White House behind national security leaks

Posted: Jul 24, 2012

If Feinstein is claiming this, it must be a dire threat. Otherwise, she wouldn't go against her party's leader. The incredible thing is, they've appointed HOLDER to investigate! He is unquestionably biased. They need a truly independent prosecutor. http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/US-SecurityClearances/2012/07/23/id/446301;

That' incredible. - Libs usually circle the wagons.

Wonder if this is the last we'll hear of this. You know how the MSM has selective hearing.

Best not count those unhatched chickens - just yet

Beside the Justice Department investigation, there are also ongoing Senate Armed Services Committee and FBI probes. Don’t think anybody on the left side of the aisle would have the slightest objection to an independent investigation either.

According to the article, there are 4.86 million people that have access to sensitive security information and data. Are you presuming they are all democrats? While the speculative leak motive of making the president and his foreign policies “look good” in an election year may seem plausible to some, it is also entirely possible that the perp(s) knew the leaks in and of themselves would make him look really, really bad as well, especially judging by the exhaust fumes coming from the right-wing media and blogs suggesting the president should be tried for treason. They get positively giddy over any and all opportunities they perceive would cast him as the big, bad boogeyman, who is a threat to all things American.

Just for the record, President Obama doesn't need this alleged "help." His foreign policy accomplishments are one of his greatest strengths, which the polls have consistently shown. The Romney campaign has already figured this out. They are deluding themselves if they think Mitt's overseas expat fundraising jaunt....whoops, make that "listen and learn" tour, is going to make a dent in those numbers. They have about as much chance of doing that as they have of capturing the Latino vote.

As I recall, Obama was positively livid when this happened, more than likely because he is smart enough to already realize that White House folks may be the culprits. His response was swift and deliberate. The legislative initiatives Feinstein describes seem appropriate, though they probably have very little chance of ever passing through the congressional morasse. "Dire threat?" "Go against her leader?" Come ON. She's not saying anything President Obama has not already said himself.

In the meantime, there is nothing sensible left to do with this other than wait for the outcome of the various investigations. Those who anxiously anticipate a blockbuster game-changing scandal that will insure their candidate’s success this fall probably ought to come up for air, for their own sakes. Ain’t about to happen.

Pres. O is a snake - will say anything in an election year.

[ In Reply To ..]
I've never heard so many lies coming from the Oval Office, not even under Clinton.

Sing it sister - Can't wait to see the Lib spin

[ In Reply To ..]
Obama's latest pack of lies. Obama is a such a degenerate, lying, unAmerican, unpatriotic slug that has no interest but his own uppermost in his mind at all times.

Tell us how you really feel! - S/M

"Snake"? Name-calling is not very nice.

I thought Geo. W. Bush was an awful president, but I made sure I never called him names, even when I posted on an anonymous forum like this. In fact, I took pains to always refer to him as "Pres. Bush" rather than just "Bush" or "W" or any of the less-than-respectful ways many people referred to him. If I don't agree with or dislike a sitting president, I still think they deserve a degree of respect. After all, they're still in a higher status than I am! Maybe I'm really old school, but I would never have the nerve to address them disrespectfully, face-to-face, if I was talking to the Pres. of the U.S., no matter how much I disliked him or her.
Too bad, "snake" fits - ....
[ In Reply To ..]
.
Yes, my error. - Should not name-call a sitting president.
[ In Reply To ..]
I have too much respect for the office. My apologies.

This part of my statement stands, though, "He will say anything in an election year."
Thank you! I support.... - (see message)
[ In Reply To ..]
....your right to make a statement like that, even if I don't necessarily agree. :-)

Heck, you have a right to call him anything you want as far as that goes. I just personally don't think it's very nice to use words like "snake" and "slug" -- it also just inflames the opposition, and that's part of how discussions on these boards get very juvenile and unproductive.

Thanks again! I respect you for saying this.
I liked your post - Conservative
[ In Reply To ..]
It would be great if the namecalling stopped altogether. Would elevate all the posts on the board to not have to sift through all that juvenile behavior. Hats off to you and all others that refuse to participate in that. Thank you!

And now we know - the Lib spin starts here

Rush to judgment - waste of time

[ In Reply To ..]
Need I mention Jon Benet Ramsey, Zimmerman case, Whitewater, etc. etc.

