How do you feel about the aid that we give other countries?

some firm commitments in areas, but overall I think we have enough problems right now here at home that need to be fixed first and foremost. Isreal is unique to me in that they are not hurting financially, have plenty of fire power, and as far as I'm concerned they start just as much crap in the middle east as everyone else does...not something I'm comfortable backing.

It goes back to old saying of "if you can't take care of yourself, you can't take care of anyone else."

Now, if we didn't have folks on the streets here starving and were doing well, then yeah, I'd be all for humanitarian help whever needed. That money we send Israel could go a long way here for a much better cause.

you should cut off EVERY country's aid. Doing so to just one country is "discriminatory."

Should we should cut off aid to Pakistan, Egypt, Libya, and other African nations that receive our help? Should we cut off aid to India?

How about Central America? Do we give them aid and if so, should we cut them off? How about Haiti?

In politics, as with everything else, we TRY to put our money where our mouths are when we make choices. We support our allies; we do not support regimes that commit humanitarian offenses. Just like I prefer to spend money locally rather than shop online, and prefer fair trade over corporate conglomeration. In this way, I discriminate when I make choices that are meaningful to me. This does not amount to some wily form of discrimination. How funny.

I don't believe in biblical prophesy, second coming, etc., - so Israel has to deserve my support, and

I do not support oppressive governments that are persecuting minority groups. I am talking about Palestinians, especially, of course, but also others. Conservative and religious bigotry have been ascendant there for some time now and have caused many dreadful acts no American should support.
