How refreshing to see a politician call a spade a spade. - Maddow was right to

[ In Reply To ..]
characterize Weiner as the consummate democrat, raised up on his hind legs, fighting for HCR. Long overdue. Here's hoping to see much, much more of this in the weeks to come as this last phase of HCR winds down. Personally, I hope Weiner sticks around until he doubles his age. He seems to be very sincere in his passion for HCR.

Maddow is disgusting. THIS HCR will cut Medicare. Grandma - needs the care the most, so how

[ In Reply To ..]
can you support THIS bill? The left is so full of two-faced elitism and total hypocrisy.

Your glaringly obvious hate-filled attacks prove one thing . . . - Really:

[ In Reply To ..]
that you have posted several suspicously similar nasty remarks under different monikers . . . you are so pleasant -- I'd like to party with you sometime . . . giggle, giggle
There was no hate-filled attacks - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
First, saying "the left is full of two-faced elitism and total hypocricy" is not hate filled. It's just a fact. And if you think it's hate-filled it is no worse than what people on this board have been saying about republcans. In fact it is way way milder.

Second, you do NOT know that the person you replied to has been posting other things under different monikers. That is called "assuming". And so what if she/he has. There is no rule against posting under different monikers.

Disagreeing with a person with a difference of opinion is not hate-filled.

I started watching the link, and even took a swallow and steadied myself for the hate that Maddow spews from her hole. She is so full of herself, but then so are the liberals in congress. They need to be knocked down a notch or two and listen to the people of the country. If not they need to be fired.

Oh wait...they will be this year....

giggle, giggle.
Thank you so much for proving my point -- First: So when the libs disagree . . . - Really?
[ In Reply To ..]
with the pubs, it's "hate-filled", but it's fact when a pub spews -- alrightlythen

Second: You're right, I have no proof, but as I am so constantly reminded by your particular species, we have a right to our opinions.

And as far as November . . . . . . we shall see . . . .
No...some opinions are not allowed on this board - Lindy

Killing the messenger and ignoring the message - is not going to win any elections.

But keep on keeping on. You are rendering a great service to the Democratic party.
You just hate Maddow cuz she's smart and you can't - disprove the facts she presents. nm

nm
ha ha ha. Thanks for the laugh - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
I don't hate her. I just find her nauseatingly insufferable.

Sure she's a pretty gal. Wish I had her looks. I think her skin complexion is absolutely gorgeous. But smart? Well I guess if you are a liberal and like her then you would think she is smart. I think she is good at her job of being a TV personality, but unfortunately she is like Olberman. They can't differentiate fact from fiction and are so nauseatingly full of themselves.

I used to watch her along with Olberman and Matthews. Until I found out they were less than truthful during the election and spewed hate filled rhetoric for anyone not a liberal. They wouldn't even report facts. Just their version of what they believed. So I stopped watching them.

Whatever so called "facts" you think she presented...well maybe your right. I got through about 2 of her sentences then shut her off, took my Pepto Bismol and I'm good for the night.

Time for a light comedy to get the political nonsense out of the way.
This must mean you find replying to Maddow and Weiner - on HCR is too challenging. Got it. nm
[ In Reply To ..]

[ In Reply To ..]
in your message I did not say anything about that. That would be a different post.

Thanks for reflecting off of the subject I responded to.

Yea...Got it.
Umm, you too busy slamming Maddow to notice the original - subject of the thread?

Maddow THINKS she is smart, but very few others do - at least the intelligent ones know
[ In Reply To ..]
she is a snobby know-it-all who gives her opinion as fact. I will NEVER watch her again....and I tried.
Amazing. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Oxford - which would explain
[ In Reply To ..]
your elitist/snob anti-academia, anti-intellectual labels. She has an excellent command of facts and knows how to use them in ways to build arguments and state her case that you cannot refute. For those among us who are not intimidated by the truth that lays behind fact, she is amazingly straightforward and down to earth. She conveys no snoot whatsoever and, in fact, is very open and comes off as a neighbor or friend.

Also to her credit, her face-to-face interviews with opposing views (with the ones brave enough to appear on the show) are respectful and conducted in ways that elicit informative dialog that represents both sides of an argument well for her audience. Her style stands in sharp contrast to folks such as Chris Matthews, who interrupts constantly, is intrusive and all about showing off, Bill-O and Hannity, whose tolerance for opposition are in the subzero range.

