A community of 30,000 US Transcriptionist serving Medical Transcription Industry
quite serious. From IIICitadel.com (do note paragraph 4):
The Citadel is not your typical planned community where the developer's objective is selling cookie-cutter homes at the highest possible profit-margin.
The Citadel is not profit-driven. The Citadel is Liberty-driven: specifically Thomas Jefferson's Rightful Liberty.
Marxists, Socialists, Liberals and Establishment Republicans will likely find that life in our community is incompatible with their existing ideology and preferred lifestyles.
DESCRIPTION: The Citadel Community will house between 3,500 and 7,000 patriotic American families who agree that being prepared for the emergencies of life and being proficient with the American icon of Liberty — the Rifle — are prudent measures. There will be no HOA. There will be no recycling police and no local ordinance enforcers from City Hall.
LOCATION: We are in the process of selecting the ideal location among the beautiful mountains of Idaho in the American Redoubt.
PROJECT LAUNCH: We plan to purchase land for the Citadel in 2013 and break ground soon after. Even before unveiling our national advertising campaign, more than 200 families reserved space within our community!
WHY APPLY FOR RESIDENCE: If living in an affordable, safe, well-prepared, patriotic community where your children will be educated in school rather than indoctrinated, consider the Citadel. Approved applicants receive a Lifetime Lease (paid off in only 30 years). No credit check. No background check. Zero down payment. Zero interest. Zero property taxes.
HOW TO APPLY: Simply read through the information here on our website. If you believe the Citadel is ideal for you and your family, complete our application. More of your questions may be answered at our blog.
HOUSING DETAILS: All homes will be built of poured concrete for exceptional strength and durability. Your home will be built to your specs (details available at this website) with utilities stubbed to the interior. You select the facade for the exterior of your home. You are responsible for completing the interior of your home as you wish. You may choose to do the work yourself, or hire contractors. But every single detail, from paint to tiles to counters, is your choice.
If Liberty has been missing from the life of your family, consider the Citadel for your new home.
From the Idaho Statesman: "Currently we are a loose collection of several hundred people with a germ of an idea, and honestly not ready to provide you with a cogent interview or even background," an unnamed representative for the group said in an email to the Statesman. Benewah County is the "first choice" because of its low population density and "shared world-view" of independence, self-sufficiency and patriotism, the website said. The group has already bought 20 acres of land on top of a mountain in the county, the website said. It hopes to break ground shortly after summer 2013. More than 200 families have applied to join, the website said. ... The project could be built in Montana, Wyoming or several other Idaho counties, it said.
At the center of the development is a business, III Arms, a modern firearms company that would employ residents. All of the company's profits would be donated to the Citadel. III Arms Co. was incorporated in Idaho in August. Its headquarters address is in Gaithersburg, Md., a suburb of Washington, D.C. A woman whose name is listed as a representative of the company could not be reached by phone Wednesday.
From McClatchyDC.com: "III Percent LLC — seemingly a reference to the “three percenter” militia movement — and Citadel Land Development LLC were created in Idaho last month, according to state records. One or two square miles of the Citadel would be protected by walls and towers, the website said, adding that the community “intends to become a premiere tourist destination for Americans from sea to sea and border-to-border.”
From me: The Citadel will not have a leader. It will not have an association of homeowners. It will have a list of rules all residents contract to obey (who buys your lifetime lease interest in the land and the house you presumably own because you built it if you're thrown out?), and it will have an employer. I'm wondering how long it might be until residents found they were living in a "company town?"
My advice for any considering it would be: Make sure the final location is within commuting distance of other jobs in a town big enough not to be overinfluenced economically by this community. In other words, add preparation for yet another possible calamity to your list. Sad to say, many enterprises that start with a set of ideals devolve into something quite different.
