Typical fraudulent behaviors by the Democrats.

Posted: Nov 6, 2013

This is how the Dems operate.  I just hope the Republicans see this coming in 2014 - they will have to or we won't win the Senate.  By then, Obamacare will be a total disaster and we have every chance of winning the Senate, but for this type of behavior by those less honest than us.

This is a Trick Right Out of the "Politics 101" Textbook - *Seriously

[ In Reply To ..]
Oh, please! This kind of thing is nothing new. It's a page right out of Politics 101. Why assign it to one poltical party when they're all doing it? And don't even get me started on gerrymandering. That is another ball of wax there.

This kind of political shenanigans has been going on since "George" accused the four "Johns" of doing it back in 1788-1789.

The candidates were:
George Washington, former president of the Philadelphia Convention from Virginia
John Adams, former ambassador to Great Britain from Massachusetts
John Jay, United States Secretary of Foreign Affairs from New York
John Rutledge, former Governor of South Carolina
John Hancock, Governor of Massachusetts
Samuel Huntington, Governor of Connecticut
Benjamin Lincoln, former U.S. Secretary of War from Massachusetts
Edward Telfair, former Governor of Georgia

Now we all know how that one turned out.

Man, those were the days. There was almost an entire month to vote! We could never get a month to vote these days, the Republicans know that time to vote equals more people voting, and we all know that the more people vote, the more the Democrats win. So suppressing the vote of the people, yet another of the many tactics from the textbook of Politics 101.

Why, in this day and age, would you need a - month to vote?

[ In Reply To ..]
I understand that extra times has to be given to service men and women who are overseas and time needs to be given for mail-ins, but we have cars and buses now whereas they had horses back then (if they were lucky and didn't have to just walk). Exactly how far do you have to drive (or ride a bus)to your polling place that you can't get there and back in a day?

Don't give them any ideas. It's bad enough (sm) - me

[ In Reply To ..]
the Democrats don't think you should be required to show a simple ID to vote. People who need a month to vote are just being discriminated against - (whiny voice for this last).
If the ID Has A Price Tag or Hardship to Acquire for People? - *Seriously
[ In Reply To ..]
If the ID is hard to acquire and has a price tag (like a driver's license) then it might be a hardship for some people to acquire it. Not everyone drives or carries a gun, etc. I think everyone should have a right to vote without it costing anything. IMO, it should be a right and not a privilege that you have to pay money to do.

There were some states that were willing to accept a gun permit as ID but not a college ID (obvious bias there). That is where I think a lot of the protesting about having to have certain kinds of ID's were coming from.
You can get a state ID - ZvilleMT
[ In Reply To ..]
for free and anyone that signs up for food stamps or welfare of any kind has to have one - when my SIL signed up for food stamps and utility assistance, she had to have an ID. She doesn't drive, so she got a state ID completely free. I think as long as the ID has a picture on it (some colleges do this), then it should be accepted.

Did she have to have some form of documentation - for identity to get ID?
[ In Reply To ..]
Did she need a birth certificate or something else to prove identity or US citizenship? Most state ID cards require at least one other documentation. If a person does not have that documentation, it has to be acquired and usually a fee is attached to that.
She had to have her birth certificate... - ZvilleMT
[ In Reply To ..]
which cost her $3 at the health department and they sent it through the mail. I don't understand if it's a hardship to have an ID to vote, why isn't it a hardship to have an ID to sign up for public assistance too? Aren't these the very same people we're talking about?
In my state they start at 9 dollars and you have to include a picture - ID with the application
[ In Reply To ..]
Well... I wonder how, if a person needs a birth certificate in order to get a picture ID, are they supposed to get the birth certificate if a picture ID is necessary to get the BC? Do you see this might pose problems?

BTW, this is a red governor state with red legislature.
Why do you assume - NK
[ In Reply To ..]
that everyone who needs a photo ID is on welfare?

I checked the BMV site, which states that 5 documents are required to obtain a state ID, reminiscent of completing an I-9. Of course, there's not a BMV in every town, which would make it more difficult. In fact, my county has one office that serves the entire county.
OMG, that's not even what I said. - ZvilleMT
[ In Reply To ..]
What I said was if you're going to sign up for some kind of public assistance, you have to have a photo ID.

Just nevermind.
actually, I think that is what you said - sm

Here Is The Church, Here Is The Steeple, Open The Door - *Seriously

And see all the people. There are 10 million people living in 1 city these days. There were not even 10 million people in the entire United States back then. I'm just guessing, but I think it was approximately 4 million in the entire country.

I wouldn't say we need an entire month to vote, but what would be the harm? Oh, right, the Democrats would win if the people were actually allowed to vote and not faced with every single impediment known to man.

That's why.
But a better question is, Why not?! :-) - (nm)
[ In Reply To ..]
x
How exactly would the dems - win?
[ In Reply To ..]
There are polling places all over these days - back then, even though there were fewer people, they had to travel a long way to get to a place where they could vote. Most people these days can get to a polling place within 15 minutes, give or take. I really don't understand what the hardship is. You seem to be implying that the country is full of democrats that aren't allowed to vote and that it's the republicans that are keeping them from doing so. The way I see it, if there were at least a picture ID necessary to vote, it would keep dems from voting more than once, nothing more.
So you are saying supervisors of elections/canvasing boards, poll workers, etc. - are incompetent? NM
[ In Reply To ..]
x
Not all of - them...
[ In Reply To ..]
but some of them are as corrupt as the people who think there's no problem voting for themselves, their kids, their dead parents, etc.
Which ones? Do you know this from personal experience? - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
You are quite incorrect and it is an insult to county employees who are charged with verifying voter information, name changes, address changes, deaths, etc.

