It is about time--Obama Executive ACTIONS
Posted: Dec 31, 2015
Not enough, not soon enough, but a step in the right direction. If only he would "come for their guns." Alas--too busy sending federal aide for flood disasters.

I hope he PLASTERS us with Executive Orders. IF CONGRESS WILL NOT ACT (like adults) OBAMA WILL!!

A logical plan to take all guns. - sm

Go about this in a sensible way, and I'll suppor it.
Step 1: We obviously must start with the weapons that represent the greatest clear and present danger to citizens, namely those presently in the hands of criminals. Remove those - all of them - and show that you have done so.
Step 2: Part of the reasoning behind the 2nd amendment was that the citizenry ought never to be at the mercy of a lawless government, should that occur (as it has during the last 7 years). Remove the guns from law enforcement, who would no longer need them because of step #1. Prove that you have done so. Of course, the government is prohibited from deploying the military for active operations within the borders of the country, so we can make arrangements for them to have limited access to firearms for training purposes and when lawfully deployed.
Step 3: Now you can have my gun. I'll drop it off at the police station myself.
Simple? Apparently, so let's git 'er done!
I cannot made sense out of this - nothing simple about guns
[ In Reply To ..]
Not sure if you were just having fun here or what, but there is nothing simple about trying to reign in the gun nuts. Furthermore, your premise in #1 and #2 are well to put it kindly, nonsensical.
Since guns now outnumber humans in this country, and the gun factories are having a field day with the fear factor that policitians live and die by, I don't see a way to do much of anything about the out of control gun problem in the U.S.
But if a THINKING citizenry DID want to try to address things, the FIRST THING it would have to do is admit there are NO SIMPLE answers.
Zoomed right by ya, did it Sparky? - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
To have to explain this to someone who betrays her position by the use of the phrase "gun nuts" is the sublime irony.
I decline.
So, the first premise for your post is that there - are no "gun nuts"--None?
[ In Reply To ..]
That in itself is telling and interesting. Gives your position a -5 on the time line. Come back up to zero and we can have a discussion. Otherwise, live in your sarcastic world about an extremely serious problem. Maybe you live in Texas and can put your fear on your hip legally now. I am just waiting and counting the dreaded days/minutes/seconds for the beginning of the shoot outs. It's Saturday of a holiday weekend...I'd say the time is ripe. Question is: Will it be at Wal-Mart over on-sale Christmas wrap or at the bar?
You jumped right to (your own) answer to your question, no? - Typical. So very, very typical.
[ In Reply To ..]
So let's start over, shall we? It's your term. Define it and then I'll give you an answer. MY ANSWER, that is.
Or do you just want to play these adolescent games?
Hope he gets impeached for that - Lunatic running around in the WH

What's next....sheesh!
Sure let's spend MILLIONS to impeach a - president who has one year left
[ In Reply To ..]
And while you are at it, why not impeach him for having the audacity to breath the same air you do? :)
He'll spend $millions implementing his executive orders... - ...so why not?
[ In Reply To ..]
It isn't the cost of impeaching him, it's the fact that you could never get a conviction in the Senate anyway, plus the fact that there isn't time. We'll just have to suffer through his final year and try to undo all the damage he's inflicted.
What's next? Hold onto your hat. Obama has...sm - VTMT

More responsible gun owners, I'm just certain - they were mentally stable

When they purchased the gun.
This could be one of many random gun deaths in the U.S. over the past few days. How bout the one where the little girl died from the New Year's Eve revelry?

How did Americans become this stupid? Fear and stupidity is a deadly combination. And to think, Texas has become an "open carry" state as of 1/1. Wish all the gun owners would move to Texas and rid the rest of us of their "safety" precautions.
All these comments about guns but everyone is missing the #1 problem - Truthhurts

