Politico is a liberal rag, and Gallup isn't accurate in any polls. We learned with the 2012 "selection" of obama. Hoot and howl all you want about B.O. and Billary. They are not, in reality, the most admired among the majority of Americans.

You need to do some research - They are wrong in this case
[ In Reply To ..]
First and foremost, they are just plain wrong about this and they have an agenda (getting democrats re-elected and getting Clinton elected). The are paid for and bought by liberals. That right there tells you the story cannot be trusted.

Now...about Politico. The founder, Robert Allbritton is a trustee of the Lyndon Baines Johnson (Democrat) Library and Museum. He is described by The New Republic (A liberal magazine) as having "reshaped the way we follow politics." On top of that the editors and reporters are liberals. That's what makes it a liberal leaning rag.

I did do research - wheres_my_job
[ In Reply To ..]
Politico is not liberal. They are center or moderate Republican. That is not liberal - although this country has tilted so far to the right, center or moderate Republican may seem liberal.

Trust me, I am a liberal. Politico is not liberal. It is center right to moderate Republican.
They are funded by and support democrats - that makes them liberal
[ In Reply To ..]
Whether or not you want to believe the facts is up to you. Just because you don't want to believe them doesn't change the fact that they are funded by and are run by liberal leaning reporters and staff.
Liberal leaning - you mean centrist republican - wheres_my_job
[ In Reply To ..]
I am a liberal. I do now and again read Politico - I saw a lot of Politico during the last Presidential election.

They absolutely do not "tilt left." They are centrist REPUBLICAN.

It doesn't have anything to do with a poll showing favorable ratings for Obama and Clinton. They could put that poll out to try and light a fire under Republicans, to disassociate themselves from the Tea Party. Republicans are desperate to win next election, and they don't think they can do it without pulling away from hard-right Tea Party crowd.

That doesn't make them LIBERAL. I'm liberal. No, Politico does not slant the news toward my politics.
There is liberal and then there is far far left - progressive/communist viewpoints
[ In Reply To ..]
like Clinton and a lot of other democrats who like to think they are in the center. Politico is liberal leaning. Maybe they don't go as far as progressive/communist, but they are liberal leaning.
Progressives are not communist - wheres_my_job
[ In Reply To ..]
Two totally different things. Communism refers to a specific type of political system - whereas progressive locates someone on a spectrum in a variety of political systems.

Progressive is not at all "far far left." Progressive is a name adopted by liberals, in response all-out bashing and denigration of the term by conservative right-wing pundits such as Rush Limbaugh. Oh, people don't like liberal? So we'll start calling ourselves progressives.

That's still not communist, or anywhere near it.
No they are not - research
[ In Reply To ..]
"Communist Party USA Tells Us They Are "Progressives."

Progressives talk, act and legislate in a Marxist-like manner and then get all indignant when anyone says "gee, seems like a Commie to me." If one tells me I am thinking and acting like a conservative, I wear that mantle proudly, but if I say they are Marxists and Communists, they go ballistic. That means either they are unaware their ideology is Marxist and almost full blown Communist, or they are less then honest. I wonder . . . .

I can at least respect one when they man up and admit who and what they are. This is America - you can be whatever suits ya but I cannot and will not respect a liar, a prevaricator or an obfuscator or anyone so in denial they don't even understand their own professed ideology."

http://voices.yahoo.com/communist-party-usa-tells-us-they-progressives-5385221.html

“Progressive” – The New Word for “Communist’

“Communist” may be the old-fashioned word, but “Progressive” means the same thing! It means government control of everything. The end of freedom. No more freedom of religion. No more freedom of speech. (Political correctness). No more rewards for your hard work. “Spread the wealth.”

Most people still don’t understand that communism/progressivism will “fundamentally change” their lives from optimistic to hopeless. From liberty to tyranny. The elite few (oligarchy) will rule the rest of us just like the feudal system.

It's pretty easy to do the research. I say people should be proud of their beliefs. People should not be ashamed. I have a friend who is proud to tell me she is a progressive/communist. I may not agree with her ideologies, but I respect that she stands behind what she believes.
Hilarious - you see what's happening? - wheres_my_job
[ In Reply To ..]
It's all about branding. The good liberal name being bashed? Okay, we're progressives.

