I just have to tell you about my stepfather's pets! They are just like my own. Our gorgeous little Terrier/Chihuahua mix is the love of my life; not to mention her "sister" our Double Yellow Amazon parrot.
Yesterday I went to visit, came through the garage and into the kitchen. My baby usually breaks her little white legs to get to me; squealing, spinning, nails clicking, crying! Yesterday . . . nothing!
We have a "secret clap" that I give when I get into the house. I kept clapping and calling her . . nothing!
Then I heard crying and squealing. I went over to the doors to the patio and there she was on the porch. Her Daddy was laughing! When I opened the doors she bolted into the kitchen and darn near knocked me over! We have a routine where we run down the hallway into the TV room, and that's where the real love fest begins! Such clapping, kissing, hugging! She likes to get a head start to run faster, so she jumps off my lap and makes a lap around the kitchen, builds up speed and then down the hall into the TV room. She is actually airborne! I put my arms up; you know, in self defense!
Our Parrot is just a total riot. She tells me "Well, I know about it!" She tells the dog to "Go outside! Go pee!" When her daddy bends over to pick something up she rushes to the side of the cage to try to bit him in the rear end. My God, it's insane! It's better than cable. Trust me. If you are depressed and feel nobody loves you they are the best medicine in the world! I'm due for another shot!