Even those in this administration. They are looking at an impossible end result meaning guns in the hands of criminals, a/k/a drug cartels, gangs, etc. are causing most of the violence in this country. Chicago, Baltimore, New York City, Camden NJ, Philadelphia, PA, St. Louis, among others.
They don't follow the laws of this country now. What makes you think Obama's EOs for gun control is going to help? They get their guns across the border, from stealing the guns from law-abiding citizens, and buying from the black market.
Again, the above criminals don't buy guns legally so Obama's gun control measures will NEVER affect them. It's a wasted effort on this administration no matter how much they state otherwise. No one in this administration is using their heads. They aren't looking at the bigger picture and refuse to fact the facts that are staring them in the face.
Criminals buy their guns at gun shows or steal them... - Sm
[ In Reply To ..]
no harm in closing that gun show loophole and make sellers accountable. There is no one thing that will solve our gun violence problem. Anyone on the no-fly list, domestic abuser, or someone with severe mental illness should not be able to buy guns. If you are an irresponsible gun owner and someone is injured or dies, you should be held accountable under the law.
How do you weed them out of the general population - Truthhurts
[ In Reply To ..]
Those on the no-fly lists. A lot of them are unjustly on that list. Some are on there just because they have the same name as someone else who may be a terrorist. A local resident was put on the no-fly list and he couldn't find out why. I don't know if he's still on it but he tried for over 4 years to find out why he was on that list. He was told that information wasn't available to him. Huh? Why not?
Domestic violence - after the fact? What about the person who never showed any violent behavior, buys a gun legally and THEN does the domestic abuse? What will the test be to figure out who will be a domestic abuser?
Severe mental illness - Will health records be illegally accessed and HIPAA laws ignored? Just because it's the government doesn't mean they can break the law....what about a person who has NO record of mental illness but then has a breakdown? What will the test be for someone who MAY have a mental illness in the future?????
What defines an irresponsible gun owner? If they're gun is locked up but someone breaks into the locked area, finds and steals the gun then uses it in a criminal act, why should the owner be held accountable? They did the responsible thing. The CRIMINAL created the problem.
This is the whole problem. No one is thinking all this through. Like I stated before, criminals will always find a way to get a gun and what you suggest doesn't solve the problem.
Do you think the drug cartels and gangs of Chicago will buy their guns legally? "Yeah, man....I'm going to the gun dealer and buy me a gun so I can protect myself when I'm selling drugs." Drug cartels are probably using Fast and Furious guns. Gangs have never bought guns legally. Why do you think a lot of guns have their serial numbers filed off? It's not because they were bought legally.
People have to wake up and realize the REAL problems in this country and it's not legal gun owners.
Once Obama does his EOs, he will follow up with more to strip away more rights. He's already trashed a few constitutional laws and he definitely isn't going to stop now. In fact, he's going to speed up because he only has this year left.
Here you go--the most sense I have seen - gun owner, supporting NRA

Hopefully not too long to hold attention. It is not the typical black and white. I personally would like to see them all melted down, but this works for a more realistic approach.

How many people use drugs illegally. How many people go through a red light illegally. How many people break DUI laws. Countless other laws are broken every day, but those laws are still on the books with some semblance of enforcement. You have to start somewhere. Have you ever gone fishing? Did you catch them all?
I believe in the second amendment, but I also believe in some reasonable change in gun laws. By your logic, if people break a law, then we should not waste time making the law in the first place. I do not believe O or any other president would ever try to disarm America. This is simply not the purpose of gun "control."

Albeit, the MSM fails to deliver the correct information, however, let me take this time to fill you in. The US dollar is being abandoned in a global currency "war" and it will leave the purchase strength of your currency in a similar state the PESO was in when pegged against the US dollar...worthless. When that happens, hungry people numbers in the tens of millions are going to be left without enough on their EBT cards to feed themselves. They will not starve in the Land of Plenty, but they will resort to robbery.
In all the history of the United States of America, this is the absolute WORST time to encourage law-abiding citizens to give up their ability to protect themselves.
Your naivete concerns me greatly. America is bankrupt, investors are coming in and Agenda 21, the Scam of the 21st century is cordoning off land and the plan is to move off rural population into high rise apartments. Disguised as "going green," this is a foreclosure and to think otherwise in this new global economy is a danger to your and your family, forever.
All is fair in love and war. Obama is a trojan horse and his job is to disarm Americans, which the founding fathers realized would occur, and which is why they placed this God Given Right into law.
Being naive is a luxury you can ill afford. Tax hike comes in many forms. And there are too many useless eaters for this New World.
Snap out of it. Your country is being robbed blind and the world is watching you dance, sing and play while the ship sinks. It's the most absurd and painful thing I have EVER witnessed.
