I am confused by the polls showing...sm

Posted: Oct 30, 2010

Americans flocking to vote out the Democrats but when questioned about the issues mostly agree with the Democratic party platform, not extending tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, financial reform, etc.  I could not believe my neighbor saying he was voting for a Tea Party candidate because he is mad at Obama for not going far enough with healthcare and having a public option.  Huh?  If that isn't "cutting off your nose to spite your face" I don't know what is.  I can't help but think that this narrow minded thinking will come back to bite people in the hind end.

Well...that is your neighbor. - sm

Most people voting against Obama and the democrats are conservative people who feel government is spending way too much money and that government has too much control over things it shouldn't control at all. The biggest concern is fiscal responsibility and as much as democrats want to point the finger at Bush....democrats have yet to demonstrate that they are any better handling our money. If your neighbor is for a more left leaning government, he is shooting himself in the foot by voting republican. However, your neighbor's ingorance will help us get democrats out of Washington and that makes me happy. ;)

POLLS POLLS AND MORE POLLSMay 11, 2014
The breakdown is hard to follow here, but it's one of the polls in favor of keeping OCARE and/or improving it. Predictably it runs along partisan lines - 6 in 10 Repubs with a thumbsdown. The polls will go back in forth I'm sure but a firm majority say keep it or improve it and I  see that majority growing as time goes on. ...

closure of Gitmo. Our friends at Judicial Watch uncovered key emails that showed requests for special treatment. Our FOIA requests take the next step: What happened next? Here’s a summary of what we know. In one set of emails, Doug Band, a senior Clinton Foundation official, forwarded a request for “a favor” for someone who apparently had joined former-President Bill Clinton and United Nations Secretary-General Ban ki-Moon on an infamous trip to Haiti in 2009. That person’s name ...

drunk and unbearably obnoxious.  When he is sober, he is a complete ass.  So add alcohol to that and it's awful.  He is loud, overly animated (throwing himself back in the bleachers, banging his fist on the bleachers, etc), arguing with umps, criticizing the coach, and making snide comments about other players.  I don't/won't sit anywhere near him, but I feel awful that the other parents are having to put up with him and I feel sick that my daughter has to suff ...

French Far Right Looks For Gains In Regional PollsMar 22, 2015
France's National Front, one of the most powerful populist far right parties in Europe, eyed significant gains against President Francois Hollande's ruling socialists in regional elections Sunday. The elections' first round got under way at 8:00 am (0700 GMT) across 101 "departments", which control issues such as school and welfare budgets. For the National Front, Sunday was a chance to punish the Socialists and get up a head of steam for presidential elections in 2017 that ...

Trump Is Going To Beat Cruz In Indiana According To PollsMay 01, 2016
Looks like Cruz/Kasich plan backfired and that very plot may have caused voters to shift to Trump.  Then after he lost 5 states to Trump he went on to name a running mate, Carly Fiorina in a last ditch effort to gain women voters.  How stupid did Cruz think voters are?    Texas Sen. Ted Cruz admits he’s putting all his eggs into Indiana, but a new poll suggests a win Tuesday in the Hoosier State’s Republican presidential primary against front-runner Donald Tr ...
