Did you see what the stock market did

Plunged across the board!;

Will probably drop further - So much for those few

singing the praises of Obama on this board, how they can now retire "comfortably"and with "peace of mind" because Obama was so wonderful with the economy. Hope they're the hardest hit. May be the only thing that will open their blinded eyes.

How nice. You "hope they're the hardest hit." - nm

The ones singing his praises, not caring that it is negatively going to affect so many people are the ones who deserve what they get.

I really don't think it will open their eyes though. The conservative haters don't care how it negatively affects so many. All they care is that it was proposed by Obama. If the same plan was proposed by a republican they would cut it down and scream and shout because the hatred has blinded them to see past their party loyalty.

That's okay though they'll get theirs when their rates have gone up and when they are reported to the fat gestapo.

Lessons learned - Conservative

This ruling is scary on several levels; the way it was passed with deceit, coersion, backroom deals, lies to the American people it was not a "tax", only to have it result in being the single largest tax in the history of the USA, which they knew all along; the overtake of 1/6 of the entire USA economy; the 550-BILLION in Medicare cuts for the elderly so no concern for their healthcare; the 20-MILLION expected to be forced into the state pools because it is cheaper for their bosses to pay the fines than pay the premiums, making the uninsured number under Obamacare higher than before Obamacare. Also, a little known fact is that any home care worker, even if you are related to the person you are caring for (mother, sister, brother, father, child), you are now going to be forced to be a home health "employee" of an agency that the states are forced to put in place by the Federal government. I posted the section of the Obamacare where it appears if you want to read it. This is to be a gateway to unionize all these workers, force them to pay union dues, even if you never make a dime taking care of your loved one. There is an old saying that says be careful what you pray for, and Obamacare is a perfect example of that with a power-hungry narssicist on steroids.

Suggestion: Get a HUGE bottle of aspirin.

Under Title VIII -- the "Community Living Assistance Services and Supports" (CLASS) program -- ALL 50 states are ordered to create legal entities to serve as "employers" of home health care providers.

I am the one you replied to. I've heard a lot about what is in it. I do know I will have to work harder to lose more weight otherwise I will be reported to the fat gestapo. Rates are going to skyrocket. Oh and you should see the twitter messages the democrats are sending, calling republicans "mother ***s". Pee-lousy saying we made history. Uh yeah, you just did sweetheart. Nazi's are back full force.

Their hatred as blinded them from any sense. Now I read a headline that Roberts ability to think clearly is diminished because of the medication he is taking.

Well it's been ruled on and nothing anyone can do except hope. November can't come soon enough. I think this has probably just sunk him the election.

LOLOLOL - Got to laugh or we will all be crying. Until some of the die-hard Obama fans come face-to-face with the taxes, restrictions, monitoring of every aspect of their lives, they will never get it, and some not even after that. I do not vote a straight ticket, belong to no party, but I am voting straight Republican just to get rid of this elephant in the living room. A can of orange juice has more sense then Obama when it comes to the management, economic reasoning, etc.

State law completely different from - federal law - They need book learnin'
[ In Reply To ..]
Too many posters on here think they are so smart, but the exact opposite is shown every time they make this stupid Romney comparison. They are so poorly educated, they can't figure out what is STATES RIGHTS and the LIMIT OF THE FEDERAL GOVT. They also have no understanding of federalism, and pretty obvious they either don't care about the Constitution, never read it or don't understand it. Pretty sad there are so many ignorant, lazy Americans.
GOP didn't seem to think so - back in the early 90s
[ In Reply To ..]
Speaking of "book learnin'," let's briefly revisit the HillaryCare debates in Congress. Determined to oppose her at every turn, Senator John Chaffe R-RI introduced a plan that included an individual mandate. It was co-sponsored by Senators Orrin Hatch R-UT, Charles Grassley R-IA and Richard Lugar R-Ind.

Individual mandate was also endorsed by the Heritage Foundation back in the day.

Things weren't much different in the House. Here's a statement the Newster made on Meet the Press in 1993:

"I am for people, individuals -- EXACTLY LIKE AUTOTOMOBILE INSURANCE -- individuals having health insurance and being REQUIRED to have health insurance. And I am prepared to vote for a voucher system which will give individuals, on a sliding scale, a government subsidy so we insure that everyone as individuals have health insurance."

Sound familiar? This kinda sucks the life out of that state vs federal argument, don't you think? History. The GOP can run from it, but they can't hide and, thanks to modern technology, they won't have much luck trying to rewrite it either.

Businessweek: Market fell sharply in early trading - BEFORE the SCOTUS ruling

[ In Reply To ..]
attributable to investor doubts that the EU meeting in Brussels would progress beyond "vague pledges" toward concrete plans for resolving the Greece and Spain debt crises. The rebound in the last 30 minutes of trading added 152 points to the 177-point plunge, for a minor net loss of 25 points. The rebound was attributed to a report that the European Bank may cut interest rates, and optimism over the events that happened during that same meeting.

The Christian Science Monitor called it a "hiccup," agreeing that the Brussels meeting was the reason for the "glum mood."

Banking shares accounted for the bulk of the losses but hospital shares SOARED after the announcement. HCA shares went from $1.84 to $28.45, a 7% increase in heavy trading which, of course, actually CONTRIBUED to the rebound. You can read all about it in the last link.

Looks like blaming the ACA ruling for the market "hiccup" is inaccurate.

They were down before, then REALLY went down - after the SCOTUS ruling.

Here's a partial report from newsmax.com:

Stocks dropped sharply Thursday after the Supreme Court upheld the central provision of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul, a requirement that almost all Americans carry health insurance.

The Dow Jones industrial average, which was down about 100 points before the court ruled, fell further and was down 160 points at 11 a.m. EDT.

Health care stocks were down significantly, but bank stocks were the biggest losers in the broader market.

Then REALLY went right back up again when - hospital shares rallied in heavy trading

in the aftermath of the announcement. Would you like me to cite a dozen or so references concurring with the Businessweek assessment, that the ruling did not affect market behavior today? Just say the word. I'd be more than happy to oblige.

Not only that, - but they closed in the red.

and characterized yesterday's loss of 25-point net drop as a hiccup. IMO, interpretations of ACA and SCOTUS malcontents are not exactly the most objective "authorities" on this subject.

Better get any elective procedures now while you still can. Under Obamacare have open heart surgery will be termed cosmetic and not needed...DENIED!

US Job Openings At Record High; Labor Market Aug 09, 2017

The Labor Department said on Tuesday that job openings, a measure of labor demand, increased 461,000 to a seasonally adjusted 6.2 million. That was the highest level since the series started in December 2000 and pushed the jobs openings rate up two-tenths of a percentage point to a near one-year high of 4.0 percent.
