I love movies and I've always loved watching the Oscars. I've noticed with each passing year, the Oscars are less and less fun. They take themselves way too seriously and even they seem like they are bored to tears. I remember watching Bob Hope host when I was a kid and thought it looked like all the celebrities were having so much fun, lauging at themselves, each other, and Bob Hope. And then Johnny Carson took over and then Billy Crystal and it seemed like one big happy party. Now it's all designer dresses, politically correct jokes lest some big movie star or director gets offended.
When Ricky Gervais hosted the Golden Globes a few years back, I thought he was hilarious! He skewered and offended everyone and these are people that need to be skewered and offended or else their egos will balloon even bigger than they already are.
Having said all that, my favorite moments from this years Oscars were the acceptance speeches - Patricia Arquette's acceptance speech (preach it sister!), Graham Moore's, and JK Simmons.
And I was absolutely blown away by Lady Gaga. Shockingly mahvelous! Who knew?!?!
