Wow, grab the popcorn....the Dems are eating their own! - Anon

Love the way fellow Dems are so easily discarded by the evil shrew, Pelosi. And Steny Hoyer is proven to be a liar, LOL!

Massa takes a page out of GOP campaign tactics. - Fabricate and deflect to save face.

Why is it that none of your posts are ever backed up with a single shred of supporting evidence? The evil shrew analogy is about as clever and effective as Cruella cartoon campaign fundraising strategies. Hoyer's staff relayed messages to Massa's staff. What's the big deal? Hoyer has nothing to cover up here and is only doing his job as majority leader in the House by instructing Massa of Ethics Committee protocols.

Massa's behavior is transparent, he has been all over the map about this resignation, has turned into a pouting 8-year-old throwing a temper tantrum and is bent on revenge. See what I mean? Sounds like the wing-nuts.

Take your seat and tune in tomorow to watch his lowest moment before he crashes and burns. He must know he has lost his last crumb of credibility or he would not be appearing on Glenn Beck. Enjoy yourself, but know that you glee is based on delusional homespun yarn-spin.

Relishing in my glee over GOPs abrupt about face after - rushing to embrace Massa. sm
[ In Reply To ..]
T-hee. GOP just couldn't wait to exploit Massa's dem-on-dem fits. After hearing about his alleged longstanding habit of groping male coworkers, they drop him like a hot potato, all in less than 24 hours.

So much for the rush to judgment jabs and gloats against dems who initially defended Massa last week. Looks like he hoodwinked us all in one way or another, huh? Gotta love it.

LMAO.

Um, actually, Massa said Hoyer's office NEVER spoke to him and that Steny is a liar... - Anon

[ In Reply To ..]
Quintessential he-said, he-said argument, and I'm curious to see who is left standing at the end, LOL!

And the other day someone on this board snickered at Deal's resignation, saying he was only resigning to save himself from an ethics investigation.

But Massa was resigning because he was ill, and he wanted to spend more time with his family, because golly he **sniff** could be dying and how heartless was I anyway not to accept his explanation.

But now, a mere few days later, and suddenly he's a POS that all the Dems are throwing under the bus post haste....because he's telling tales out of school (gasp!) and we can't have that.

You guys are hysterical!
Umm, then how do you think Massa knew that Ethics Committee - was considering pending allegations....
[ In Reply To ..]
Remember now, he made public statements BEFORE the investigation was official about his resignation in which he addressed the pending allegations. So, he what(?) heard it through the grapevine? On the news? He was the last to know? Really?

If what you say is true, then wouldn't that be an issue between Massa and his office staff, i.e., breakdown in communication. How does that make Steny a liar? Because you want it to be true? If you are curious to see who is left standing, perhaps that would suggest that your conclusion about Hoyer is premature.

Nobody was snickering about Deal. They were pointing out the fact(s) that the charges had already been under investgation for months, that evidence existed in public records that spanned more than a decade substantiating the claims about the no compete contracts and interference in the local process when changes to the program were being considered that would impact the bottom line of the $300,000 benefits he had been raping, err... I mean reaping from his sweetheart deal. The report was due to be released within days of his sudden, unexpected resignation, right in the middle of the final stages of the HCR process. The post let the facts speak for themselves.

Massa's resignation is a completely separate issue because the investigation has not even taken place yet. First he was outta there because he had recurrent cancer, then it was misinterpreted "salty language,", then it was this and then it was that and then EUREKA, he finally decided he had been set up more than a week later. Ask yourself. If he were so outraged, why did he go through all those machinations for so many days? Why did he not bring this to light before all the media and public scutiny?

Can you say save face? Can you say celebrity? How about future book deals, sorta like Palin and her post half-term run as governor? Sour grapes maybe? Human nature?

The other Massa posts were following media dialog. GOP are the ones who ride buses. Its tpot speak and is relatively meaningless on the other side of the aisle, but if we must go with that analogy, then dems were taekn for a bus ride by Massa for the duration of his staged sob story and pseudoconfession which suddenly has morphed into a juvenile tantrum. Then Massa got off the bus and crossed the street.

Sometimes things are not what they seem and anyone watching this episode had the right to react in stages as the saga unfolded. BTW, there is nothing hysterical about voters of either party being embarrassed, humiliated and essentially abandoned by their reps for the sake of corruption and the political theater that unfolds in its aftermath. How about the whoppers Mark Sanders and Mark Foley told? Any self respecting pub would have felt like crawling under a rock and staying there for a week or two until the whole debaucle blew over.

This is something dems and pubs share in common. We are at the hands of corrupt politicians who we seem to keep voting into office over and over and over again. Maybe its time we stopped cackling at each other and gloating, sit down, recognize we have common issues and decide what we REALLY should be doing about it.

NAW. Partisan implosions, division, hatred and self-destruction are SOOOOOO much more fun. As long as this is the way we CHOOSE to conduct ourselves, then we get exactly what we deserve.

For a better sense of continuity when describing Massa's behavior in the OP, strike this pharase:

First he was outta there because he had recurrent cancer, then it was misinterpreted "salty language,", then it was this and then it was that and then EUREKA, he finally decided he had been set up more than a week later.

and replace it with:

First he was outta there because he had recurrent cancer, then it was misinterpreted "salty language," then he WAS going to serve out his term, then he WASN'T going to serve out his term...and then EUREKA, he finally decided he had been set up more than a week later.

If he were being forced out, it seems that the credible time to expose that would have been when he reached the decision NOT to serve out his term.

An afterthought about Deal.  Even though he did not admit his culpability, at least he had the integrity not to try to blame his own party for his actions.  But then again, he does have that future run for state governor all mapped out.

I was merely repeating what Massa himself said... - Anon

And he thought he was being investigated for a questionable fundraising letter initially.

Apparently the whole process is like that of a grand jury...very secretive...and you don't know what they're investigating until they charge (indict) you...so yeah, he didn't know what it was for certain.

And maybe if you really wanted to stop the bickering and ad hominem attacks both sides are participating in, you might want to refrain from doing that in your post above (only bringing up Sandord and Foley and conveniently leaving out Rangel and Franks!).

Eric Holder Possible ReplacementsSep 26, 2014
Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick. Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick Deval Patrick is one of the names consistently floated as a hypothetical replacement for Holder. Patrick worked as an assistant attorney general in the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department during the Clinton administration, and is a friend of Obama. The timing is also convenient for Patrick. He's not seeking reelection in Massachusetts and will be out of his job come January. Patrick would likely face a to ...

Eric Holder/fast And FuriousOct 04, 2011
Documents obtained by CBS News prove that Holder had been receiving regular briefings on the botched sting operation as early as July, 2010. This revelation runs directly counter to testimony that Holder gave before a Congressional committee in which he claimed that he had no knowledge of the scandal before the press broke it.  Seems to me like Eric Holder may have bitten off more than he can chew on this one.  Curious to see how this plays out. ...

Did Eric Holder Lie To Congress? Not Old News.May 28, 2013
Why does Holder think he’s above the law? Why does he think he can get away with lying and survive? Because he’s Obama’s pal? Well, both sides are now outraged over his testimony. I certainly hope they look back into F&F again….because he was lying then, too.  The first story was posted 23 minute ago.
