Decide

Decide that this day will be productive and consequential, and it will be. Decide to rise above the petty distractions, and you’re already on your way.

Decide that there are valuable opportunities in the challenges, and you’ll find those opportunities. Decide to make a positive difference, and you’ll have what is necessary to do so.

There are many factors in life over which you have no direct control. And yet even with those things, you can decide how to handle them.

Decide to live and work and play from a perspective of love and gratitude. Decide to greet each day, each moment, and each new situation with a determination to make the world a better place.

Life is a continuous series of choices. Decide where you want those choices to lead, and put yourself on your own path to fulfillment.

When you know what you desire, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to bring it about. Decide to live the very best life you can imagine, and delight in making it happen.

— Ralph Marston

Why are you all belittling her because she is posting words of encouragement?

Simply *SKIP* the thread. It's not hard.

You people act as though you are possessed with the devil or something. She does'nt even respond to you, she just makes a simple post of encouragment each day, and you all jump to attack.

You make yourselves look sick. Makes me wonder how old are some of you sitting on the other side of this screen.

wow! not a marstonfan equals possessed by the devil! - blow me away!

I can't relate to that comparison. You make the OP look bad because of your support.

This board is for everyone, I believe. - Your Can Choose What to Read

Is it appropriate to bully people into not posting things you don't enjoy?

That kind of behavior and attitude - "life stinks and you better not say otherwise or we'll get nasty" - is typical of gangs and prison inmates.

Denouncing and ridiculing every one of marstonfan's posts is bullying behavior. If your intention is not to engage in that kind of behavior, perhaps you could solve the problem of her posts discomfiing you by not reading them. What you don't read cannot annoy you.

I like her posts and hope they continue.

I don't view it using your description - Dissident

I do not see how those disagreeing with the marston posts qualifies as bullying. They are responding to posts by a singular individual who posted in a similar vein three days running.

My interpretation of it is that one person has something to say that more than one person doesn't like and expressed their dislike. My interpretation of bullying is more along the lines of repeatedly trying to dominate the board over the objections of a few. When one person tries to impose their will over the objection of others, that is the definition of bullying.

My further interpretation is that this one person has something to say that is of a singular thought and would more likely be happier being around others with like minds. Considering the contents of the posts being sugarfairies and pixie dust, why would that poster chose to perservere in a hostile environment? Wouldn't that person prefer a more friendly environment in which to achieve personal growth, such as a personal blog? Of if the intent is to enlighten the world, perhaps a venue that provides face-to-face contact would be more receptive than a group of people who like things the way they are.

Just my thoughts. Again, you can make the choice not to read the responses that disagree with your opinion. It goes both ways.

well said - pixie dust hater

Trying To Decide Whether To Take My Son To The ER.Oct 28, 2009
My 17yo son has been feverish for three days.  He has mostly ran a fever in the early morning and late afternoon, evening hours.  However, when he takes ibuprofen or Tylenol, the fever breaks and he feels fine.  However, this evening he spiked a fever to 102.  He took four 200 mg ibuprofen and the fever came down to 99.4.  But within an hour, it shot back up to 101.7.  He took more ibuprofen (without my knowledge!) and his fever his still hovering at 101.2.&nbs ...

Debates Obviously Do Not Decide Elections.Oct 12, 2012
I have not been happy with O's performance the last 4 years.  However, I am not sure he is totally to blame for the state of our economy, debt, and job situation.  The R fully admit that what was dumped in his lap was tremendous.  Much of the debt technically does not even belong to O.  The rest, I believe he had no choice, as we were actually looking at a depression.  As Clinton stated, NO president, R or D, could fix these problems in 4 years. Even though I just ...

Rand Paul: SCOTUS Doesn't Get To Decide Jun 28, 2012
The exact quote is, “Just because a couple of people on the Supreme Court declare something to be 'constitutional' does not make it so."  OMG.  Is this the best the TP has to offer?  Is this the same Tea Party whose platform is founded on the principle that, "The U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the land and must be adhered to without exception at all levels of government?"  One has to wonder if he has ever read it.  Then he said, "The Tea P ...

Looking At Straight Talk Cell Phones And Can't Decide Which One Would Be Best.Nov 13, 2014
My first instinct is to go for the cheapest and on the straight talk website they have a free Samsung T528G when you purchase a plan.  I have a cheapy prepaid phone now that I hate!  It is supposedly touchscreen, but I cannot get it calibrated right and half the time I have no service which I don't know is the phone or the cell service. I also see Samsung Centura or Discover for $50 to $70.  So what would you guys suggest I get? ...
