National Review: "Why the Tea Party's Waning, not Winning"

Posted: May 20, 2015

I do wish more Tea Partiers had stuck to Ron Paul's ideology and temperament.  Even the conservative National Review says they haven't stayed true to the cause, the insinuation being they are hypocrits.

(And they come across as so angry as well, but Ron Paul didn't :/)

PS: My original post said the WSJ instead of National Review.  I had articles open from both on the same issue but chose the National Review instead, sorry about that

Reminiscent of Obama buying his twitter followers.

Political discussion is always welcome by any political persuasion in my thread.

Discussion and actual debate is preferred over insults hurled at others without political content, as we often see from some TP-ers.

Corrected: National Review not the WSJ, my apologies - The Anon Formerly Known as Julia Sugarbaker

Sorry, I had different two articles from both conservative publications with a negative view on the Tea Party lately, but I chose the NR to post. I edited it/correct it since.

National Review Online Being Sued For Defamation Jul 24, 2013
NRO being sued by climate scientist, Michael Mann. "Mann has been the target of numerous investigations into his work and has been cleared of any wrongdoing every time. Since some of these investigations were prompted by NRO [National Review Online] and CEI [Competitive Enterprise Institute], they had to know he was cleared of academic fraud, yet they continued to accuse him of it. Oops." "Unsurprisingly, both the NRO and CEI were unhappy with this and tried to block the lawsuit using SLAP ...

Excellus Blue Cross/Blue Shield just sent every subscriber a link to this story regarding one man's experience with the ACA. "As a small business owner, I buy health insurance for myself and my family on my own. And the rates have just been going up and up and up with no end in sight, especially over the past few years. Take last year, for instance: for my family, I was paying more than $800 per month just in premiums. And that’s with a sky-high deductible. At some point, I just ...

Book Review - Game ChangeFeb 10, 2010
Finally got my hands on a copy of Game Change. I am really enjoying the behind the scenes look at the last pres campaign.  All of the candidates are presented as real human beings - flaws and all.  Interesting look at conflict between Biden and Obama, the whole Edwards fiasco and Hill and Bill. And, if you are troubled by Palin's inadequacies now, you will not be comforted by reading this book.   ...

Senate Approves Iran Review LegislationMay 07, 2015
See what happens when the Republicans are in Charge. Things get done. Senate approves Iran review legislation by large margin The Senate gave overwhelming approval Thursday to legislation establishing a congressional review for a proposed nuclear deal with Iran, as Republican leaders set aside efforts from their own rank and file to amend the carefully-crafted bipartisan compromise. On a 98-1 vote, the Senate lent a bipartisan boost to legislation — likely to be approved next week b ...

Virginia's Bid For Fast Track Review Of The Health Care Law Apr 26, 2011
So, tomorrow the Supreme Court goes on their annual 3-month vacation. When do they expect to rule on the Healthcare Act? There are a slew of dates from May 10, 2010 through Sept. 2012. The Tea Party (disgusting And Full Of Vitrole And Hatred) Are Not The Republican Party HopefullyApr 17, 2011
I hope with everything I have in me that the Tea Party does not represent the Republican Party. This is what the Tea Party stands for. They are full of vitriole and hatred. This is not what the Republican party stands for. "Davenport, a tea party activist, represents t ...

Anybody See The Article On The National Debt?Jan 17, 2011
$14T and growing at a rate of $4 billion a day! Isn't that just ducky! The government borrows 41 cents for every dollar it spends and we, the people,  every man, woman, and child, equals $45,300. I'm so glad my 3-yo grandson will have a good life. Has the TARP money been applied to this debt? I didn't see anything in any article on that. What to do? Raising the debt ceiling will keep us "solvent" for a little while, but what happens when that limit is reached? Will they rais ...
