice of having Obama do great as a president, and do a really great job for this country, and not running, as opposed to running - I'd prefer that he did a great job. I love this country. But, this country is going to hell.

***

MEREDITH VIERA:
Among those potential Republican candidates, can you point to any of them and say, "That person would be a fine president"?

DONALD TRUMP:
Well, you know, it's funny. They've all treated me so nicely. They've been so great… I'm not gonna go on any individual, but I will tell you I understand them. I know many of them…

I know this. I will be better than anybody. I will do the best job. If I decide to run, I will do the best job. I will be best for this country. And, you may say, "Oh, gee, that doesn't sound like George Washington." Well, guess what? Before George Washington ran, he didn't sound like George Washington either. I will be and do a great job, if I run and if I win.

I think he's playing all of you Republicans and doing a really good job of it - lol

[ In Reply To ..]
He's doing what he does best, and "some" Republicans are falling for it.

Bachmann would be better. Maybe Bachmann/Trump - me

[ In Reply To ..]
But I think Obama has the election wrapped up no matter who the pubs put up.

Don't count your chickens. - nm

[ In Reply To ..]
nm

I don't know if he does or not, but I would be embarrased to think - that this is all the Republicans have to offer

[ In Reply To ..]
Just look at the group! Is this truly the best they have to offer? Is there no person with dignity and credibility, and yes, I do believe President Obama has dignity and credibility. He isn't perfect, of course, but Donald Trump? Neut Gingrich? Michelle Bachman? Sarah Palin? Might as well add the Republican heroes Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. They don't make the list any worse.

Okay, after that very partisan comment of mine, I truly hope that whoever they offer is a person of knowledge, substance, and common sense. In my opinion that is still missing from the list. I hope they will keep looking, because I would like to see a real contest with two candidates, Obama and the Republican candidate, who can seriously be considered.

You've got to be kidding - I see you don't - want republicans to win

[ In Reply To ..]
Keep bring her name up as though she is a viable candidate and the republicans have just lost. Bachmann has no experience. Look what happened this last election with picking someone with no experience. The press and democrats will eat her alive. I don't care how much someone likes her. SHE IS NOT QUALIFIED. Pick Trump with someone else. Someone who has the experience, knows foreign policies, understands economics 101, and has excellent ideas. Backmann is nether of them.

And then on top of that you add to the insult by putting her name first????

Have people lost all sense of reality? Don't you want republicans to win? Guess not.

Palin would be better because she is smarter - Also she served as Governor sort of

[ In Reply To ..]
Palin would be a better choice.

Her popularity just plummeted from latest polls - Nope

[ In Reply To ..]
She's out. They're dropping like flies. Trump is as good as they've got.

Which beats what is in the White House hands - down. At least he

[ In Reply To ..]
at least he has run several successful businesses at a profit. And before someone brings up the one lone business of his that went bankrupt...let me remind you that that is where this country is headed with Obama at the wheel at a HIGH rate of speed!

I am for anyone who knows how to balance - a checkbook and I have

[ In Reply To ..]
yet to see a Democrat politician who has even the foggiest notion about how important that is.

That kind of overgeneralization isn't helpful and America is tired of it - Tired of overgeneralization and bully type overrea

[ In Reply To ..]
This silliness of the Birthers and the Tea partiers, etc., is bringing our country down. We aren't able to focus on fixing what is broken because the Tea Party wants to shut down the government because, like spoiled children, they didn't get their way.

OH COME ON. Show me where the - Democrats have shown

[ In Reply To ..]
one IOTA of concern about the deficit (Obama's budget is 3.something TRILLION), cutting spending...or ANY of that. THey haven't. All they have done, much like you are doing here, is run around in circles screeching crazy tea partiers and crazy birthers.

It is NOT an overgeneralization that this country is bad in need of someone who understands that you need to STOP the hemorrhaging and cut back what you are spending. Sorry, friend, but your party has not demonstrated the ability to understand that in the least.

Hmmm....Democrats ran in Wisconsin like spoiled children who did not get their way. Obama and the Democrats are now willing to shut down the government because they don't want what passed in the house, like spoiled children they did not get their way.

You post this stuff like people are actually going to believe it, like they have no idea what is going on, that somehow they are deficient and just don't understand what those crazy birthers and tea partiers are trying to get away with. It is that kind of arrogant assumptions on the Dems' part that handed them the midterm whipping and will do it to them again.

Unbelievable!! STILL you go down that road.
The last president to budget well was President Clinton - nm

If you are talking about the surplus myth - google it. Debunked years
[ In Reply To ..]
ago. Also, he didn't have 9-11 to contend with. That makes a big difference.

That being said...I wasn't pleased with what GWB spent. I am less pleased with the man who has made himself look like Bush on steroids.

tell me why the Dems - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
didn't do a budget when they were required to do so? And the other groups are acting like spoiled children? NO - it's the other way around. The ADULTS are in the room now and having to make some tough decisions - because the Dems didn't want to do it.

Trump/Ventura - Dream Ticket!

LOL

Obama/Biden ticket..NIGHTMARE ticket and - no LOL at all. nm

[ In Reply To ..]

Ventura, the former wrestling star? Great choice! - I agree

[ In Reply To ..]
That would be the perfect combination. They can have meetings where they tell each other how great they are. They can talk about their reality shows. They have a great deal in common. That really would be the ideal combination.

Thank you. - nm

Actually I like that. Trump is intelligent and - Ventura is honest

[ In Reply To ..]
Trump is also honest. And Ventura is intelligent too.

I think they'd be a great ticket.

He has now lost all credibility - But He Gets Lots of Attention Which Is His Goal

[ In Reply To ..]
He wants attention. He thrives on it. He makes money because of it.

Sorry, but there is no way Trump would get as far as the nomination. - Zville MT

[ In Reply To ..]
Personally, I think he's doing this as a publicity stunt - his ego is huge and needs a lot of stroking and he's certainly getting it. If by some strange chance he does decide to run, there is NO WAY he's going to get the nomination. I don't care what polls place him in what place - it's not going to happen.

I agree that it won't fly, but I so wish he would be nominated - We need a little frivolity and entertainment

[ In Reply To ..]
Can you imagine how much fun it would be? Add Palin or Bachman to the mix and it would be so much fun to watch the news, before they went on to the news with more content and substance, which would bring us all back to reality (not reality shows).

I Hope Trump Gets Enough Electoral VotesOct 24, 2016
I see no purpose to the electoral college if we the people vote. It nearly cancels out the largest majority for whatever candidate wins. They have to have enough electoral votes. What I don't understand is does the one with the most electoral votes win even if they didn't get the most actual votes from the people? I say we need to do away with that and super packs and all else that causes one to buy an election. I think we should go back to paper ballots too. I am sick to death o ...
