Why is it that the number one priority..sm

of the Republicans since day one of President Obama's presidency, before he had done anything good or bad, has been to make him a one-term president? I can see it being their second or third priority, but #1? Shouldn't the first priority be working together for the welfare of our country and the citizens who elected them?

I also find it quite odd that during this administration anytime something bad occurs Obama is responsible, anytime good things happen he gets no credit.

Probably too complex to fully delve into on a chat board. Good subject for one of those snobby college attenders to explore. I think it boils down to the corporations and extremely wealthy like Koch brothers, Sheldon out in Nevada and hedge funders want to go about their business unencumbered by watchdogs.The republicans are largely puppets of these folks. As Jeb Bush stated, they prey on the emotions of the base to get it riled up. The base in general is very angry and feels inferior, so they love to find someone they can expend some of their dissatisfaction with life on.

Got the stomach for more. Dems may think they are as pure as the driven snow, but they are as dirty as they come. Just check out backgrounds on Obama's cabinet members. Can start with the ones that think they were above paying ANY taxes, and when caught, never bothered to pay any fines or interest. What you wrote is straight out of a fairy tale. You may be talking about the democrat's from JFK's time, but not the current batch. They're #1 priority is enriching themselves. They do not pass bills that are good for the country, they pass bills that puts money in their pockets and their friends pockets.

Also, who is president does matter to them very much. If a republican president is in office they go out of their way to make sure they don't succeed. The hold meetings behind closed doors, make deals behind closed doors, they fillibuster, and they throw childish tantrums. There is more that I could go into. Oh yes, and they do all that at our expense (i.e. tax money). There is no difference between republicans actions towards a democrat president and democrats actions toward a republican president.

Well the #1 priority of the dems when a republican is in is to make them - sm

a one term president. It's always the party's job to make the opposing party's presidency a one termer. Always has been. This time is no different than when Bush was elected and the Gore/Liberman and other democrats crowd was saying they are going to make sure Bush is a one term present.

It would be nice to have all politicians work together for the better of the country. But neither the republicans OR democrats are interested in that. It also does not help when you have someone stand up and say I'll work with both sides of the isle and then has closed door meetings and won't let any republicans into the meetings that they should be sitting in on.

And I find it quite odd that during this administration Obama won't take responsibility for the mistakes and bad things that happen, but prefers to blame everyone else. The good things, yup you can bet he's going to take credit for them.

first priority is to get republicans out of the way. I don't see much working together from either side of the aisle here. As for not giving Obama credit unless it is for bad stuff....liberals did the same thing when Bush was in office. That is just the way it works. It only seems to bother some of you when it is your guy getting hit with the criticism but have no trouble giving it to the other side.

spam calls (a lot of those 100222 type numbers) and I get 3 in 2 days from Midland!! I have had my number on the Do Not Call list, which of course does no good. I have a net10 phone and wonder if anyone knows of an app or something I can get to stop these irritating, harrassing calls!!
