What a joke ! He might as well be a college student himself. His policies equate them.... or worse,,, those of a 10-year-old. ;

It must be hard to keep up with the Republican talking points. How do you keep all this ********** straight? Let's see: President Clinton gets criticized for NOT killing bin Laden. President Obama gets criticized FOR killing bin Laden and taking all the credit for himself and acting like the war on terror was finished.

Are we practicing a bit of revisionist history? Why the need to rewrite history? Does the truth hurt or does it make you somehow feel better to distort the facts? Better Question: Do you think the rest of us are deaf and stupid?

On the night bin Laden was killed while the college students gathered outside the White House cheering, President Obama said this (some portions omitted for brevity):

"Good evening. Tonight, I can report to the American people and to the world that the United States has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of al Qaeda, and a terrorist who�s responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent men, women, and children.

Yet his death does not mark the end of our effort. There�s no doubt that al Qaeda will continue to pursue attacks against us. We must �- and we will -- remain vigilant at home and abroad.

Tonight, we give thanks to the countless intelligence and counterterrorism professionals who�ve worked tirelessly to achieve this outcome. The American people do not see their work, nor know their names. But tonight, they feel the satisfaction of their work and the result of their pursuit of justice. We give thanks for the men who carried out this operation, for they exemplify the professionalism, patriotism, and unparalleled courage of those who serve our country. Finally, let me say to the families who lost loved ones on 9/11 that we have never forgotten your loss, nor wavered in our commitment to see that we do whatever it takes to prevent another attack on our shores. And tonight, let us think back to the sense of unity that prevailed on 9/11. I know that it has, at times, frayed. Yet today�s achievement is a testament to the greatness of our country and the determination of the American people.

The cause of securing our country is not complete. But tonight, we are once again reminded that America can do whatever we set our mind to. That is the story of our history, whether it�s the pursuit of prosperity for our people, or the struggle for equality for all our citizens; our commitment to stand up for our values abroad, and our sacrifices to make the world a safer place. Let us remember that we can do these things not just because of wealth or power, but because of who we are: one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

I guess he could have taken his eye off hunting down and killing bin Laden to go invade another country and look for nonexistent weapons of mass destruction, and I guess he could have landed on an aircraft carrier in a flight suit and then given a speech with a banner in the background reading "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED," but he'll just never measure up to be the kind of President that George W. Bush was!

"Mission Accomplished" DID NOT COME FROM BUSH; it came from the military personnel on the carrier that wanted to indicate to Pres. Bush the carrier/personnel accomplished the mission they had been charged with. The MILITARY PERSONNEL CHOSE THAT BANNER AND POSTED IT.

There's plenty of content in that post if you will just read it. If you are the OP and all you see is revisionist history because I posted an actual quote by the POTUS and questioned your retelling of actual historical events, then I can't fathom your problem with my response. I admit to insulting the former POTUS, but he's a public figure, and I'm entitled to my opinion. If you took that personal, there's not a thing I can do about that.

If you are the original poster, you should understand that people will respond to your posts. Calling them stalkers because you don't like their response is one way to go, although rather hypocritical and extremely transparent. I would certainly like to know how someone who is not using a unique Alias could presume another poster is stalking *them*. Interesting choice of insult. How would someone stalk what appears to be multiple different posters?

Maybe what is *really* hurting here is that the facts of that historical event do not exactly fit with your retelling of it? IMO, no one can insult your intelligence without your permission. Whining to the moderator is one way to go. Not something I would do, but everybody's different.

I don't get it. The transcript of the speech is posted all over the Internet. The President clearly thanked a multitude of others and said we would continue the fight.

All it takes is a simple 3rd grade level education to read and comprehend the posted speech.