Feinstein is backpedaling - bigtime!

[ In Reply To ..]
The higher ups got on her case for letting it slip.

Hmmm. Intentional WH leak of classified info. - Why does that sound so familiar?

[ In Reply To ..]
Feinstein is addressing any legislative deficiencies that may have contributed to the leak in the first place. This is appropriately within her prerogative as US senator. Where I come from, that amounts to an aggressive hands-on approach that can and should be pursued regardless of the outcome of the investigations. This demonstrates an acute concern over the nature of the leaks and a focus on viable future preventative measures.

This certainly was not the case during the previous administration with the retaliative outting of Valerie Plame, involving the VP Vader's Chief of Staff who was ultimately convicted on 4 felony counts of perjury, obstruction of justice and lying to federal investigators. He was sentenced, fined, and given 2 years probation, to commence after the prison term. His subsequent appeal failed.

So just how concerned was the administration that their chief scapegoat...errr, I mean Chief of Staff had been caught redhanded? W took the unprecdented move of commuting the prison term BEFORE IT EVEN BEGAN and VP Vader whined and groused on behalf of the poor, disgraced felon, reduced to 400 hours of community service, whose standing conviction would prevent him from ever practicing law again.

Back then, the GOP denounced the same "rush to judgment" in the Plame case they now manifest in this current incident under investigation, decrying the right to the presmption of innocence and how partisans were "playing politics." Oh, really? Hypocrisy rears its ugly head once again. What a shock! If you want a textbook case of a White House administration INTENTIONALLY leaking classified information in retaliation for a US ambassador daring to criticize their now known BOGUS justification for the Iraq War, look no further.

They have already pulled a Corey Booker on her and walked it back - A snake is a snake is a snake

[ In Reply To ..]
As long as I still have freedom of speech, I shall call him what I wish.

There are 3 active intense investigations, - cutesy cute sniper fire nonwitstanding.

[ In Reply To ..]
Don't expect an October surprise to compensate for Romney's immeasurable shortcomings.

Glad to see those with the presence of mind - still able to recognize a snake

and has the guts to call what it is. Kudos to you!

WikiLeaks - The MSM And National SecurityJul 27, 2010
By Howard Kurtz Washington Post Staff Writer Tuesday, July 27, 2010; 10:03 AM Question of the day: Should the New York Times, the Guardian and Der Spiegel have done it? Should they have collaborated with the organization known as WikiLeaks in publicizing 92,000 pages of secret documents about the war in Afghanistan? The White House wasted no time in denouncing the leaks as "irresponsible." The news organizations can argue, above all, that these documents provide vital information about ...

Big, big decision. Note, this at the Federal District Court level. A dem. Obama's Manning Decision: Obama's Dangerous Move Reveals Scary Take On National SecurityJan 18, 2017
The commutation of Chelsea Manning’s prison term will forever be a blot on President Obama’s legacy. Just as the pardon granted Marc Rich by President Clinton on his last day in office became a totem of the odious pay-to-play money grubbing of Bill and Hillary, l’affaire Manning will be an enduring reminder of Obama’s constant pandering to special voter groups and mindless adherence to a progressive agenda. It will also stand as testimony to President Obama’s questionable fealty to ...

Huge Spike of Families Crossing Border The Daily Caller:   "New data shows the White House has painted a false picture of the Central American migration by hiding a huge spike in “family units” who are illegally crossing the Texas border. The data, which was dumped by the U.S. border patrol late Friday afternoon, shows that inflow of youths and children traveling without parents has doubled since 2013, to 57,525 in the nine months up to July 2014. The "national Security" Justification: Are ThereJun 11, 2013
It's been said that a cat won't sit on a hot stove twice, nor on a cold one either.  The cat learns a lesson from the hot stove - but it only learns that the stove itself is dangerous; it doesn't distinguish a hot stove from a cold one. It learns, yes, but it learns the wrong thing, and in doing so it takes the "lesson" beyond the existential reality, i.e. that it is heat, and not the stove itself, that is dangerous. Was 9/11 our "hot stove"?  In the panic that followe ...

The Battle Between The White House And Fox NewsOct 20, 2009
The Obama administration, which would seem to have its hands full with a two-front war in Iraq and Afghanistan, opened up a third front last week, this time with Fox News.
