Well, the very next day, DH went to get Blue Buffalo and instead came home with a 5 lb. bag of 4health ($6) and Taste of the Wild ($12) instead (he always listens to sales people). We started her on 4health and she didn't touch it the first day unless we put in 1/2 can of wet and veggies.
The second day she ate it with no problem. She also seems to be 'full' after eating and isn't crying or whining. The next day, she didn't even touch her breakfast until after lunch. That's a good sign, right? The 4health's ingredients are chicken and chicken meal for the first 2 ingredients, then goes to veggies, vitamins and minerals.
The Taste of the Wild's ingredients are Bison, lamb meal, chicken meal, egg products, then sweet potatoes and other veggies, then some roasted bison, marinated venison, ocean fish, etc.
I told DH to start cutting down on the wet and veggies, a little bit per day, to see if we can get her off those. I don't think the canned dog food is all that good for her.
He also bought her a Kong Wobbler, a rubber bone (forget the name) that you put treats in each end and when shaken, makes a noise, plus a green ulgy thing that you put treats in and smells like vanilla. She went crazy over them for the first half hour. Our treats are either too small or too large for the bone and she couldn't get them out...not even I could get them out without a tweezers. The Wobbler is okay but the treats come out too easy.
What really surprised me was with all three new toys, DH told her to get her Kong yesterday and she went around and sniffed each of them and brought the Kong to him! Do ya think I can teach her to speak since she's so smart? LOL
I want to thank everyone for the suggestions. We will still get the Blue Buffalo if either of these don't work out, but we have to make these do for now.
