Allen West

Posted: Mar 23, 2011

I don't know much about Allen West, other than being an officer in Iraq, but I'm interested in learing more. He appears to be quite an intelligent and honorable man.

"At a townhall meeting hosted by Congressman Allen West on Monday evening in Pompano Beach, the Q&A segment of the meeting featured a Koran wielding Nezar Hamze, Executive Director of the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR).  Hamze confronted Congressman West and asked him to point out where in the Koran does it give marching orders to Muslims “to carry out attacks against Americans and innocent people”.  West quickly pointed out that the Koran was written long before America even existed and that it does indeed tell believers to kill infidels, and then proceeded to chronicle a lengthy list of historical Muslim acts of aggression.  Congressman West closed his retort by referencing the Fort Hood shootings and 9-11 attacks, saying that his first hand experiences on the battlefield has given him insight into the tactics that Islamists use before telling Hamze not to “try to blow sunshine up my butt” with his criticism of him. West took offense to Hamze’s amateurish criticism of his stance on radical Islam and concluded by telling Mr. Hamze to “put the microphone down and go home.”

It gets better. I'm looking forward to the debate.
"It seems that whenever Allen West holds a Town Hall meeting the controversial Muslim group CAIR is there.  The Council  for American-Islamic Relations’ supporters seem to have an endless supply of questions for West, and tonight’s townhall was no different.  Tuesday evening, a supporter of CAIR (notably wearing a “co-exist” t-shirt) began to question West’s knowledge about the Koran, and then proceeded to challenge West to a public debate.

Any chance you think that Congressman West was going to pass up on this oportunity?"

Staged? - AZMT

"It seems that whenever Allen West holds a Town Hall meeting the controversial Muslim group CAIR is there."

That suggests to me that this is probably staged, phony politics.

Before you "true believers" jump my case in your state of cognitive dissonance, that DOES go on in this country and always has. The "two-party" system is a complete sham as both parties are controlled by the same people, and that is a FACT. See "Tragedy and Hope" by Prof. Carroll Quigley.

I will do no jumping on you, I promise. :-)

I think most people are aware of the staging that goes on in politics. It's gone on for years. My question for you is do you think Allen West is staging this? So, the CAIR people are involved in the phoney politics too? (last one) How does Allen West and Nezar Hamze (Executive Director of CAIR) benefit from this?

I don't have time to go through all the comments on HuffPo (over 34 pages), but I don't see anyone else suggesting it was phony or staged. I read through a couple pages of disgusting hateful comments for West and some support for Hamze. I can only take so much. It's hard to stomach comments like these:

I don't know Allen West - AZMT

[ In Reply To ..]
I said that the description SUGGESTED to me that it was staged. I don't know Mr. West or anything about him, although I think just about everyone is familiar with CAIR or at least knows what the group stands for. This could be entirely legit, and since I have no "inside info" on this situation again I can't say for sure.

Getting back to the big picture, in general terms, the POLITICAL PARTIES and the SYSTEM benefit from the staging more than the individuals involved, who are mere stooges/puppets playing their respective roles.

I'm agree with you about the disgusting comments, and I don't read HuffPo or the comments posted there.
An Example of STAGED Political "Debate" - AZMT
[ In Reply To ..]
I am posting this for the benefit of the gullible souls who still believe that we have a legitimate two-party system in this country. The following is an example of a STAGED "left versus right" political "debate." This "heated debate" was in fact all over the news. The truth is that BOTH of these "parties" were affiliated with the same organization, the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR):

A good sampling of the most active wings of the CFR can be illustrated best in last year's "Ground Zero Mosque" hoax, where CFR members from both America's political right and left feigned a heated debate over New York City's so-called Cordoba House near the 3 felled World Trade Center buildings. In reality, the Cordoba House was established by fellow CFR member Feisal Abdul Rauf, who in turn was funded by CFR financing arms including the Carnegie Corporation of New York, chaired by 9/11 Commission head Thomas Kean, and various Rockefeller foundations.

Question: What's your answer for the reason - Backwards Typist
[ In Reply To ..]
that Obama called for Mubarak to step down but did nothing further to get involved, but now that it's Libya, he is totally involved? Could this be the reason?

"ICG's George Soros would then go on to fund Egyptian NGOs working to rewrite the Egyptian constitution after front-man ElBaradei succeeded in removing Hosni Mubarak. This Soros-funded constitution and the resulting servile stooge government it would create represents the ICG "resolving" the crisis their own ElBaradei helped create."

Hows this answer? - Truthseeker
[ In Reply To ..]
Hosni Mubarak has had a friendly relationship with the United States for many many years (he was Vice President from 1975 to 1981 and then became President after Sadat was assassinated) so I doubt the U.S. would launch bombs at Mubarak's compound. Also the protests in Egypt began on 01/25/2011 and Mubarak resigned on 02/11/2011--just 17 days. While people did die in the protest, Mubarak never launched missiles nor sent out warplanes against the citizens.

Gaddafi has been an enemy of most of the world for decades. He sent out agents to assassinate people in other countries he did not like (including wanting to assassinate Ronald Regan) Libya was under economic and diplomatic sanctions by many countries for years and years. These were only lifted because he allowed the Lockerbie bombers to be handed over to stand trial. Ironically his former justice minister now claims to have evidence that Gaddafi personally ordered the Lockerbie Bombing.

