California alone has the 7th largest economy in the world and growing; that's larger than Russia, Italy, Brazil, etc. California has the #1 economy in the United States with all other states beneath it.

So anyone who thinks California is "going down" has absolutely no clue what they're talking about. Kansas actually is going down thanks to conservative policies, to be sure. Google the phrase "Kansas reaps the whirlwind of it's right-wing experiment." Really bad news there.

I have a news flash for you. Prior to, and for A CENTURY AFTER the Emancipation Proclamation, it was the DEMOCRAT party that opposed racial integration, promoted Jim Crow laws in the South, conducted gerrymandering operations in order to minimize the power of the black vote, etc.

The KKK was born out of this tradition, protected by local Democrat officials at the state, county and local levels, etc.

Apparently they stopped teaching history in school just before you got to the part about how the Republican and Democrat parties essentially swapped platforms in the past half century or so.

So yes, while the KKK was born out of the Democrat mindset of the late 1800s and early 1900s, that is the same mindset that is now prevalent in the Republican party.

It's good you're aware that in the past the Democrats were the backwards party, bent upon keeping blacks subservient. It's more important, though, to deal with the problems *today*, among them being that the Republicans took over that political role.