Communist party about as unpopular in US as it has always been? Time to rebrand: We're progressives now, not communists.

My point still stands. And BTW, if progressive and communist were interchangeable terms, then your friend wouldn't have to tell you they're both.

Yes, the right would like to collapse everyone on the left into one tight little extreme compartment, the way the right is compacted into one tight little super right wing box. But it's not so...no matter how much you'd like it to be.

[ In Reply To ..]
Breitbart is not reporting anything new or independent. They are repeating what another site says. That's okay I guess if you are into that sort of thing, but I would like some independent research into it, not someone who is paid for by liberal (or conservative) funding and someone who has a vested interested in getting the next person elected.

Also, this article says that Obama got 16% of the vote. Wow, if all it takes is 16% to now be the most admired person I wonder about the other 84% (wait, who knew 16 is more than 84) LOL And Clinton only took 15% (who took the other 85% is what makes me wonder - also there is that fuzzy math again). I see nobody here mentioned that George Bush was next up, along with Sarah Palin not far behind Hillary. That right there makes the whole article suspicious. How could George Bush and Sarah Palin be on it too. Now, if the article said that Bill Clinton was the most admired person, that would be believable. He is. But Obama and Hillary? Has to make you wonder who is behind this. Most likely Soros, liberals and their banker and 1%er buddies. After all election time is coming up and they want them in.
It's a Gallup poll - NK
[ In Reply To ..]
that was merely reported by Politico, Breitbart, and a zillion other media outlets. Gallup conducts this poll every year. There's a link in the Politico article giving the full results of the poll with an explanation of how the poll was conducted. Nothing sinister or mysterious about it.
I know that. That's what I said. - It's not independent.

Gallup - NK
[ In Reply To ..]
Gallup has been conducting personal opinion polls for 60-or-so years and is not affiliated with any political party. I suppose you think they generate calls from registered Democratic voter lists, supplied by George Soros, in order to skew their polls. Perhaps you can explain why Gallup was one of the very few whose polls reflected Romney as being the frontrunner in the 2012 presidential election. Incidentally, it was totally unnecessary and quite condescending to post the definition of sinister.

They want democrats reelected. Always happens before elections. People try and sway other people's opinion by putting out bogus information. Ever notice that right before Hillary is announcing she's running people (who contribute to her campaign) come out with a movie about her or her life story. Never giving facts, but just a fantasy of their imagination. It's called trying to sway the voters.

The facts remain. They are not the most admired in America.
Yeah, I know. Romney is looking pretty good in the polls. - It's a conspiracy.
[ In Reply To ..]

the problem with this theory - NK
[ In Reply To ..]
is that the only election that's coming up is midterms, and neither Obama nor Hillary Clinton is running in 2014 and she has not announced that she's running in 2016. As far as the facts remaining, obviously your facts don't include the Gallup poll. Perhaps you should have said they are not the most admired in America in your personal opinion rather than making a blanket statement.

It is hard to know how to respond sometimes. I think just sticking with the facts. We do our research and when we can confirm the information we read is in fact the truth I think just go with that and ignore what a lot of people say. Especially with Benghazi-gait, which is the whole purpose of our posts. Many posters who want liberals re-elected will act like it's no big deal, but in the end it is going to come back to haunt them. Like you said one life lost is tragic, but to sweep it under a rug is unconscionable and disgusting.

I guess it is a blessing that Miley Cyrus or any of the Kardashians did not top the list of most admired in today's world. Neither myself nor any of my family or friends are ever invited to participate in these polls, quite possibly because most of us are conservatives. My only question regarding this Gallup poll is, "What reasons were given by the people who were polled as to why they most admire these two?," or was that too difficult a task with which to deal? Just throwing out a name without anything to justify it or defend it would not be my definition of a responsible and accurate accounting of people's opinions, and that is why I define this Gallup poll as entertainment nonsense. Peace and good wishes to everyone in 2014.