This has nothing to do with substituting opinon for fact. What she does is SUBSTANTIATE opinion with fact....big difference. No wonder all flavors of GOP despise her so much, since her focus is on them and she is so gifted and adept at taking them down a peg or two (or ten on a good day....she's had a lot of those lately).
Too bad no one watches her....they're all busy watching Fox! - Anon

Speaking of hypocrisy, hasn't GOP hatred of Medicare been legendary - over the past couple of decades?...

[ In Reply To ..]
Also, since when is the GOP against curbing wasteful spending? Give it up. You have no credibility on this one, due to those pesky public voting records and a thing called history.

Phoney outrage. Another dead-end campaign strategy.

BTW, elitism (buzz-buzz code word for intelligence) will probably look a whole lot more appealing to voters than willful ignorance and that great big DUH the GOP is offfering up with regard to solving the nation's problems.
Wow. Reality bites. Not a single soul brave enough - to step up to this plate? nm

Anthony Weiner is my hero! I showed this to - my repub husband who

[ In Reply To ..]
keeps just saying "why can't we just go single payer?" He totally gets it! He is forwarding this to members of his mostly repub family!

I am so proud of Anthony Weiner-hope he helps the other dems grow the b***s that they so desparately need! I thought this was great stuff!

Then I guess it isn't true that opposites - attract eh?

[ In Reply To ..]
Neither one of you can tell the other one what's wrong with single payer.

Color me utterly amazed.
Why not try illustrating your point with substantiated argument - instead of personalized drive-bys?
[ In Reply To ..]
What's the matter? Did you run out of crayons?

What you should be amazed about is that she was lucky enough to marry a pub with an open mind, a rare breed indeed. He deserves as much credit as Weiner when it comes to common sense.

Let's see if I understand you correctly, Miss Drive-By - just summarizing here
[ In Reply To ..]
1. People who think like you have an open mind. Others do not.

2. Republicans with an "open mind" are rare, de facto (see #1).

3. Single-payer is "common sense", and therefore the majority of Americans lack common sense, of course.

4. Any time someone indicates support for single-payer, it's necessary for those who reply to make the full argument against single-payer as if it had not already been completely discredited in a jillion other posts, news articles, analyses, etc., etc. This will make the forum rather boring, doncha think?

Wow - four shots in one drive-by. You are GOOD!
Your post has evolved from drive-by to tit-for-tat - but issue remains unaddressed.
[ In Reply To ..]
To begin with, drive-bys beget drive-by, tit-for-tats beget tit-for-tats and informed dialog tends to attract those able to participate, along with posts employing a whole host of stunts and tactics designed to confuse and deflect.

I love lists. They are so efficient.

1. Didn't say that. I was simply expressing my astonishment that the original poster had managed to marry an endangered species.
2. We don't run across many of them on this forum or chat rooms. Maybe you could dispute this issue by directing us to a link that illustrates a pub being open minded.

Look, dear, I do not share your tendency toward drawing wild-hair subjective conclusions in broad brushstrokes. I prefer hard data. Public option still enjoys a clear majority support. Link below is a poll conducted December 2, 2009, showing 60% overall approval: 86 percent of Democrats support the public option versus 57 percent of Independents and 33 percent of Republicans. You seem to be in the bottom third of that one.

This may or may not be reflecting the degree of common sense you possess. You political viewpoints do not say nearly as much about that as your posts do. Anyway, if you can come up with a more recent poll disputing clear majority support for public option, I really would be interested in seeing it. BTW, No de facto allowed on words I didn't say, unless of course you are scoring your own words for some strange reason.
3. Didn't say that, you did.
4. Looks like you can't come up with any precise information or citations, ergo are not interested in anything beyond vague references and reactionary exchange. Have you recently been hit up for a donation to the GOP? Received any robocalls this morning?

So far, you're batting a big fat goose egg.

You're so smart, yet you can't post a link....LOL! - Anon
[ In Reply To ..]
It's actually quite simple. In fact, there's even a box for it right below the box I'm typing in right now...it's called URL/Link. You copy and paste the link you're referring to into that box and voila....it magically appears! This way, I don't have to actually do your work for you.
You too lazy to copy and paste? A reply to subject matter - is notably absent.
[ In Reply To ..]
The info is there for those who actually care anything about credibility. You do not strike me as one of those folks. You would much rather obsess over the trite and mundane as substantive posts seem far beyond your reach.

