The Bible is God's Word. In it he reveals to us who He is, how much He loves us, and gives us instructions for how to live our life here on earth, and that that we will be known by Him when we get to heaven. I know your next question will be why do I believe the Bible to be true so here are a few reasons. The Bible is one of the oldest books still in existence. It's story has not changed over all these years. It was written by 40 different men over the course of 15 centuries, written in different languages, in different parts of the earth but yet the unity in the Bible, the message and the theme is still the same all the way through. What tied all this together was that it is the Word of God. History even confirms events from the Bible and the fact that Jesus was here. There are so many other reasons, but I will leave you with these. I pray it will help you to understand. I pray you come to know God in a personal relationship the way I do and if there is anything I can do to help you in that please let me know. God bless!

I have tears in my eyes! What a wonderful response - we are blessed! I could not have answered that question better! Thank you! A friend once told me what the word BIBLE means - Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. God -breathed instructions. Something to think about.

I believe there is a God because he makes himself known to me and my family daily, in everything around me. You just have to look and recognize things for what they really are. I recently took a college level anatomy and physiology class with a professor who was clearly a nonbeliever... yet everything he said pointed to a creator, he even made comments about different parts of the body such as bone structure being "created" in such a way to be able to handle the weight that it can while running, among other things. He says to ask Him and he will make himself known to you...

Mainly because of the Bible, but also in nature itself. There is a perfect order to everything in nature. Flowers bloom according to a plan. Each animal is unique upon itself and certainly not the product of evolution, no matter what they say. They can find no descendants of the horse, which would prove evolution is not responsible for their creation.

Just looking at the design of our human body shows that we too are unique. Scientists may say we are related to primates, but where did our speech come from and our brain capacity being able to reason and think beyond that of animals. Also our DNA is so very complicated and intricate that no scientist has been able to reproduce it exactly as it is. I once saw a documentary about cloning and genetic experimentation. Some scientists said when they started studying DNA and trying to duplicate it, they knew this was proof that we were created by God or someone not of this earth. Some were still reluctant to accept that God might be responsible for this. This is good news that some life-long atheists were questioning their beliefs. Very good news.

I have always kind of looked at it this way. I have a cat that I think is reasonably smart. If I tried to explain to him what a computer was, even in the simplest terms, he would not be able to understand what they are and what they do. That does not mean that computers do not exist in the world “he” lives in. In fact, he is at my desk, as I write this, lying right next to it. I just believe our minds (including scientists) are so very finite compared to God’s intelligence and that is why we have to depend on faith and the Bible.

It's not just whether there is a God, but what sort of God He might be.

It's a very long way from empirical belief in an intelligent creator-god and a belief in a God who is personally interested in you, or a God who expects you to love your enemies.

Belief in an intelligent creator is a slam-dunk. You only have to ask yourself what sort of faith it takes to believe that the universe, with all of its orderliness and predictability, happened by accident, or a series of highly improbable coincidences. In fact, the notion of an "accidental universe" defies not only our personal experience with the world, but it defies the very laws of physics it seeks to explain.

But this creator might be the "watchmaker" God - who wound things up, so to speak, and then walks away. He might, for that matter, be an evil being who invented the universe merely as an object for his cruelty.

The most articulate exploration of the path from a belief in a creator-God to an understanding of the savior-God, a God who loves, cares and pays the ultimate price for the redemption of His rebellious creatures, can be found in the book "Mere Christianity", by C.S. Lewis.

Don't misunderstand the use of the term "Mere" to mean "trivial". By "Mere", Lewis meant that he did not intend to explore any given "version" of Christianity, but "raw" Christianity just as it comes out of the Bible, straight and with no twists.

Because when you study how the Bible came into being, so many different authors, at different places and times, that all coincide; nothing contradicts. The information matches archeological finds, history, etc. The fact that there are things in the Bible that were revealed before man "discovered" them, ie, that the world was round, the paths under the sea, etc. etc. Knowing that an all-powerful God was able to create this world, the heavens and all that is in it, it would only make sense that he would recognize the souls he created. That doesn't mean he will accept all into heaven however. He knows us intimately, exactly how many hairs are on our head. It is almost beyond our finite comprehension. The more I read and study the Bible, the more I am convinced. It is a 'living' book. Some of it is so simple, but even that is profound as you ponder it.
