Guess this is only the beginning.

How is this the beginning? - This is why I stay away from this board.

No where in that article does it say anything other than verified studies have shown that Avastin does not extend life in metastatic breast cancer, therefore it is no longer being recommended and/or approved for that.

Anything else is pure speculation and rubbish meant to rile up the ignorant masses.

I posted the article - Then why are you here?

You can read it and make your own conclusions or spin it to whatever way you want.

I see this as the beginning of the g controlling what meds we are allowed to have for whatever illnesses/disease we may have. Breast cancer? Well people with breast cancer are no good to us anyway. What's next Alzheimer meds? Diabetes meds? ADD/ADHD?

This is why you stay away from this board??? Then why are you here?

Don't insurance companies do this already? - nm

If the drug doesn't benefit breast cancer patients and costs $8K a month, why should they be prescribed this drug? I know I wouldn't want to pay $8K for a drug that didn't work, would you?

They're only making a recommendation, not banning it for breast cancer patients.

It would be a different story if it was a drug that was proven effective for breast cancer and they wanted to pull it off the market, but getting upset because of a recomendation is a little bit of a stretch. The headline is just to catch some reader off guard and get their 'hits' up on their web page.

Well that they did for sure - anon

My understanding of this drug (before I ever read this article), is that it has had good results for breast cancer patients. So when I heard they were taking it off the market I thought well that's just great.

Guess I'm going to do some more research about this drug and see if I can find more info. Thanks for the message.