He has now basically declared war on the citizens of Libya. Neighboring countries are dealing with refugees fleeing Libya. Since the start of the year, almost 15,000 Tunisians have crossed the Mediterranean and landed in the tiny island of Lampedusa, closer to Africa than to mainland Italy. About 5,000 are currently on the island doubling the population and raising fears of a sanitation crisis. The island's migrant center, built for 800, is housing twice as many people.

"Many people are unable to find shelter from rain and cold weather," said a spokesman for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, Adrian Edwards. "Hygiene conditions are dire," he added, urging Italy to ease the overcrowding. The situation has reached a crisis point and Gaddafi has said he will crush the rebels and die a martyr.

The answer seems quite clear actually. Unless Glenn Beck is the one doing the 'splanin.
And another part of the story....Obama, Soros, - Samantha Power, Cass Sunstein...
[ In Reply To ..]
Philanthropist billionaire George Soros is a primary funder and key proponent of the global organization that promotes the military doctrine used by the Obama administration to justify the recent airstrikes targeting the regime of Moammar Gadhafi in Libya.

The activist who founded and coined the name of the doctrine, "Responsibility to Protect," sits on several key organizations alongside Soros.

Also, the Soros-funded global group that promotes Responsibility to Protect is closely tied to Samantha Power, the National Security Council special adviser to Obama on human rights.

Power has been a champion of the doctrine and is, herself, deeply tied to the doctrine's founder.

According to reports, Power, who is married to Obama regulatory czar Cass Sunstein, was instrumental in convincing Obama to act against Libya.

The Responsibility to Protect doctrine has been described by its founders and proponents, including Soros, as promoting global governance while allowing the international community to penetrate a nation state's borders under certain conditions.

Don't forget about Susan Rice. She's got quite a background too. She was one of the main people pushing Obama to do this. I don't think he wanted anything to do with it.

So, there's Clinton, Samantha Power and Susan Rice - incompetence x3 plus the Soros connection. If it wasn't so frightening, I would be laughing.
Is there a reason I should take your word for it - and not OP?

I don't need Glenn Beck to show me all the connections between Soros, Obama, the DSA, the Progressive Democratic Caucus yada yada yada...it is truly amazing how many avenues of information open up if you really care to look.

and his wife? Let's not start down the Bush invaded Iraq on his own crud, shall we not? Congress approved the use of force. We went in with many of the same countries are bombing Libya with, except Obama did not even feel the need to consult Congress, he just sent bombers. If Bush had done that, you would have popped a brain vessel. Let's put it all in perspective, right?

You "think" Rumsfeld pulled Bush's strings...I "think" George Soros pulls Obama's, and I can come up with enough ties that my case will be every bit as good as yours.

I am not naive and neither are you. Thanks to you too.
Could care less - Truthseeker
[ In Reply To ..]
I did not say anyone pulled Bush's strings. It was a concerted effort by the whole Bush administration. If you want to believe Soros is the antichrist all evil man out to destroy the world go right ahead. I really could give 2 hoots what you or anyone think.
Yes, you have made that abundantly clear. - Never said Soros
[ In Reply To ..]
was the antichrist. However, it takes extreme naivete to think he does not have his uberrich hand in world politics. There are specific verifiable links between he and key members of Obama's inner circle. Never said he wanted to destroy the world, either. Nothing could be further from the truth. He just wants to control it and the DNC seems to be falling all over themselves to help him do that.

As to your hoots, keep them. You may need them some day, when you DO give 2 hoots. I sincerely hope you get back to the point where you do...however, seems you already threw the towel in. What did you say...this country is dead, the END?

We had big "Pep Rallies" which got people emotional and ready to Fight! Fight! Fight! - That was then. Obama is not the pep rally type
[ In Reply To ..]
Obama doesn't know how to hold a pep rally. He doesn't know how to get people worked up into a fervor to go to war and bring back the enemy "Dead or Alive" ---picture megaphone--- and the "SOON the WHOLE WORLD will here me" speech. He also won't be on an aircraft carrier dressed in a flight suit with a banner behind him saying MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. Those things are not his style. He has a quiet manner. Some prefer the emotional approach. That's why we have 2 political parties.
The Mission Accomplished sign has been - explained ad nauseam.
[ In Reply To ..]
yet you drag it back out. He did not say soon the whole world will hear me...he said hear us. And whether you believe it or not, that is what the country wanted and needed to hear right then. Just like most of the country didn't want Obamacare. Yeah, he was real quiet about that when he basically told most of us we were getting it whether we liked it or not. Yeah, that really made me appreciate HIS manner.

Not so much.

I'm not sure that I believe Soros is behind the dems any more than the Koch bros. are behind the pubs. I do know that it certainly all looks suspicious, though.

I also find it very curious that the same people that deny any involvement from Soros will believe the stories about the Koch bros. Seems to me there's plenty of speculation to support both stories, just depends which side you're on, I guess.
Personally, I saw Walker's behavior when he thought he was talking to 1 of the Koch bros - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I'm not familiar with any of the Soros details. The situation with the Koch brothers was dramatic though, and I got to observe that with the rest of the country.
Granted, but that was just a phone conversation. - Zville MT

There was no discussion of money or who controlled who or anything like that - just some tough talk.

Google Soros and Koch and you can find plenty of conspiracy stories on both of them, lots of trails to follow, but not all convincing.

I wouldn't have done it that way because reacting as he did will cause more problems than it will solve.

I think he did well when he started, but then stooped to a low level which took away from his otherwise very good argument.
