Provided you're not asking that she prays that you get away with robbing a bank or something. Your friend sounds overwhelmed by her problems, so it's good that you're praying for her. This the first time I have ever heard of someone refusing a prayer request.

By the way, I don't know what your specific issues are, but I'll pray that God sees you through whatever it is. I hope you continue to pray and ask others to pray for you.

If your "bad luck" was because of really bad, stupid choices on your part, then I can see her saying that. By that I mean if you just blew a bunch of money you didn't have on something you didn't need, then I can see why she would feel that way.

Either way, I hope you find your way out of whatever "bad luck" has come your way.

When you refuse to pray for someone because of perhaps bad choices they have made which caused them problems, then you are judging (condemning), which is not up to us to do. We all make bad choices and get into trouble because of doing that. I would pray for God's guidance and direction for that person, as I pray for Him to provide that to me each day. Remember, God gave man free will, and there are times when I am sure he is just up there shaking his head at some of the choices we make.

The bad luck had nothing to do with decisions we made. Just the economy in general causing financial hardships. Things that were not in our control. I think we all make some bad choices at certain parts of our lives, but this just was out of control and in the hands of politicians who are bent on destroying our economy, which in turn became loss of jobs, downsizing, and no work.

I just thought it was strange as we have both asked for prayers in the past. Her response just really baffled me. I do continue to pray for her and her hardships that she and her husband go through. I've just stopped burdening her of my life.

I've come here for prayers many times and love the support I get. I'm doing great and am thankful for my community of friends here I have never met. I pray for people here too.

Thanks all. Things are looking up for me.

Replacing your post with a statement that you "no longer wish it up" is a public announcement that you do not value the responses of those who tried to help you. It stays there forever, being a continual insult.

If you want to delete your post, just be adult and delete it. Your post and the responses will all disappear.

It is still rude, but at least it isn't rude forever.

and I was not insulted by her having said she no longer wanted her original message to stay on the board. Actually, it was pretty thoughtful that she provided an explanation as to why she removed the body of her message. Nothing about what she said or did seems to suggest that she doesn't value the responses of those who wanted to help her. She even thanked everyone.

I also answered her post and I, too, think it is very thoughtful of her to take her post off. It tells me that we helped her with our prayers, that they have been answered for her, and she can now remove her post so others realize this as well. And you are right, she did thank all of us.