Once again, the hypocrisy of the left raises its ugly head. Remember the outcry about Bush's ANG records? Remember everyone comparing Gore's SAT score of 1350 to Bush's 1204?

So why haven't you DEMANDED to see Obama's, instead of rallying behind a radical buffoon whom you know next-to-nothing about?

All that matters to you is he's a "progressive."

I'd feel sorry for you, except for the fact that this man is attempting to destroy this country from within, against which I will wholeheartedly fight...but you evidently have no problem with.

Actually, I changed my mind.

I do feel sorry for you.
Actually, Anon, the post was regarding my - republican husband
[ In Reply To ..]
and his IQ and the fact that he is able to see through the HCR BS on the right. I feel sorry for you, as either you can't read, or as many suspect, you just don't bother reading posts and just react with typical, kneejerk, uninformed, right wing talking points~just keep regurgitating and try to make everyone who disagrees feel stupid (you failed miserably, BTW) or just fall in goosestep behind the pugs. And assuming YOU were talking about the President, the man not trying to "destroy the country from within", he is trying to fix it. I could not stand Bush, but I would never say he was "trying" to destroy the country. He was a fool and made some lousy decisions and did not learn from his mistakes. Also spent wayyy too much time on vacation instead of on the job.

Going to bed now. Go talk to yourself for awhile.
You say your husband is a republican, but.... - Anon
[ In Reply To ..]
talk is cheap.

Did you know Bambi has golfed more times in his 1st year in office than Bush did in 8 years? Does that bother you one tiny bit?

I mean, if you're begrudging Bush free time, you'd have to begrudge Bambi spending so much time on the links, wouldn't you? I mean, it's only fair.

Oh wait, you're a liberal. Fairness never applies to conservatives in your minds.

I do not begrudge any prez free time. In fact, I am envious. I have not had a vacation in 10 years as I could not afford it. And, don't even try to compare this to Obama going out for a few hours at a time to play golf. And, with the mess that Bush left him, he deserves the down time. You will notice, he does manage to stay in DC for his down time.

We can stop discussing my husband. He is a registered repub. He is highly intelligent. He and I do not agree politically quite often. However, he agrees with me on this. And, BTW, he is fine being married to a Liberal, and I am proud to be one, so please back off. I will not be responding to any more of your posts and would appreciate if you would avoid mine.

than Faux. Nobody likes the bill that was the result of spineless dems allowing the pubs to water the bill down to the point that it was worthless! THAT is the bill nobody liked. That, and they do the same as you and watch Faux so they only hear the fear-mongering instead of facts and so they have the typical kneejerk pub response.

I am not the one that posted above but I did watch CNN tonight where 2 Democrat senators were interv - anon

each giving detailed information on why they do not like this bill and will not vote for it. At the time I was working and could not listen to the entire interviews but it was very interesting and was pretty much right on target with another interview that I heard on Fox last night. I really wish that I could have listened to the interviews completely.

I agree with you that some at Fox do produce fear-mongering instead of the facts but not all, just like some on CNN and MSNBC are so closed-minded that they continue to insist that everything that this administration is doing is wonderful and the absolute best for our country. Again, not all on these stations, but some.

I live in Georgia, one of the hardest hit states for unemployment and now there is the announcement that colleges are going to start laying off, cutting back and increasing tuition. I totally and completely agree that healthcare reform needs to happen but what I do not understand is how our government can push a bill this huge, in this lousy economy and with the highest unemployment rates ever seen, knowing that this bill is going to raise taxes, something else that one of the Democratic senators was talking about tonight.

Honestly, and I am NOT trying to start an argument with anyone, just wanting to discuss the issue, wouldn't it make more sense to stimulate jobs so that people can get back to work and allow the economy to recuperate some before pushing something this huge through?

To me it just makes sense to allow people to get back on their feet before knocking them down again and I am afraid that this is exactly what is going to happen if this bill passes.

You really would do well to watch any news - at all

[ In Reply To ..]
Even the liberal media are no longer ignoring the train wreck that's coming, nor are they ignoring the Dems who are having problems with Obama's "transformational agenda".

Therefore, we may reasonably conclude that you are either suffering from that quirk of the human brain that ignores evidence it doesn't like or that none of this evidence is getting to you in the first place.
Gee! Ouch, that hurt! LOL! Actually, I see lots - of news from numerous

sources. I think the difference is I have the ability to get all the information and not just react to everything I hear. I get all the evidence, and go beyond talking points. You should try it sometime.
