Echoes of Denmark? Tea baggers send death threats to cartoonist

An award-winning California-based political cartoonist says he is receiving death threats over a 90-second animated film he created that teaches viewers "how to speak Tea Bag."
Mark Fiore compares his predicament to that of Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard, whose cartoon depicting the prophet Mohamed caused rioting across the Muslim world several years ago, and an attempt on his life last week.
"Muslim extremist, meet Tea Party extremist. Tea Party extremist, meet Muslim extremist," Fiore writes on his blog.
Fiore's video, which appeared on NPR's Web site, causing outrage from some conservative commentators, offers a tongue-in-cheek 90-second lesson in speaking like a tea bagger.
"If you're having trouble understanding the words of others, use Tea Bag's stronger, more descriptive ways," the narrator suggests, to which a tea-bagger is seen responding: "Nazi! Nazi! Nazi!"

[ In Reply To ..]First off, that cartoon is the bomb. I cannot for the life of me figure out what is so offensive about it. It is creative, cute, funny and its messge is right on target. In fact, it is easy to read the archives on this very forum and find many prime examples of posters speaking tea bag and plenty of frustrated folks who are trying to engage in intelligent political debate, sincerely attempting to get a thoughtful response from an opposing view, only to be met with a blast of tea bag from someone who obviously is not understanding the plain English of the original post. Also, if the cartoon was published back in November, why then is it just now becoming such an outrage after Bill-O raised a stink? Shades of lynch mob mentality.
With regard to the Danish cartoonist, I found his renderings to be both provocative and offensive. However, I find it equally appalling that both he and Fiore are receiving death threats. Hopefully, the irate teabaggers will pause for a moment an reflect on the, "Muslim extremists, meet Teabaggers. Teabaggers, meet Muslim extremists" comment. If being compared to Muslim extremists is what has gotten them so Rileyed-up, perhaps they should stop behaving like them and ditch the death threats. So much for freedom of speech.
