I guess this shows our standing in the world. Of course, we already knew they hated us, but this kind of ridicule? The ridicule is a new thing, like oh, maybe the last 5 years or so. This is really sad.

Also, do you really think that an 11-year-old from Syria would be able to write English this way? To me, it seems too informal, too American. There are no real problems with sentence structure either. Most overseas kids who learn English typically learn British English, not American English, as well. I see no British spellings, etc.
