Ummm, could have sworn Senator Smug Mug deeply opposes - background checks.
[ In Reply To ..]Has he had a sudden change of heart brought on by an irresistible urge to tweet toilet humor mocking gun control and Syrian rebels fighting for their lives under 40 years of Assad Sr and Jr genocidal butchery? Speaking of dark humor, it's going to be interesting to see birthers grapple with their own self-inflicted dilemma of an aspiring presidential candidate who has the inconvenient misfortune to have been born in Canada to a US citizen mother and a foreign national father who did not seek citizenship until 2005 (after living in the US for 48 years) when his son's political ambitions began to crystallize. How many thousands of times have we heard them argue against the CRS report on this legally murky quagmire of eligibility and the definition of "natural born citizen?" Will they do an abrupt 180 and embrace the concept that entitlement to citizenship at birth can be based on his mother's citizenship status and by being in the U.S. for more than 14 years? Only time will tell.
