I suggest we all move to the middle

Neither the right nor the left have any exclusive claim to solutions - and certainly NOT the far right or the far left.

Washington has never been more dysfunctional, and it's because of the deepening political schism. Out here in the electorate, let's show the politicians how people can come together with goodwill, common sense and moderation to move the nation forward, shall we? And if any politicians cannot or will not learn this lesson from us - whether on the right or the left - let's send them home permanently. We need to do this NOW.

So here is my pledge: I am prepared to consider any moderate candidate - of any party- who exhibits the willingness and the ability to find pathways to compromise and accommodation with others, rather than clinging to the "my-way-or-the-highway" attitude that has crippled our government for far too long.

I hope you'll join me.

I'd imagine many of us, both left and right, would come together on common issues and work to solve those issues. You are spot on with the far right and far left - BOTH sides have completely divided politics and this country. We do need to move back onto stable, moderate ground where we can work to start to solve the many problems facing this country.

A lot depends on coming to the table with realistic expectations - and it's unrealistic not to accept that there's going to be some give-and-take. "Everything I want" is the same as "my-way-or-the-highway", right?

We can do this.

When partisan politicians think they can circumvent the law, - we end up with extreme. For instance,

Obama is entitled to nominate a Supreme Court justice based on his partisan criteria, but the Senate is equally entitled to approve them based on the same criteria.

Also, claiming that the other party is acting extreme when your own party is doing the same means your party is trying to change the laws and putting party over country.

In each party today, the "idealogues" are devouring anyone who they perceive as "betraying" their radical notions of political "purity". Just let one of "ours" reach out to one of "theirs" and the extremists are howling for their heads.

Let's shout down these extremists, who obstruct every and any effort to work together. We DO outnumber them, after all, although it might not seem like it from the racket they make!

Right has the tea party, the left has the socialists. - We must expel them from our midst.

Let the extremist pariahs on each side be rejected by the main parties, which actually, until the recent times of extremist agitation, have had many outstanding STATESMEN/WOMEN who were respected and even revered by people in both parties.
