Gallup: ObamaCare approval hits new low

Posted: Nov 17, 2014

Are people finally starting to wake up from their Obamacare blunder, oops, I mean slumber?

;

I love Obamacare. I pray every night we can keep it. - Government isn't run by Gallup.

It's the first time my husband has had health insurance for a very long time.

Typical: "I got mine and screw all the rest of you." - I LOST my insurance thanks to Obamacare.

[ In Reply To ..]
...and so did a lot of other people. For others, if they still have insurance, it totally sucks, with HIGHER premiums, HIGHER deductibles and WAY, WAY FEWER CHOICES OF PROVIDERS, sometimes located miles away. Fewer drugs paid for, more hoops to jump through to get approvals for procedures, you name it.

I wish there were a country where the selfish gimme-gimme people in this country could be deported and leave the rest of us alone. Oh, wait. You could never have a country like that because there would be no one for the gimme-gimme's to take it from.

So you have absolutely no health insurance right now? - Really?

[ In Reply To ..]
Not through your employer? Not through healthcare.gov? I would really love to know the sequence of events of how this occurred and how you can directly attribute this to Obamacare. Because the whole health insurance paradigm has been sucky a for looong time, long before Obamacare.

Oh, and my family pays taxes. But my husband was just sick enough that he hasn't qualified for disability, but because of preexisting conditions he couldn't get insurance. Now he can. It's been a godsend.

And you know what? I would much rather my tax dollars go to people in this country who are in need than to "nation-building" in Iraq and Afghanistan. How about yourself? Do you like your tax dollars going to foreign countries?
I said I lost my insurance. Sure, I have CrappaCare now. - And it stinks. I might never see a dime from it.
[ In Reply To ..]
Because the deductible is nearly $5,000. That means I get to pay my premiums which are $130 higher than they were, plus the $5,000 before I get a dime.

Are you paying attention to what's going on in this country or not?
if you lost your insurance, it's not because of Obamacare - please explain

Personal attack not necessary and you - misunderstand

And since I don't tattle and the moderator does nothing about these comments from one side, we are left to defend ourselves and each other.

The commenter you are referring to was just expressing gratitude her husband had insurance after not having it and prayer. She did not say "screw you" as you say.

As for your insurance, I'm sorry that happened to you, but think this through. Obamacare was set up to be a competitor to insurance companies who were already overcharging so that rates would come down, rather than try to regulate them through Congress which would never pass (lobbyists with politicians in their back pockets).

Insurance companies instead raised their rates claiming it was because of Obamacare, but in fact, it's a strategy to force people to blame Obamacare, get it removed through politicians (through lobbyists) and keep overcharging anyway, as they once were, now without regulation or censure or even fair competition.
I don't "misunderstand" jack. The sole criteria that - was given for her "satisfaction"
[ In Reply To ..]
...was that her husband has insurance. That's hardly the standard by which anyone should judge the overall impact of Obamacare on this nation.

62% of us want this stinking pile of garbage out of here - and the rest of you are in the minority. You might take 30 seconds and investigate just why that might be the case.
Research this. - sm

It's been reported that Obama and the insurance companies are allies, which translates to mean there is no competition and there is no way that costs will go down. Plain and simple, this is just another example of Obama's destruction of America.
"Reported" by slanted publications doesn't make it fact - it's still speculation
[ In Reply To ..]
If you have some indisputable proof from these publications where "it's been reported" that Obama is league with the companies, I'll listen because I'm believe most politician get kickbacks.

However, if you can produce indisputable evidence that "Obama's trying to destroy the country", rather than speculation, I'll not only listen, but I'll change from independent to Republican, delete everything I've ever said, and kiss Mitch McConnell and John Boehner square on the mouth.
Here you go, from NY Times... - sm

Link was posted just a day or so ago.

(You're braver than I am for offering kisses to McConnell and Boehner.)
Yeah, that's not how I read that the other day - Proof Obamacare works?

Did I read that wrong?

I took the article to mean that the insurance companies that agreed to enter into partial-subsidy agreements and agreed to more fairly-priced, government PPOs have actually made money rather than lost it, as they initially feared - which would be exactly as Obama predicted.

Obama said from the beginning, he's not trying to kill private business, he's trying to make it more affordable and fairly priced and insurance companies can still make money in the process.

The article isn't proving that their relationship is either adversarial or alliance, it just confirms a business relationship went as he said it would and they are pleased.

The article IS, however, inconsistent with reports of those insurance companies, corporations, and individuals in the anti-Obama camp that claim they are losing money or can't afford private/employer-based plans, isn't it?

So how can both be true?

The only way I see it can from my limited perspective is that either the insurance companies that are crying aren't participating in marketplace and paid the penalty instead or the ones that are participating are losing money on the higher-priced private/employer based plans.

Of course they are and that was the whole idea. They were charging too much and needed to come down to a fair price.

They want it killed so they can go back to charging whatever they want with private/employer-based insurance unchecked.

Make no mistake, just like oil prices suspiciously rising at their whim and blaming it on this or that, the hike rates on employer-based/private insurance aren't justified either.

There may be only one question left to answer - and we'll have to leave that for the historians: Who will go down as the worst President in US history - Jimmy Carter or Barack Obama? I think the answer will depend in part on whether Obama misbehaves and interjects himself into national affairs once he's out of office in the shameful way that Carter has done.  If he does, he'll probably edge Carter out as the worst President in history.   ...

This Article About Bank Tellers Hits UncomfortablyDec 06, 2013
Just a few short years ago I made $20+ per hour, now I don't even want to know, probably $12-15 if I am lucky. So it's not just minimum wage McDonald's workers, in this article it is bank tellers, rather similar to us. Obamacare Meltdown Has Arrived. Tennessee Is Ground Zero For Obamacare'sOct 07, 2016
