if powers of government want to continually take away birth control options as the far right does, as well as taking away women's rights in general. Far right conservatives don't want more babies yet can't seem to get away from telling women they have no right to their own reproductive choices. There is a middle ground here. Leave birth control rights alone, and there will be fewer babies. Now, THAT makes sense.
Republicans do not want to take away BC control options - Get a grip
[ In Reply To ..]
They, however, do not feel that everyone should have to pay for someone else's BC
People you really need to get a grip on what is going on. You're just spewing more of the propaganda lies.

It's like reading the post about Huckabee. - Twist and turn - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
There was a video so we all heard what he said and they make up some you know what. Sitting here thinking, have IQs dropped sharpy? He never said that. You tell them he didn't say that, just watch the video and they repeat the same thing they were just told he didn't say. And now I read such bull-stink lies about republicans.
Where has the logical thinking gone.
Are you sure you want to go there again? - If so, open a new thread.

Otherwise, review what was written below. IMHO, Huckabee WAS vindicated.
Um, no, you do not get to tell me what I can post - twist and turn - sm

Unless you are the moderator you do not have the right to tell me to start a new thread or review what was written below. If I wanted to respond to what was below I would have. But since I was responding to the post then it belongs here.
If you don't like it you don't have to read it. Pssst....it's not a requirement that you read every post or reply to every post.
We'll see what the voters think when Dems paint him as GOP - poster boy
[ In Reply To ..]
Even though he's not running, Democratic candidates will bring it up, Rep candidates will stand by Huckabee's comments (silence will do that) when confronted, and the alienation will begin, or should I say continue.
Not to mention the way the AZ GOP extremists treated McCain, and now this latest thug, Representative Grimm, threatening to throw a reporter off the balcony and breaking him in two.
Didn't I see somewhere where GOP held some kind of class to teach their members how to act and what not to say? That in itself, that they have to send them to school to teach them manners and how to treat people, is a very sad statement.
GOP brand is really degenerating and none of these activities will be or have been vindicated. But don't take my word for it, we'll let all the voters decide who they want to represent them. All the above plus more (GOP just can't help itself, it appears), will be played and rehashed over and over.

pay for Viagra and Cialis, but those sure never come up for discussion, do they? Okay to pay for the man to get it up and create those babies, but not for the woman to proactively protect against getting pregnant because, oh yes, her employer doesn't believe in birth control because of their own personal beliefs. So, she turns to a government sponsored plan, in which she pays a portion of the premium and a copay, and yet again hits that dang brick wall of religious conservatives who don't want to pay for birth control at all, but don't want to feed the resulting babies either. Dang! It must be so difficult to force others to follow along with certain individuals' personal and religious beliefs. It's like herding cats, isn't it? They just won't get in line.
I have a firm grip. All anyone has to do is wait around (and not for long) and the ultra-conservatives just open their mouths and put any doubt to rest.
As far as the topic being discussed goes, scientific discourse and education go a whole lot farther in making change than cramming one's religious beliefs down someone else's throat.
Why is BC being singled out? People who have insurance. sm - VTMT
[ In Reply To ..]
pay for lots of drug that they themselves don't need, chemotherapy drugs, HIV drugs, autoimmune disease drugs, etc., as well as Viagra, topical testosterone, etc. I hear no one saying that these drugs shouldn't be covered. This is the whole point of having insurance, coverage is there if and when you need it. It's not complicated.
Excellent question, VTMT - Empirelady
[ In Reply To ..]
This movement about BC is all about ultra-religious thinking that we must all step into line with their beliefs. It's really as simple as that, I'm sorry to say.
The religious want the freedom to practice - their beliefs,
[ In Reply To ..]
not Obama's, Reverend Wright's or the Ayatollah's. Freedom of religion, remember that concept?
But not freedom to impose their religion - on the rest of us
[ In Reply To ..]
Separation of church and state, not the church writing all the rules for the right wing lawmakers.
I have no problems with people who don't believe in evolution, for instance, but when they say it is a choice to teach evolution or creation theory in "science" class, well, that is not freedom of religion that is the Christian right taking over our education system and very, very wrong.
Same thing with birth control. You don't like it, fine, but what has that got to do with me? If I work for Hobby Lobby or even a church they should not dictate whether or not I have access to contraception. That is not practicing their beliefs, that is imposing their beliefs on everyone else.
Your perception is wrong. - They do not want to impose
[ In Reply To ..]
their beliefs. You must be reading some leftwing liberal rag.
Nobody is imposing their religion on you - Get a grip
[ In Reply To ..]
That's not what they are doing.
You don't really believe all that garbage they are spoon feeding you do you?
So you don't agree that creation theory and - contraception
[ In Reply To ..]
Are issues the religious right has tried to imposed their beliefs on the rest of us?
Because no one spoon fed me anything. Those are the facts - that many states are requiring the teaching of both evolution AND creation theory (not science in any way, shape or form) AND that Hobby Lobby wishes to prevent their employees from participating in a provision of the health care law that requires their INSURANCE PROVIDER (not Hobby Lobby) provide contraception for the employees.
So if that isn't imposing their religion on us, what is it?
Hobby Lobby is a privately owned company. - sm

of private companies have the freedom to practice whatever religion they choose without requiring employees to follow those same tenets unless it's the employees' wish to do so. Of course, they don't have to work there, but, by the same token, if I don't wish to be bombarded by religious music when I go into a store to buy silk flowers, I don't have to shop there. And I no longer do.
It is all about freedom of choice. No one is...sm - VTMT

forcing anyone to do anything that is against their religion or moral beliefs. No one is forcing anyone to have an abortion, use birth control, have a tubal ligation or vasectomy, a blood transfusion, a circumcision, or any other treatment or procedure. All these things and many others are available to us under our health insurance if we so choose. It is our personal choice. This is the way it should be in the United State of America.

Unbelievable.
I don't find equal rights for LGBT to be invasive - at all.
[ In Reply To ..]
If people talking about it and making landmark court cases is "invasive," I guess one could find A LOT of stuff invasive by that criteria.
I consider invasive when someone tries to tell me how to live--not watching someone else try to get the freedom that they deserve. That is not invasive.

Since you brought up powers of government and options, what about the option we no longer have to opt out of the Imperialist's ACA, or is that exempt for you?
My employer offers - Empirelady
[ In Reply To ..]
health coverage, so that's where I get mine. Had they opted out, I would have no problems signing up for coverage through ACA. After all, I'd be paying a premium and copays just like before, and for less than I pay now, probably. I would have, except I'm waiting for the dust to settle, and it will, just like it did for the Medicare changes Bush effected. It was a bit of a mess at first as well. (no, not hating on Bush, just a fact)
For those who opt out of any coverage, who do they think is going to pay if anything catastrophic occurs? Are they going to pony up hundreds of thousands of dollars for a hospitalization? For most folks, doubtful they would have that kind of money. It then falls to the tax payers.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not 100% for the whole ACA deal. There is a lot that needs to be fixed and fine-tuned. But, this way people are at least paying a premium for a plan to have coverage whereas before they didn't,or couldn't, with the onus falling on the hospitals to eat the charges or get a tax break from the government because of nonpayment, and guess what? The taxpayer is still paying.
Healthcare must be a human right, especially in this country of plenty.
First of - all...
[ In Reply To ..]
The right does not want to take away birth control options, they just don't want to pay for them. Second, where do you get that the right doesn't want any more babies? It's the left that keeps pushing abortion - I'm thinking they're the ones that don't want more babies.
You are right about one thing, though, there is a middle ground - leave birth control rights alone and pay for them yourself (that includes Viagra and the rest).
