Piers should be worried

Posted: Jan 9, 2013

However, as the Daily Caller reported in December, the First Amendment does not protect Morgan from possible deportation in this case. Wall Street Journal columnist James Taranto explained on Twitter December 22 the legal precedent that prevents Morgan from citing the First Amendment to protect his status in the United States: âYour opinion is protected, your presence in the U.S. is not. See Kleindienst v. Mandel (1972),â Taranto replied to Morgan. The first amendment may not protect him - grits

but common sense kind of does.

I don't believe Kleindienst v. Mandel is germane here - jmo

but that's just me.

Of course it's not. Statute that upheld K vs M is specifically - applied to advocates of

communist economics, international and government doctrines, NOT those who voice popular opinions regarding gun control. The 1st Amendment freedoms of speech and press are the same ones that have shown rags like the DC and Drudge to be the voices of extreme factions who seek to portray people who DARE to suggest we should have a national dialog about reasonable gun control laws as treasonous "aliens." Even this really stupid stuff is protected, so I doubt Piers is losing any sleep over the latest conniptions coming out of that camp.

I'm afraid I agree he has nothing to worry about at all. - Common sense isn't dead, just boring to blog

about. The whole thing is silly, the people yammering to put aside the law and suppress his right to free speech very...suboptimal citizens. To put it mildly.

Larry King Vs Piers Morgan....missing Larry!Feb 08, 2011
I admit Larry King's shows were not as compelling as they used to be...after all he has interviewed everyone and all subjects.  I think he was a great interviewer...he was not rude and he knew how to listen.  But this Piers guy,  I can't figure out for what reason they chose him.  He's rude, arrogant and interrupts which makes for a boring show.     Like most interviewers these day....they seem to think we want to hear what they have to say and not th ...

Anyone Worried About Xmas?Nov 14, 2009
I only have 3 paychecks left until Christmas and I am kind of bummed.  I have 3 small kids so that is where the money gets tight.  My mother in law told me not to get her anything this year, as with every other year.  This one year I took her up on that and didn't get her anything and I felt like just a creep when we all opened our gifts.  She got loads of stuff and we didn't get her anything.  She told me that I need to get over that feeling, but I cant!!!&nbs ...

I Was Wondering (maybe More Worried)Apr 21, 2010
My father passed away this past week, he took his own life.  He was 75 years old and in bad physical shape and constant pain. His nightmare was that he would be put into a nursing home. He was a fiercely independent man living alone and was at the point of not being able to care for himself. He led a good life and was a very generous man with many friends. I am wondering about suicide in this case, what do you all think about what is going to happen to his Soul?  I really hav ...

So You're Worried That This AdministrationDec 08, 2013
is trying to make us all economically equal by providing health insurance to those who have not been able to afford it?  Well, they have a long way to go.  Are you aware that the Walton family has as much wealth as the bottom 40% of the U.S. population?  How long do you think it will take to even that out?  Do you know that the top 20% of the population owns 90% of the country's wealth.  Think that's going to change because of Obamacare?  And please don ...

Dog Question. I'm Kind Of Worried About My Little Chihuahua (sm)Feb 21, 2015
He had 4 shots yesterday, usually it's just 2 or 3.  Obviously, he's sore, he even yelped when he got one of them.  He is sore today, but just not acting right.  He won't jump up to my lap, walking very slowly, not eating.  I did call the vet but he hasn't called back yet.  From what I've been reading on the net, it seems like that might be common, and as long as he drinks water,  he will be all right.  He is drinking water today if I p ...

Authors: McCain Aides Worried That Palin Was âmentally UnstableâJan 11, 2010
By Stephen C. WebsterSunday, January 10th, 2010 -- 11:04 pm It's a perfect storm for former lawmaker Sarah Palin. A book due out this week by political journalists John Heilemann and Mark Halperin has all the right politicos sweating and backpedaling, from John McCain to the Senate majority leader, and even Bill and Hillary Clinton. But in "Game Change", it's Palin who really takes it on the nose. According to an advance copy thoroughly dog-ear'd by The New York Times, some Mc ...

"Gay Teen Worried He Might Be Christian"Jan 13, 2010
LOUISVILLE, KY—At first glance, high school senior Lucas Faber, 18, seems like any ordinary gay teen. He's a member of his school's swing choir, enjoys shopping at the mall, and has sex with other males his age. But lately, a growing worry has begun to plague this young gay man. A gnawing feeling that, deep down, he may be a fundamentalist, right-wing Christian. "I don't know what's happening to me," Faber admitted to reporters Monday. "It's like I get these weird ...