How about the poll worker in Cleveland - Ohio
[ In Reply To ..]
who is now in jail for voter fraud? I am quite correct and just because you choose to believe that it's the GOP suppressing the vote rather than trying to make it honest and fair, I'm afraid I could provide you with 100s of examples, but it wouldn't make a difference.
So because one person broke the law, we should penalize - everyone?
[ In Reply To ..]
What's the harm in extended voting hours? What's the harm in assuming the supervisor of elections is doing their job by verifying citizenship, addresses, etc., and purging the dead? If they do that, then why isn't a voter's registration card good enough?

And what's the voter fraud percentage? Something like 0.0004? Sounds like something that really needs extreme action, like making people stand in line for hours... makes no sense.
Yup, you're - right

It was only one person. In the entire country. No voter fraud problem. Anywhere. Just go about your business. Nothing to see here.

But none of these were linked to or could have been remedied by voter ID or shortening voting hours.

And below is a little tidbit from a fav con source. While I don't agree with some of their suggestions to improve the voting system, the article is pretty right on.
Voter Suppression Is Not About Stopping People From Either Party From Voting Multiple Times - *Seriously
[ In Reply To ..]

Voter suppression is a fact that disproportionately targets largely voters that vote for Democrat candidates.  There have been some Republicans that have actually admitted this and are on record saying so.  They don't even try to prove voter fraud anymore.  There's no point, as voter fraud is largely nonexistent.

Due to the large voter participation in 2008, the Republicans decided that disenfranchising people out of their votes would be their best course of action.  Depending on the state in question and the laws to vote in that state, voter suppression disproportionately affects young voters, women, minorities, low-income, and some older people born without a birth certificate.

There were even Republicans that were trying to do away with the 26th Amendment.  The 26th Amendment was passed and signed into law by Richard Nixon.  "Old enough to fight, old enough to vote."  Needless to say, the 26th Amendment is still alive and well despite Republican cries to abolish it.  If young people voted Republican, I am guessing they would want to decrease the age to 16 with the slogan, "Old enough to drive, old enough to vote."

Democrats know this fact, and they have taken measures to combat it.  This is why Gallup incorrectly predicted a Mitt Romney win in last year's election.  Gallup thought voter participation would remain the same in 2012 as it was in 2008.  Wrong.  Democrats took steps to combat the disenfranchisement of the voters.  They mobilized their forces and actually increased their voter rolls in the swing states that would decide the election.

Problem solved.  Nothing like someone trying to take your vote away to get some people motivated.

So it was okay for Rick Scott of FL to cut voting hours and have people - stand in line for hours?
[ In Reply To ..]
He's all but admitted it wasn't such a smart thing to do. What's the harm in extending hours? Or is it okay for people to have to wait forever to vote?

cars, buses, and horses - NK

[ In Reply To ..]
I live in a small rural town with no public transportation and no taxi service. There are elderly people who no longer drive and thus have no cars. I do know someone with Belgian draft horses, but she says they can't be ridden comfortably because their backs are too wide. We have always been able to use other forms of ID besides government-issued picture IDs, and it would be a hardship for those people to get those IDs if our attorney general gets his way. Having early voting times makes it easier for them to arrange for transportation since they can do it at the same time as grocery shopping, but I don't know of anyone who is requesting a month.
You need transportation to vote? Call your local party office. They usually pick up - and return voters to their homes if no transportat

I would be in favor of online voting. - ZvilleMT
[ In Reply To ..]
As long as it could be done on a super-secure site so there could be no chance of tampering with someone's vote. Heck, make it an app on the iPhone and have it tied to that person's account - that way only one vote per person.

But then you would have the problem of some people not having internet access and there would start the entire "suppression" argument all over again.
Many churches and community centers - do the same thing. (nm)

Oregon is so EASY to vote. You vote right in the comfort of your home. It is called voting by mail. After you vote, you can mail your ballot in or go to your local police station or post office and put your ballot in a ballot box. Simple and easy.
be sure your signature is updated if you vote by mail - word of advice
[ In Reply To ..]
Voting by mail is definitely the most convenient, but before anyone votes by mail, be sure to go to your supervisor of elections office (or whatever it's called in your state) and be sure your signature is updated. Ballots that have questionable matching signatures are discarded, and in some states they are not obligated to even inform the voter.

The people who verify signatures are not handwriting experts, so...

I prefer to not take the chance that someone might not like my ballot, determine I didn't dot my "i" exactly as it is on file, and throw out my ballot. Unless I don't have a choice, I'll go to the polls to be on the safe side.

Lots of reasons - For starters

[ In Reply To ..]
30 days at a vote each day = 30 votes for 1 person. Of course while misconstruing it stating that those votes that only I did are "the majority of Americans" :-)

So, that would be a vote every day. If you live close to another state you can run over there and vote too. So that would give you 60 votes in one month. Yeah, that's fair isn't it? Just as long as my candidate wins.

It will also give us enough time to register our dogs and cats to vote. I've got 3 dogs and 2 cats, so that's 5 votes each day for them = 150 votes in that month, coupled with my 30 = 180 votes for me (and that's if I just stay in my own state).

I'm also hoping they'll let everyone vote through the internet again. Wow, can you imagine the endless number of votes I can cast. I'm sure they allow that like they did the last time.

And we'll keep repeating that the majority of voters voted for whoever we voted for 180 or more times hoping people will be asleep and won't realize that it was really one one person voting multiple times. Shhhhhh just don't tell anyone.
