bad taste in mouth

my brother has a reaaalllly bad taste in his mouth for over 3 yrs now, had a kidney removed from cancer, all his teeth removed, a cyst removed from his tongue and Nothing has worked. he has even been to the Mayo clinic - I'm wondering if anyone in the medical field has ever heard of this. ;
has he seen ENT and GI specialists? - nm
